  1. They haven't played in the Hawaii Bowl since 2010 though. They have a grand total of two bowl appearances since UGA came off the top rope with the Randy Savage elbow in the above mentioned Sugar Bowl.
  2. BTW Pena vs. Shevchenko is finalized for the Denver card as the main event.
  3. Ronda is reportedly at 140 (she is as high as 152) 24 days out from the Nunes fight so it's crazy that possibly her left fight (should that fight actually come to fruition) could be against someone who might start camp in the high 160s to low 170s. I am just bit frustrated from the whole situation because I could understand if every bantamweight openly said they wouldn't fight Cyborg at all under any circumstance. A lot of fighters said they were willing to fight her based on certain conditions (in the case Holm recently, very unrealistic). She finally comes to fight in the UFC, and barely a soul wants to fight her. Now you have an opportunity to fight for a title, and it's basically going to be the same situation. I think it hurts the credibility of the women at 135 even if it's not intended to be that way. Ronda is basically gone for a year, and no one really wanted to break away from the pack (save for Nunes who became champ) to become a star. Holm lost twice since beating Ronda and didn't look great against Shevchenko. Tate lost her smile somewhere between upsetting Holm and walking out to fight Nunes. Zingano fought once and didn't look good. Pena fought once and didn't look good against Zingano in a supposed title eliminator. Jessica Eye is barely holding on to a UFC roster spot. Bethe joined AKA and split two fights before subsequently leaving AKA to train again in Brazil. Alexis Davis was out for a majority of the year for maternity leave. McMann was just like Eye up until she beat Davis last Saturday. The people with the most forward progression are the champ Nunes (who has a money fight with Rousey), a 125er in Valentina Shevchenko, and Raquel Pennington. Tate upsetting Holm didn't rattle the division as much as the division rattled itself. I understand that fighters don't want to fight Cyborg due to size and whatnot, but a lot of bantamweights bet small this year and somehow lost big. This is the exact inverse of what happened at 170 post GSP retirement. If most of the fighters decide to stay in a holding pattern until Ronda comes back, that's when you have big problems.
  4. Good to see Ngannou at an American gym because he has too much upside to be at some random gym in France.
  5. Maybe she means late February because this doesn't make any sense because the Brooklyn show is in February.
  6. Jessica Andrade vs. Maryna Moroz has been added to UFC 207. Putting two and two together, I am guessing the UFC on Fox card in Denver will be headlined by Julianna Pena vs. Valentina Shevchenko. That fight is currently in the works, and there was a report the other day saying a female fight will headline the Denver card.

  8. Sounds like Elliott is going up to 135 after last Saturday's fight. Not sure I see him doing particularly well against top bantamweights, but if you cannot make the weight anymore, that's the move to make.
  9. If that ultimately contributes to Rivera losing his job, I am going to laugh my ass off.* *Not that they were going to beat Seattle anyway by allowing every person in a Seahawk uniform to get an automatic first down and letting Thomas Rawls look like Marshawn Lynch in his prime

  12. Apparently, Lawrence Timmons and Larry Donnell are not the same person.
  13. Several fights have been announced for this card, most notably Alexa Grasso vs. Felice Herrig.
  14. ...and Gerald Harris just easily slam KO'd a man who missed weight by 55 pounds in the final ever Legacy FC bout.
  15. On the last ever Legacy FC show, Gerald Harris is fighting a guy who showed up at 225 for a welterweight fight. The Oklahoma commission approved it.
