  1. You have to be Samoan and related to the Rock to not be released in the WWE. You can have multiple DUI's, fail some drug tests, but you will be fine.

Part of me thinks they will do the same they did with Vega and try to bring him back for less $$. They have to see all the negative posts on social media.

Imagine if  Raw gets hijacked by "Fuck Nick Khan" or "we want bray" chants.

  2. Jimmy Lloyd is not my cup of tea. Getting booked because your friends are stars is carny 101 though and I get it but him being in the Main Event was akin to Beefcake At Starrcade 94.

The commentary is horrible. Dave Prazak is ok and did all he could to make the show listenable but every match doesn't need f bombs dropped.  I know it's not a family product but not all adults need to hear swearing and screaming on commentary. Did Joey Styles need to swear? Did Paul E?  Jim or Tony? None of the greats did and there is a reason. True talent doesn't need to be over the top. I felt bad for Dave.

  3. how has nobody mentioned the spot where Jimmy Lloyd stuck the syringe in that dude's ear and shot the water through it. Or when he shoved it up the dude's nose and did the same thing?!  So fucking sick and i'm sure the payoff wasn't worth it as I haven't heard or saw anyone even talk about it.

Going back to WWE (presumably for less money) seems like a better fit for Stroman than the indies or overseas, but I'd still be curious to see what developed for him outside of WWE.  To me, he feels like a guy like Enzo or Ryback, who has interests outside of wrestling and maybe is more interested in being a WWE superstar and making WWE money than  in wrestling in whatever small feds will book them (which is probably why you rarely hear from some guys after WWE releases them).  IRRC, Braun is 100 percent a product of the WWE system.  I don't think he had any experience before WWE signed him (they found him through strongman contests).

A while back, Meltzer threw out that Vince should fire everyone except the big names and can't-miss prospects, then wait a year and see where guys go and how they develop.  Meltz's theory is that the guys who really want to wrestle and/or get back to the WWE will try to improve and keep working and will become regulars in Japan and on the indies, while the people who just want to be WWE stars or make WWE money won't work the indies or overseas and basically will move on to something else.  Dave thought the guys that became working wrestlers were the guys worth bringing back and the other guys were probably just in it for WWE money and wouldn't be worth the long-term investment anyways.

At the NEW show in Rostraver (Pittsburgh)  Enzo and Cass had a consistently long line of people to meet them paying $40 for an auto or $60 for Auto and picture.  The line always had a good ammt of people waiting to meet them and I'm sure they made a good ammt of $$.  Stroman could do this and maybe power slam a local indy guy every 2 weeks and make some bank if AEW or NJPW don't want him.  Why go back to WWE? I questioned Hero, I question Zelina,.  Why go back to a place that didn't want you the first time?  Especially when it's only been 2 months. Companies don't suddenly admit "oh we fucked up come back to us"  And even if they did why would you want to go back?

I'm of the opinion that killing someone after being spat upon is 100% justified, so I can't blame her for never watching wrestling again.  It's one of the most disgusting, disrespectful actions I can think of, and I may very well have started a riot if someone spit on my significant other.  I'm generally not an angry person, but spitting is where I draw the line.

Kingston apologized but I think he was forced to. Could be wrong. I love Norm Connors and it wasn't his fault or responsibility. It was all on Eddie.  There are better ways to get heat. I know a lot of people root for him as if he's the underdog but I lost a shit ton of respect for Kingston that night.

  6. The Hero- Kingston beef definitely started with Marciano. Claudio and Hero are like brothers so it's natural that he would have Hero's back.

I remember Hero saying that his whole life is wrestling and questioned Kingston's commitment. This was back in 04 or 05.

My wife used to enjoy wrestling. Not a huge fan but would watch it with me, knew enough of it to know who was who.  I took her to a show that had AJ vs Punk, Southern Comfort vs Midnight Express,  Sabin vs SJK, just a stacked card. Our own @Gormanwas on commentary I believe.  Well long story short Kingston fell outside the ring and landed by my wife's feet. She backed up and he said "you should stay in the kitchen"  no big deal.  Well a few mins later he spat and it hit her.  She was furious. To this day she refuses to go to a show.  Fucking killed wrestling for her.

Hero on the other hand is a different breed. I'd venture many of us spent time chatting with Chris back in the AOL messenger days. He was always polite and if he saw you at shows he always had time for pics or to chat. He could come off as a dick at times but all humans can. I was a huge fan of his early IWA-MS work and always wanted to see him get a good WWE or NJPW run. He and Claudio could have easily won tag league and been huge together in NJPW. WWE not bringing up Hero and tagging Shemus with him instead will always be a head scratcher to me.

  7. I have Xbox game pass and PS Now and feel i won't have to purchase as many newer games as both seem to cover a lot of ground. Xbox has all the Yakuza games including the newest like a dragon,  they also have a deal with EA Access so you get all of the sports games. They just added the newest UFC.   Between Game Pass and PSNow I feel set. The only game missing that i'd want right now is the newest RE.

Ok so I know I'm what getting close to 20 years late reading this... What I gave up on Marvel in the mid 90s and didn't bother catching up until a few years ago...

    Punisher Born-TPB

Found this cheap on Amazon. ALways loved Frank Castle as a kid. But while I have enjoyed what I have read I haven't read but a tiny bit of Ennis' run on the character. Got this in 2 days ago. DAMN the art was gorgeous, well as gorgeous as a bloody brutal war story can be. Ennis for me captures the mindset of Castle perfectly. And those last few pages with Frank coming home and seeing his family and realizing what he had to sacrifice to get what he has always wanted.... That was chilling.

I know about the Platoon mini, and looking for a cheap copy right now. But yea I need to just start buying the omnibus or hardcovers of Ennis longish run on Punisher.

I bought the Ennis Omnibus books 3 of them and I instantly wanted to read more Punisher. The writing, the art, I was hooked. Ebay is a good place to find them. I bought all 3 for roughly $180 total.   Also feel free to DM me as I have another option you may be interested in.

  9. So for all the positive feedback coming out of MITB Raw just killed it all.  My timeline was littered with Raw hate. I'd venture to say 90% of the fanbase thought Becky would close out the show with a stare down with Charlotte. Nope. The ending was just weird.

How many weeks until Karrion Kross becomes "Kross"   maybe that's why Nikki Cross had the name change.

Vince must have saw Jeff Hardy trending Sunday and figured the fans wanted to see him pushed. Only way to explain his win.

Keith Lee coming back in his home state to lose a non title match is pure WWE.

Think about this guys and gals, WWE is promoting their biggest summer show on a 60+ yr old man and a less than part timer.  This is what happens when you refuse to make new stars.

How jealous must Pritchard and Dunn be of HHH. They kill everything he creates.  Kross, Lee, half of the women, Andrade, Black, they split American Alpha prior to the injury. it's the reverse Rumplestiltzkin effect. Everything HHH turns to gold they turn to shit.

How do you end Summerslam to send the crowd home happy? Cena isn't beating Roman,  Goldberg winning would be a huge mistake unless Big E cashes in on him which is really the only viable option that would make sense.  I can't possibly see the women main eventing a show that has Cena-Reigns on the card.

Cagematch confirms that their last match prior to tonight was May 20th's episode of Impact where they lost the Impact Tag Team championship to VBD. Finlay hasn't wrestled in any promotion since then and Juice had wrestled once against nZo at a NEW show. So looks like they just disappeared. HOWEVER, New Japan tweeted out

I was at the Juice/NZO match and it wasn't too bad. Before the show you could meet Sgt. Slaughter, Carlito, Lex Luger, Sam Adonis, NZO, Cass, and a few others.  Poor juice had 0 line at all. Was the modern day Virgil.

Previous PPVs after Covid for me had those "ok, its almost good" feel, but I feel like this one finally delivered. I think I liked most of what I saw thou I have to shake my head at RoH still doing "title challenger loses major singles match before his title challenge". Or the fact that we have guys like Flip and Taven with title shots for over a year. And we now can add Rush to the list who'll likely challenge way down the line at Final Battle or something like that.

This was exactly my thought as well. Flip lost but gets a title shot at the next show? Makes zero sense. If he couldn't win this match why would anyone think he could beat Bandido?  They have done this all the way back to Gabe and it's head scratching to me. Otherwise it wasn't a bad show. Taven and Vincent in a cage to main event a show? Not sure how well that well draw. They should have had that match in the Boston area.

Since Matt hasnt said him yet, Bockwinkel.

A couple more to add would be Rick Rude, and Mr. Perfect.

Rude had decent matches with Warrior. Some could argue some of Warrior's best work.  His work with Sting was great, his work with Steamboat was great, hell the Jake feud wasn't bad either.

Mr. Perfect had excellent matches with Bret, Shawn, Warrior, and Hogan.  Almost a WWF version to Flair where he could make whoever he was in the ring with look better.

Dare I also add one of my favorite's as a kid and say Ted Dibiase.   Million Dollar Man could go. Was one of the great in ring WWF Heels, but his pre-WWF work is stuff of legend as well.

  13. I was lucky enough to meet Paul. Was a nice guy to me. The crowd heckled him because his in ring promo took awhile too long and it was sad to see. I was also at Fall Brawl 2000 when he was injured ?   Always a fan of his and he had one of if not the best piledrivers in the business.  RIP Paul.

Mark Valley was basically the Angel of Death in the 2000's.  He mostly got work on low-rated shows and got regular gigs on several shows that were canceled shortly thereafter.  Keen Eddie, Body of Proof, Harry's Law, etc. Read an interview with him and he talked about how he was signed on with a couple of other shows for guest shots and the producers liked him enough to offer him a spot in the main cast next season - only for the show to promptly get canceled before the next season.  He almost became a regular on Swingtown and a Teri Polo sitcom whose name escapes me.  He also supposedly starred in more unsold pilots than is the norm (no idea what the norm for that sort of thing is).

He claimed there was a plan to bring him back on Fringe - his character died in the pilot - but his quickie marriage and quicker divorce to Anna Torv supposedly scuttled that.

I remember Mark was on Days of Our Lives for a while and then did pretty good on Boston Legal but other than that he was the kiss of death.  Poor guy had horrible luck.

We had a discussion about people who used to be state of the art workers for a while only to find themselves becoming obsolete, or not so impressive by comparison. In addition to Scott Steiner and Brian Pillman, Ziggler's name came up. Yeah, look at the match he had with Rey Mysterio in SummerSlam 2009 and compare that to the throw away match the two had at a SD! prior to Backlash(?) this year. Not the insanely bumping physical specimen anymore. Neither of them, obviously.

I don't deny he's a capable utility guy, but I'd be hard pressed to find a guy I look forward to seeing less than him at this point. It's good if the matches he has with the new NXT call-ups are dark matches, because Ziggler as anyone's first feud would be quite unappealing at this point.

The last time his matches rocked, were the tag matches with McIntyre vs Ambrose and Rollins. I have not seen his physical prime stuff against Morrison, Kofi et. al. nearly as much as I should have. Need to get to them sometime soon.

I think Brian gets a pass. He was in a horrible wreck that crushed his ankle. For a high flyer that is the worst possible thing that could have happened.  His promo work was still head and shoulder above any one else in the WWF at the time not named Steve Austin.

There is something about the ultra shitty ads that run during RoH that makes them look more low rent than NWA. I'm talking about the leg wraps or pain pads or whatever the hell they are.

I totally forgot about the MGS boondoggle. Hmm, MGS Boondoggle should be the name of a PWG show. Anyway, I forgot all about that, the Kelly Klein lawsuit, and Joey Mercury being a whistleblower. Then again, practically a mountain of shit was shoveled on all of us last year, so forgetting about all of that stuff makes sense.

I think the Jay Lethal stuff was forgotten. Didn't he hit on Kelly and another girl? The one from House of Truth (why can't I remember he name, smoke show)

Have to wonder if Dalton Castle wasn't with ROH would he be in the Orange Cassidy spot??  A Dalton-Orange feud would be fun.
