  1. Rampage missed by half a pound and will make weight. King Mo after weighing in said his fight tomorrow is "Apollo Creed versus Ivan Drago part II." Someone better remind Mo of how that turned out for Apollo.
  2. Early estimates have this show doing just over 300,000 buys. But Dana told me Ronda was the "hugest" star they've ever had!
  3. Nice. I'm actually surprised that Rampage 1) did such a quick turnaround and 2) didn't pull out of this card.
  4. Sadly, Yamauchi is the main event of the streaming portion. Maybe it'll be a quick fight so they can squeeze it onto TV.
  5. Thiago Santos! Bellator represent!
  6. Let's pretend that's his only fight in his career, that makes perfect sense. Jeez, and here I was working under the assumption that title shots are earned on what you have done recently in the organization you're currently working for. Anyway, looks like my prediction for Khabib being completely ignored in the title scene in Elsalvajeloco's thread has already come true.
  7. Also probably they didn't want Aldo out until December as well.
  8. Note to UFC Lightweights: A win over unranked Diego Sanchez apparently gets you a title shot nowadays. LMAO.
  9. Apparently Dana was crushed in the post-fight press conference to learn the even only had a gate of $1.5 million. That just under 1/4 of what the show in December in the same building did. "But Dana told me Ronda was a huge star! The hugest UFC ever had!"
  10. For being Patrick Bateman, he showed zero killer instinct tonight.
  11. So was anyone else disgusted by the commentary on this show? I know Rogan and Goldberg are given points to emphasize, but this felt like they were reading off a script at times (esp. in the Rory match). Also the stuff said during the Cormier fight to make it seem legit was hilarious.
  12. Obviously I get the quote, but we might need you to fill in the blanks for the rest of it.
  13. Watch when Dana had to put the belt on Cain. He looked like he had sucked on lemons for a week.
  14. Just did my picks for this show and I'm seeing more decisions coming our way. Good lord, I hope not.
  15. That is supposed to be in the Penn/Edgar season.
  16. I see your Machida vs. Mousasi poster and raise you a Gustafsson vs. Manuwa poster (yes, it is real):
  17. I think he's one of the most interesting fighters they have. It's a company full of rednecks with identikit shit tattoos. This is a well-spoken man with massively high skill level in a particular discipline. He threw Josh Barnett around like a paper plane, and renowned grappler Frank Mir was helpless against his standing wrestling game. Plus he knocked out Bigfoot which - judging by the Hunt and Overeem fights - isn't exactly easy. If all that isn't interesting, then the UFC is in trouble. that's kinda my point. he clearly has an abundance of skills. he's beaten 4 top 10 heavyweights and is now dropping to LHW and (was) taking on a top 5 guy. how is this not getting more anticipation? is it a lack of "charisma"? a fighting style that doesn't really seem to be all that exciting? lack of trash talk? i don't get the disconnect here. Cormier started to fall out of favor with me with the Barnett match where he just decided to coast to a decision. Then he fights unknown Dion Staring and then comes to the UFC and has his two unexciting fights with Mir and Nelson.
  18. Internet currently being flooded by the "Machida's fights are always excellent chess matches" guys. That's my cue to bolt. I'll do the totals tomorrow.
