That ending was visually incredible, though, with the chain and Brody's selling/body language/perfect drop and spin into the coffin which slammed shut on it's own. Like, you could do take after take of that and never have it look as fucking GREAT as it did

Definitely a strong finish but man it felt like the timing on all the sting and Malakai stuff was way off. Took me out for a minute, which is disappointing because Stinger always adds to matches.

  2. Holy fucking shit that post match angle was FANTASTIC. Octopus got his money's worth on that pop alone. Ross sounded sincerely enthusiastic for the first time I can remember in ages. Awesome opener and main event. Tornado was a bit sloppy but fun and effective. Thought most everything in the middle was a massive drop off and just stunk. That happens too often lately, hot opener, boring middle section, good main event.

  3. Pretty much the perfect match. The psychology and selling is off the charts. I like one of the Sting/Vader matches and '91 WarGames on that level too but we're just talking Steamboat. '92 WarGames with Steamboat should be in the conversation for best Steamboat matches tho. It's not top 5, probably not even top 10 but I always dug the Tenryu/Steamboat match from AJPW in '84. Same with the Luger sprint from GAB '89.

I'm ashamed (uh oh lol) to say that I've never seen the Slaughter/Kernodle vs. Steamboat/Youngblood cage match. Is it as good as the hype? I always wanted to watch it in context of the feud so I kept putting it off.

It’s curious how tentative they’re being with Jade while they’ve spent over a year letting Britt and Rosa get exposed regularly.

Feel like there are levels here. She's done well when her boundaries are pushed a bit and almost always overdelivers but she is not in the position to go 15 minutes I think.

I still think Jericho wins tonight, even if just to drop it back to Mox at All Out. I don't know the main would be otherwise, unless Punk's ready to go.

I've been talking to my friends about this. Nobody else is really available unless maybe Danielson? Meltzer said they think/hope Omega is back for All Out, but that would be a stupid way to reintroduce him. Punk seemed to be in a lot of pain at comic con and that's just traveling and walking around/standing. I doubt he's back so I expect some sort of fuckery tonight and a rematch at the ppv. Yuck. Hope I'm wrong.

The theoretical power of shame is action we take. Among the self-hatred, do we better ourselves and make strives towards improvements even with the understood acknowledgment that we will inevitably fall again? And for the improvements or lack of in booking is a discussion point that could be neat.

Yeah, I really appreciate the philosophical dive you went here but this is what I'm getting at. If Khan doesn't feel the slightest bit of shame in how things are going with the women's division, then it's unlikely things will change. Shame is destructive, reformative, and can lead to creation. I don't enjoy riding billionaire dink but I do like that Khan generally learns lessons from mistakes. This is one area in which if lessons are being learned they're going at a molasses pace.

  7. Apologies if this has already been posted. Thoughts?

I am all for shorter pay per views because the crowd burnout really brings my enjoyment of shows down many notches. However, I don't want to pay $400 a year on AEW ppvs. They also just had Punk rag on WWE for this earlier in the year. Mixed feelings but if handled well, I'll be happy. Get the same amount or more people on PPVs so fewer hurt feelings and also make the shows tighter beginning to end.

  8. I think Miro is already twice the wrestler Wardlow ever will be. And ten times the promo. And I like Wardlow a lot but he's been a whole lot of nothing since the MJF feud.

Whatever is going to happen with ROH the sooner it happens the better. This shit is def small time feeling on AEW tv. I am down on the booking this year and this is probably the least jazzed I've been on the company but then my friend just sent me a screenshot of Ibushi saying he's going to be making three appearances for AEW and also shit on the booking lol. Is this true?!

Yes it is! Fuck yes! Let's fucking go! Tony don't fuck this up! Is his shoulder magically healed or is he doing this up Orndorff style?

  9. So if the Nets basically try to wait this out until a desperate team pays up close to what they want (and the price will of course drop from what they wanted), Durant is going to stay at home and not get paid? It would be a mess but it's probably better long term than a knee jerk reaction to sell now is it not? Teams would still probably try to outbid each other. The Celtics trade looks good rn.

I'm watching the 8/5/2022 NOMADS show.  When did Miyuki Takase go all Julia Hart and turn to the Dark Side?

Saw pics on twitter and was surprised. Was so happy to see Kyona at the show and across the ring from Rina no less.

Oh no, it definitely is what his NXT dream was. And I want them to achieve it because I do not want to watch either one for as long as I possibly can.

As much as I'm bummed that neither Shirai or Banks will be solving AEW's women division woes, I feel like if Gargano re-signs with WWE then it'll definitely take the sting off of those misses.
