Why is Glass Onion an Adapted, rather than Original Screenplay? What's it based on?

I'm guessing because it's a continuation of the Benoit blanc story. I think the academy considers existing IP even original to be adapted.

Eventually, I think Giant Bomb gets shut down. It makes more and more sense for the Nextlander crew and for Jeff to have left.

Honestly, Nextlander is the only one I listen to consistently on a weekly basis. Giant Bomb definitely feels like it's trending towards an end. I did Fire Escape for a bit but fell off, and I've never engaged with Jeff's new one past an episode here and there.

We are way overdue for an Auburn Chaos Year.

And just like in 2013, this is one of those seasons where Auburn gets Bama and UGA at Jordan-Hare.

...and the roster revamp through the transfer portal might be going very unnoticed by many. I'm actually considering getting season tix next season, and I'm far from excited about Freeze, but it's definitely been a Freeze warning. Auburn is a minimum 7 win team next year with how the schedule shakes out.

Yeah - I think my upcoming birthday present to myself is buying some sort of external HD for my PS5 as despite having it less than a month, I am already terrified about having space issues.

I caved on the internal, but I price matched amazon at best buy and then used $15 in rewards points. $185 was a lot to spend on an HD, but I justified it given some other health choices I'm making for the month.

  5. I'm attempting to pull off dry January for the month (Made it to day 5 so far) and be a lot more consistent about my exercise. Between depression and the pandemic, I went from never thinking I'd get over 200 lbs (hovering a little over an uncomfortable 190 lbs) to I'm consistently around the 225+ mark. I doubt I'll ever get down to a more comfortable 175ish, but I wouldn't mind dropping the bulk of my weight gain over the next few months.

With my schedule, my challenges are the usual culprits.

    • Consistency (I'm kind of pushing to get at minimum 10 miles in a week through running).
    • Getting a healthy amount of weight training in while getting my body back into distance running shape until I can clear 26.2 off my bucket list and focus on weights.
    • My living situation is different at the moment, so blending in diet while cohabitating is something I'm still learning to navigate.

  6. It may have just been my headspace last night, but I found last night to be a kind of there episode of Dynamite episode last night.

    Positives

    • The crowd was incredible and elevated the episode in a lot of ways, and they deserve a lot of kudos for that.
    • Ricky Starks is just a huge star in the making. I loved the showboat-style old school spot.
    • I thought Hangman brought the appropriate amount of fire once he got face to face with Moxley.
    • Max Caster's promo was just fantastic.
    • The Britt/Hayter promo I thought was solid. It does kind of continue the trope of originals vs interlopers and you do wait the moment that Britt turns on Hayter (I'm guessing we're heading that way for Revolution).
    • The early part of MJF/Danielson was really good
    • The DVD onto the apron was a pretty gnarly if ill advised spot in Fox/Swerve.
    • That was probably the right finish in Darby/Joe given the setting and the build and the post-match moment with Sting; however, I kind of prefer Darby in the weird special attraction gimmick tag match role he's been in over the last year or so. I'm just not completely sold on him.

    Negatives

    • I found the closing few minutes of Jericho/Starks to be a bit clunky. I don't love the overlong submission selling spot. It has worked for me in the past, but it's extremely rare. (I am a low voter on HBK/Angle at Mania 21 for this reason and think their Vengeance match is the better of the two). The false finish with the bat spot is great for a live pop, but kind of doesn't work in that sequence for me.
    • Overall, I wasn't into the in-ring work outside of popping for certain moments, which is fine because I think next week has potential to be an all-timer on paper.
    • The MJF/Danielson promo ended up going too long and it lost its steam as a result. I think it was a sign of the biggest network interference from Warner as well because I think it was kind of pulling the WWE, talking segments always rate better than wrestling segments, schtick that we've heard forever, and I know some numbers will back that up.
    • I was kind of indifferent to the Dusty-lite finish. The Acclaimed is the best organic act that Khan has developed in AEW, and I get there are some bells and whistles with that. I think they could use a little less chicanery in the finishes.
    • Jade is a total star, but I'm not totally into the streak bit right now. I get they're protecting her, but I'm definitely ready to have that real WOW stretch with her. I know they're in a rock and a hard place in that they probably should unify both women's titles, but that's tough to do because Jade is definitely final boss tier with how she's been presented. I'm curious to see what 2023 looks like for her.

  7. One of my resolutions is to play more things to completion this year (I have so many games that I can't remember where I left off that I'm debating restarting them).

Anyways, I started Trek to Yomi last night out of curiosity thanks to Gamepass. (Also, a quick search makes it seem like it's a pretty bite sized entry at around 6 hours).

I finished the first chapter, and the game is absolutely gorgeous for what it is. The combat is fairly basic, but I'm by no means a great gamer, so I'll take a mild challenge. I'll probably piece through that over the next week or so while mixing other things in.

I also checked out the Hot Wheels section of Forza Horizon 5. That opening mission is pretty fun to navigate. I can see Horizon 4 and 5 being two games I touch more this year than I have in the past. Just fun to do while being mindless.

  8. I'm doing my first new year's run in awhile and splitting it up (Other New Year's related concerts I've attended was night 3 of 4 of Umphrey's on 12/30/18 and Widespread Panic on 12/31/16 in Nashville) by seeing Greensky Bluegrass tomorrow night at Tabernacle and then seeing a show by Truist Park at the Roxy for the first time.

I'm hoping for a fun time in Atlanta and to be driving back to Alabama on Sunday with a ton of butthurt Georgia fans in my rear mirror.

It definitely seems like a no-brainer. I'm going to leave it up to him as far as purchasing individual games with his own money but I'm down to front the 15 bucks a month. I couldn't personally justify buying stuff on Xbox quite yet since we have a huge PlayStation library over the last three generations.

If you go to CDkeys,  you can usually find 3 month ultimate passes for reasonable. For example, it's currently $27.19 for 3 months of it (so you save a little under $18).

Picked up a Series S for my gamer son's 16th birthday. We've been a primarily Sony household since the PS3, so is there anything truly essential we should check out? He's a SoulsBorne fanatic who also likes God Of War, GTA and Genshin Impact.

I'm mostly looking forward to finally playing the Ori games.

I think starting with just Gamepass will more than keep you going for the time being.

  11. If you haven't caught up and want to, you apparently don't have long to do that as WarnerMedia is now removing shows it canceled from the streamer.

Edit: Scratch that, it may already be removed.

Is Liberty a step up or down from Coastal Carolina?

I would think so, but I think Liberty financially is a little more stockpiled. I'd heard Chadwell tied to the South Florida job.

And I’ll say this about keeping Cadillac on staff: I get why it makes sense on a certain level, but if I was Freeze, I never would’ve agreed to it. Freeze better win and keep his nose clean and make everybody on the Plains happy. Because there are a lot of people who like Cadillac a hell of a lot more than him right now, and we could very easily see Auburn Insurrection Part 3 the moment he slips up.

I've seen a few people say that Freeze was the guy that the power brokers wanted, and it's the first time in awhile they truly got *their* guy. Freeze has had land on Lake Martin for a few years because he was eyeing this job, and he's been a member of one of the golf clubs with Gus there for a few years as well. I think the tone is that this has to work and there has to be no excuses, which means putting all of your money and energy into an incredible staff and NIL.

Plus (barring scandal), you've paid $35 million to coaches over the last two years. There will be more patience with this staff for better or worse. Freeze will get 4 years minimum I'm guessing to right the ship if he stays out of trouble.
