  1. Thought Karolina had the beating of Joanna. Joanna was striking in 4 beat flurries with the jab cross low kicks so had higher numbers, but thought Karolina looked more assured. Which is surprising, as I expected Joanna to dominate.
  2. Looked like Eddies head was gone before the fight. Stumbling over his words at the weigh in. Getting into altercations with the crowd after his interview. Generally looking tired and bruised. Dont think Conor wants any of Khabib. Felt sorry for Johnson watching him try and squirm and crawl away from that monster ...
  3. Yeah, same here. Its pretty disgraceful / bush league how its playing out. Fight club members got nothing; I do not know of anyone who got anything reasonable through the newsletter pre-sale today. TicketMaster was effectively crashing. Meanwhile there's now literally hundreds of tickets on secondary market websites at 3 - 4x the already inflated prices. $800 for the very back of MSG. Hoping they've held a fair amount back for the general public sale tomorrow, but expecting nothing. EDIT: Eventually got through on TM around 7 PM ET last night .. got tickets in a category that were not showing for several hours earlier in the day .. so advice to those trying to scoop some later today is keep checking TM throughout the day even if its looking sold out in a certain category at 10 AM ET. At this point it looks like you can add 25%/30% at least to the face value of any ticket by the time November comes & they're on the secondary market.
  4. Has anyone got or tried to get 205 tickets? Nightmare trying to get at them through TicketMaster yesterday / today.

It's an episodic TV serial not a wrestling show on loop: they've done a superb job of tying everything together so far. The opening scene in prison was excellent. Any 'Russo' tendencies are what you're projecting onto the show yourself. The most interesting twist here was the water plant. Is it a nuclear waste facility? What's the end game for the Dark Army there. Also interested to see why Price was gleeful after the hack at end of season 1 but is rattled now. What was he expecting/promised to happen? And of course Eliot is not Tyrell. Though I suspect the Mr Robot persona may be a lot more malevolent than suggested.
  6. I thought -- and stated as much in this thread -- before the fight that that would be the only way McGregor gets him - Diaz tumbling for a third payday that would be greater than anything else he'd get for most of the rest of his career combined. McGregor gave the impression of having emotionally cracked prior to the fight, and its still outrageous to me that a man at featherweight in a professional combat sport jumps 25 lbs in less than 10 months and goes on to beat a top fighter at that weight. But it was too intense to be that. Maybe Nate got complacement. I'm amazed he didn't register a takedown until the final seconds of the fifth. I was also surprised to see those early knockdowns when he was comfortable with Conor's power in the first fight, and surprised that he wasn't closer to putting McGregor on the mat with his own strikes. Conor clearly won 3 rds there though, so very fair victory. Got to think McGregor wins again at 155 -- but who knows,
  7. Good analysis -- although physically Johnson was a different prospect to McGregor. I still can't get over McGregor going up by over 10 kg in less than 10 months. Wonder what that does to his timing, movement etc. Different sport, but for perspective Pacquiao went up around 15 kg between becoming flyweight champion in '98 to welterweight in '09 in what was a historic career -- McGregor's at 10 kg in less than a year.
  8. I don't think so either -- so I'm backing Nate heavily. At this point, I meant that's the only way I see McGregor being competitive here. Ground game aside / jiu jitsu aside - McGregor was so heavily rocked by Diaz's punches in the first fight as soon as Nate got into his flow, I don't see how this is going to get any better for him with Nate on a full camp.
  9. McGregor looks like he's cracking up. The only chance I give him in this fight, fighting potentially a full 25 lbs heavier than when he fought Aldo less than a year ago, is if Diaz goes easy in search of the immense payout that the trilogy fight would bring.

You clearly do not pay attention to the show: the lens through which the story is told is unstable, but the essential narrative remains the same. Ray existed; Whiterose's bodyguard existed; there wasn't a lie, we simply saw the reality as coloured by Eliot with his own sense of distortion. Extremely good season.
