  1. What a stark contrast to around when Danielson came in. I might be misremembering, but wasn't it the fact that the locker room was so tight lipped about Brodie being one of the reasons Danielson decided to come to AEW?
  2. I "like" a lot of the characters in the show, but none of them are likeable.
  3. I know this would never happen, but I'd love the culmination of this to be Sami breaking up the bloodline and "sneaking" a win over Roman for the belts. He wouldn't have to hold it long, but I'd imagine that the reaction would be insane to something like that.
  4. That's really awesome, I'm looking forward to any of the 4 listed facing whoever is champ (Mox/Danielson/....MJF haha)
  5. I missed Rampage last night, what is the "Golden Ticket" Battle Royale?
  6. I'm really looking forward to it. My daughter is really into the MCU, but she's definitely not at an age where i'd feel comfortable letting her watch Daredevil yet, so i can't wait to have her get a live action introduction to the character in a more age-appropriate medium.
  7. @The Natural judging by the tease at the end of this week's episode, we're getting DD next week! I'm loving this show far more than I had thought I would. It's unbelievably funny and im finding myself really liking all of the characters (Pug and Madisynn are two highlights for me, as is "Shaman" Tim Roth, who I hope we get more of).
  8. Top 10 1. Eddie Kingston 2. Orange Cassidy 3. Daniel Garcia 4. PAC 5. Bryan Danielson 6. Wheeler Yuta 7. Claudio 8. Dax 9. Brody King 10. RUSH I left off Mox because IMO i don't think there is anyone close in AEW to him right now.
  9. Trailer 2: I thought that was Beric Dondarrion from the still.
  10. After THAT caliber of promo, i really don't see how anyone could argue against Moxley being wrestler of the year. Phenomenal. After discussing with Natural about Hangman/Danielson 1 and 2, it was cool to get three. It wasn't up there with the first two matches, but on short notice, no build, it was great in it's own right. Danielson/Darby is the final i want, simply because it's not something we've gotten before and I think it would be incredible. Reality though, i think we're getting Mox as champ again, and despite the convoluted manner to get back there, i think it would be the right choice. Just a total homerun top to bottom on a hard reset after a harder situation. Kudos to everyone involved. Garcia/Yuta was so awesome, I preferred this one to the ROH PPV match, but both of them were top tier. Really excited for Rampage.
  11. Out of all this, Ace Steel was the most credible badass in that moment in that locker room.
  12. I still have Dragon/Hangman 2 as my MOTY as well, but Sheamus/Gunther is DAMN close. It also might be recency bias, but Ishii/Kingston is definitely in my top 5 as well. I need to sit down and make an all promotion top 10. MY viewing of anything but AEW has dropped precipitously as of late due to time constraints.
  13. Hangman/Dragon were two of my favorite title matches in AEW history ebcause you legitimately had no idea who was going to win and it could've gone either way and no one would've been upset. I would really like those two to run it back for a rubber match at some point. They have amazing chemistry.
  14. I find it comical(awesome actually), that in ALL of this, despite Hangman "Going into business for himself" and being an "empty headed fuck", he's the only one that's been smart enough to keep himself away from all of the drama and hasn't engaged the petty as fuck bullshit. From either The Elite or Punk. I'm 100% Team Hangman. As much as the Natural thinks Danielson should've beaten him (and i would've been okay with that too), I think Hangman never should've dropped the belt to Punk (Miro was my first choice to dethrone Hangman) At this point, i wouldn't mind if Punk and the Bucks walk, but I'd hate to lose Omega. In "my" perfect world, Kingston would've dethroned Miro to clear him to be the "Monster Heel" to finally take down Hangman, then (health permitting though), the Black/Miro feud could've been for the belt. I don't think anyone would've been upset at that, lol.
  15. Upon rewatching Kingston/Ishii, it is even better than my initial thought was and SIOG v Acclaimed was easily the second best match of the night. that's what I'm choosing to focus on.
  16. I just got finished watching the media scrum and just wow. Im not nearly as down on this PPV as some others seem to be. Kingston/Ishii(Zero Hour or not) is definitely in my favorite matches of the year. I loved the Hangman/DO v Elite match, Athena v Jade was pretty goddamn good, the 4 way Woman's match was awesome(my daughter was sad Shida didn't win, but I told her from the jump i was Team Storm) and while I dislike Punk, the whole MJF/Punk angle was awesome. Then Punk has a temper tantrum and that's all people will be talking about. I admit I was so happy when he came back, but it really is starting to feel like the Raylan Givens quote "If you wake up and see one asshole, you saw an asshole. However if you wake up and see assholes all day, maybe you're the asshole"
  17. CM Punk is a whiny fucking joke of a human being. Christ, my 7 year old daughter has more maturity.
  18. I respectfully disagree. Sammy is X-Pac heat for me, but with more convoluted flips.
  19. It pains me that Dante Martin does everything Sammy can do, but smoother, better and more cohesively, yet isn't an overacting, full of himself clown.....so I don't get to see him on my TV as often as Sammy.
  20. Dear god no, keep CM Punk far away from MJF as an alliance.
  21. Watched this with my daughter and girlfriend over the weekend. Black Widow is still my daughter's favorite, but She Hulk might be put into contention. My girlfriend loved the scene mentioned above, especially about the line about "Incompetent men explain my own area of expertise to me" It was a definite hit here.
  22. and there is absolutely no question that Mox is the best wrestler this year in AEW and it's not even close.
  23. I think this is when AEW started to go downhill for me. You invested two years into a storyline to book the new, homegrown champ as an afterthought, then you have him drop it to someone who couldn't be bothered to come in with the company at the beginning(he was asked), and only came in after it was off the ground and successful. I'd really like to know the validity of the "I'm not losing to Hangman" shit, because if even 10% true, it paints Punk as a veritable cancer for AEW. I really want that dude to cry and take his ball and go home again. Outside of the initial "Oh hey he's back" he's done nothing to elevate anyone and is out for himself.
  24. I wonder what it must be like to think you can't actively enjoy the great wrestling being put out by AEW, while also enjoying the pseudo "behind the scenes" stuff at the same time while being allowed to be "on the same level" as other fans. It's adorable the level of holier than thou bullshit people are putting out there. I just hope this ends up with Punk in a bloodbath, Page winning the feud and we can all move on to where Punk doesn't drop falls to anyone again becoming everything he hates.
