2004 G-1 is a fantastically brutal G-1 Climax. You got young Shibata(who is the least stiffest), Tenryu(Who needs to kick everybody square in the forehead, and shoot punch people so hard in the nut sack that they end up tapping them on the belly with said balls), Takayama, and Sasaki(Who wrestled so stiffly that Takayama had a stroke). It’s truly a must see in pure wrestling entertainment. The only two disappointments is I can’t find every match in full, since the only thing available to tape traders was the comp tapes that cut down some of the outsider wrestlers matches. It still doesn’t hurt the quality of the matches(actually it might have even helped), but still might upset purest. Also the finals are a little disappointing, because some have speculated that Takayama was going to be one of the finalist. So because of political reasons Tanahasi, and Tenzan wrestled a repeat of their match from earlier in the tournament.

Reina and Ripley would be awesome heaters for Alexa. One talker, one worker, and one who’s real big. Everyone can hide their flaws.

Not bad... The only real big issue is that three women teams have been a failure when it comes to money off these new brands, and also the writers *cough*Vince*cough* never seem to have anything for them too.

    Can we Savio Vega instead?

I'm glad Alexa is better, but I was kinda hoping she'd retire.

Hopefully Alexa gets put in a tag team for her full return, to hide her flaws. Her as the top heel champion really dragged down the women’s division on RAW from an in-ring perspective. Though, they better not stick her again with Nia Jax to resurrect that tired plot-line, though. Bring up the very, very good Reina  Gonzalez instead. I hate how “Shitty” Tamina is eating up a spot that could be given to her instead.

Bobby Roode and Chad Gable have low key become a really good tag team.

But they feel like such a place holder team. They need a name like “The Glorious Ones”, and say stuff like “You look Glorious” “No, you look Glorious” “Thank you” “No, thank you” on their way to the ring, just to give us an idea that they will last.

Tennis nets make great ring ropes. They're great for raking someone's face across.

This is starting to sound vaguely like Lionheart.

P.S. Our school improvised ring was the top of the stairwell.

I don’t know how no one died that year?

The other was the Track & Field crash pads that were set-up under the high jump.

After seeing Jinder fucking Mahal pushed from absolutely nothing to the WWE title within a one month window, saying it's "too late" for anybody is wrong. Anybody can be chosen and pushed at any time, even if their entire career beforehand was spent as a jobber. Prior losses don't matter if they decide to get behind somebody and actually try to push them as an actual threat. Hell, even Barry Horrowitz ended up with a push and got put on SummerSlam in a featured match once ;)

He did get a bit of a repacking though. He just fucking sucked.

Maybe for Breeze he can get the Shawn Michaels concussion angle. But when he wakes up he believes he’s his undercover persona ala the Sunny Burnett storyline on Vice.

Well, there you go, @Eivion, *someone* is still clamoring for that main event Tyler Breeze push.

I don't know why comedy tag team is somehow not a good enough role for him. There isn't a single person on the roster in a prominent spot  that makes me think "Breeze would work better here."

I’m not clamoring for anything. I just think from watching him in NXT, that he had potential as a singles guy. He just needed a better start. Giving him a debut, with the mentioned issues, and no build up wasn’t.

Still a better spot than he's in currently, but the point I was trying to make is that people on the board seemed to think Breeze's ceiling was very high.

He might’ve, but he never got the opportunity. The closest he got were those high profile matches in NXT he was booked to lose. Except for the Samoa Joe loss, he did feel like he was on the cusp of something bigger there, but they felt he needed to be a gate keeper. He was good at it too. He never had that same chance to try that on the main roster. It feels like it’s too late for him now unless, he gets a complete repacking.

I guess you weren't around for the Raw threads full of fury that Breeze debuted in a feud against Ziggler. That's a spot he'd be lucky to have now.

Actually Summer Rea was feuding with Ziggler. Breeze was brought in as her new boyfriend, and had to wear humongous lifts to be at her height. He was going nowhere with that bust of a hand.

  10. Ehhhh... It’s pretty obvious looking back that the Revival were set up to be the top heel team on Raw when they were being called up before the injuries. The Bar getting the belts again as heels was the back-up plan. That wasn’t a very entertaining run, even if they had “characters”.

Is there a lack of character with The Revival, sure. But it’s not like these “characters” that they push are “entertaining”. Like the B-Team might have been the worse underdog tag team to win in some time. They might as well have pushed The Revival at that point, or push Slater & Rhyno if they don’t give a shit about the integrity of the division. At least we know they are entertaining.

  11. Why are they having 5 minute Tag matches with other major teams? That makes no sense, unless they are squashes.

...And they did have good 5-6 minute squash matches in NXT.

No the main fatal flaw is that Vince’s booking style is outdated. We need new(blue) blood, that can utilize everybody’s talents. NXT has shown the capability of the talent there. Hell even No Way Jose looked decent there.

Funny coincidence. I defended the Hollywood writer earlier in the thread, but have you ever heard that guy Alex Greenfield? I think he was head smackdown writer with Steph in like 2006 or something. I once heard him say the person he was the highest on that the WWE wasted as a superstar was Kelly Kelly, so.....

They eventually gave his muse Kelly Kelly something juicy to act to.

    “Kaley...”
