  1. Same here, plus it just didn’t have the bumps and gore of the last couple of years other than Bowens (bumps, he somehow managed not to bleed after getting sandwiched between two barbed wire “boards”) and Briscoe (the MVP of the match). The staple gun spot with Okada’s finger was funny but was underwhelming. The skateboard thumbtack spot was pretty nasty in terms of Jackson taking a bunch in the tricep instead of the back. Perry did take a pretty hellacious beating at least. The Jarrett part had to happen because of Nashville but didn’t make much sense otherwise.
  2. We got an ollie from the top turnbuckle onto a Buck back, and Bowens through three tables (since he missed the fourth, ouch). So not bad.
  3. Seinfeld and plot?
  4. He’s going to pop an Ollie on a thumbtack-covered skateboard from the top of the cage onto Jack Perry lying on a stack of three tables.
  5. And yet the worst part of it all is Jacked Jameson or whatever, awful in ring and on mic.
  6. Give them a manager and I’m all in.
  7. That’s my gut sense of this although there isn’t quite anyone like Lashley that I can think of other than Brian Cage.
  8. watching that live, nothing really seemed odd about that crossbody as compared to Riho coming up way short on the move that broke her arm. Maybe Shida dropped down harder than expected. Hope Skye fully recovers.
  9. I know who Bobby Lashley and MVP are but can someone tell me what Hurt Business is and why this could be exciting/money?
  10. Based on Jay White and Switchasaurus, God hates the AEW trios title.
  11. From what I remember, in the 80s we called them “scrubs”
  12. I ended up watching Schoolhouse Rock on Disney+ and singing along at 3am
  13. My only other thought, and I’m pretty sure it was from tonight. If the rules of The Conglomeration are “you want to conglomerate” and “you’re not a shithead”, then my name is John aka JLowe and I’m a member of The Conglomeration!
  14. My Saturday night drunk thoughts are I didn’t love a lot of that. I did love Gringo Loco. The rest, I’ll revisit in my head tomorrow after a good night of sleep.
  15. One thing I like that AEW has been doing recently (and not sure if it’s something that other companies do/did regularly) is having someone walk out for the next match while the previous winner, who is in a feud or had an upcoming match with that person, is still walking back (or basking in glory).
  16. This definitely feels like they were booking stuff and then said “oh shit we’re supposed to run Blood and Guts”.
  17. She definitely agrees with you, while also liking the character and his matches.
  18. He’s my wife’s favorite wrestler, and she also thinks he’s hot. Her other faves are The Acclaimed, Swerve, and Orange Cassidy. Her women’s faves are DMD and Toni Storm.
  19. Also, want to note there were 3 matches. All were singles matches. Every singles belt was involved. Felt very sparse in some ways compared to some recent weeks with multiple trios and 8-man matches. One more thing I noticed is that most of the advertisements were for major national brands that you would see advertising on sports and regular drama/comedy shows.
  20. Opener flew by, at one point I looked at my phone thinking it had been a little over 30 minutes and it said it was 8:52, so over 40 at that point. And then totally shocked at the ending, quite unexpected. I guess it makes more sense for Ospreay to chase revenge and triumph at Wembley. The brawl in the stands was fantastic and the little kid punching MJF was hilarious but they should never ever do that bit again. The rest of the show kinda paled in comparison. I tuned out most of the Learning Tree promo and while I love Suzuki it was a bit of a letdown. Mone-Nyla was ok, nothing special. Some funny moments from Nyla but the outcome was never in doubt and at times it moved at half speed. I can’t believe I didn’t see the obvious Mariah as Timeless. Fuck that crowd, every time I hear crowds doing the “what thing” I want to slap them all. Nice job from Mariah dealing with that nonsense. Figured the main event would end with it getting thrown out, it was going pretty well until then, very fluid. I think everyone knew it would be Darby but the dropping from the rafters was a nice surprise even if in retrospect it was obvious. I am very skeptical of Acclaimed in a Blood and Guts match, so we shall see. Darby was going pretty hard at Perry, wonder if things will get stiff and chippy next week.
  21. I’m really interested in the Mariah May segment. It’s my favorite storyline they’ve had for a while, possibly as long as I’ve been watching. I’m looking even more forward to Toni’s reaction (I’m only broadly familiar with the movies the angle is based on). Like, she was not really being straight and fair with Mariah early on, but grew to appreciate her, maybe even beyond Mariah as cosplay Toni. Will she be heartbroken or furious (or both). It’s an opportunity for screen-chewing pathos and I know she will fully lean into it.
  22. The house show circuit tanking might have also killed an appetite for separate ROH shows and tapings.
  23. I was going to mention that last week when they announced the matches, like “really, Little Rock Arkansas is where you’re doing this?”
  24. Plancha is a pretty common term outside of lucha, too.
  25. So we’ve established the Hardys have a ring at their compound, the Waynes have one in their garage, and the Sussex County Chicken has one in a barn.
