  1. Excellent write ups. You should be writing for an MMA site (if you aren't already). I went with Sterling as he has impressed me the most with his combo style of striking and wrestling.
  2. Brandon Vera and Pablo Garza have filed a third lawsuit. http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2014/12/24/7448055/brandon-vera-and-pablo-garza-file-third-class-action-suit-on
  3. Dennis Hallman and Javier Vasquez have filed a similar suit against the UFC with the same lawyers as Quarry, Le, and Fitch (which sounds like a law firm itself).
  4. Oh damn, GLORY 19 is going to be a half hour from me in Hampton, Virginia in February. http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2014/12/22/7434239/glory-19-confirmed-for-february-tickets-on-sale-christmas-eve
  5. Jeez, even Cain Velasquez is going, "Damn, that boy gets injured a lot."
  6. Okay, this is the last picks tally for the year. In no surprise to anyone, Elsalvajeloco came out on top but it was by using that underhanded tactic of being right much more than anyone else. This makes him a two time champ. It was also the widest distance I can recall between no. 1 and no. 2 as he was almost 200 points ahead. Congrats! 8. I knew the Colts didn't care, but I didn't think they'd make it this obvious.
  9. Rule #1 in a contract dispute: Don't put your faith in Rampage knowing what the hell he is talking about.
  10. Yeah, they did a Rampage show but it was only like 4 episodes. He is insane.
  11. Fun to revisit this thread. In terms of champs, Elsalvajeloco was the only person to mark Robbie Lawler as the welterweight champ. The Natural and I got Esparza right as the ladies Strawweight champ.
  12. Exactly. His in cage prowess may have shrunk, but the UFC knows that Rampage drew great ratings for Bellator each time he was on. And PPV sales were at an all time low this year due to lack of stars (GSP and Anderson both gone). It should be interesting to see how this unfolds.
  13. Co-promotion! No monopoly! I kid.

  15. Is it weird that I've seen all three of Elias Silvério's UFC fights and I literally have no recollection of them?
  16. So in 14 months, we will have seen the same fight three times in a row. That has to be a UFC first, right? Actually, I don't mind as Hendricks got screwed in this last fight.
  17. Potts is all like, "Damn, can't I get a wrestler?" Three heavy strikers in a row.
  18. Josh Gross has a nice piece up on how this suit came into being: http://www.grosspointblank.net/features/fighters-file-class-action-lawsuit-against-ufc/
  19. Here is the actual suit. For fun, search Dana White. And now you will understand why he's effectively had a muzzle put on himself. http://www.cohenmilstein.com/media/pnc/5/media.1675.pdf
  20. I figure Cung Le will probably be the only guy on the current UFC roster involved. Damn, I'm a badass. Here's the law firm's press release: http://www.cohenmilstein.com/news.php?NewsID=742
  21. And in the "I haven't heard that name in ages" category... Josh Gross @yay_yee · 27m27 minutes ago Carlos Newton is not a party to the lawsuit. Yet. But he was the impetus for it. I'll have a look at how that came to pass in my story.
  22. Yeah, we could see the likes of Baroni or Wanderlai on there. But of the current roster, I can't imagine anyone outside of Le wanting to be brave/crazy enough to step to Dana while under contract. We shall see.
