  1. After price matching with Gamestop and trading in Madden 15, I picked this up for $5.14 after tax on Saturday. I'm about 3 hours in and just got to the War Table.

I was going to scout all of the available areas before going to the Hinterlands. I didn't pay attention and chose "collect gold" first, which has an hour timer.

I have done the two quests in the Haven, so I am guessing that is going to leave me standing around doing nothing for an hour unless you have any suggestions.

I am about half-way to level 4 at the moment.

  2. Mochizuki and Yoshino was fun, and didn't have a lot of wandering that I expected to pad out the time. But It still looked like they started one match with the chops and the kick to the midsection. Did some stuff. Then started a new match with the chops and kick to the midsection, and acted like the first one they started never happened.

This somewhat summarizes my thoughts on this. The first part of this match was Mochizuki working over Yoshino's arm, and it really didn't play much into the match after that 3-4 minute segment had ended. It was a fun match, but I'm not sure it wowed me more than anything else I've seen this year.

  3. I'll throw a Yes to Young Bucks vs. Timesplitters 6/21

I am a sucker for good tag bouts because they are especially rare on the American side of wrestling. This has a been a solid year for good tag wrestling, and I hope that carries into 2015. The Bucks are a team that I think can be solid when they take a less is more approach to wrestling. In this match, they're forced to slow things down to appease the Japanese crowd and it really works. I really loved the Face in Peril and failed hot tag spot from the Timesplitters and the crowd really comes alive when it becomes apparent that the Timesplitters just might pull this one off. Tremendous heel work from the Bucks. There were a couple of spots that still bugged me, but this is about as good as you can expect.

At least the attack has given us one fascinating thing in awareness of this website, which provides real-time maps of where traffic attacks are coming and going in the world.

Try not to read nationalism into this. the Lizard Squad guys are just paying other services to essentially fire DDoS cannons at Microsoft Headquarters in Seattle. Where the computers are stationed doesn't matter so much.

What is hosted in St. Louis that is getting destroyed right now?

    I would guess PSN?

That'd be my guess, but Lizard Squad is claiming to be attacking TOR now.

  6. For a second, I was reading that as Plant and B&S performing together... Which would be a fascinating trainwreck.

That's part of the weird allure to Roo. There's a high likelihood that you could have two artists on your schedule that are on different ends of the spectrum.

  7. Robert Plant, and Belle & Sebastian are rumored. The headliners might suck, but I'll be damned if the undercard isn't shaping up nicely.

I think I'll always consider Bonnaroo over any other festival because of the (lack of) distance from me to the festival grounds.

Given that I am a huge Zeppelin fan and my first year on the farm was after Plant had played last, Plant being there this year is very enticing. I want to see the Golden God perform at least once before he hangs it up.

Right now, my funds have been going to just shows within my 3-4 hour radius of Dothan. I have tix to Wilco in Tallahassee, FL. I am probably seeing St. Paul and the Broken Bones next month, and I intend to do Umphrey's McGee and Trampled By Turtles at the Mother church the weekend prior to my B-day.

I also will probably see one of The Decemberist's two night run at the Tabernacle in April.

  8. Some rumored acts for Bonnaroo 2015. Most of them are what people think to be the answers to the Roo Clues, some are there because of tour dates, what band members have said to people on Twitter, etc.

    • Makonnen
    • Mac DeMarco
    • Caribou
    • RL Grime
    • Refused
    • Strand of Oaks
    • Glass Animals
    • Alabama Shakes
    • Houndmouth
    • Bleachers
    • Reverend Horton Heat
    • Trampled By Turtles
    • Flume
    • The War On Drugs
    • Death Cab For Cutie

And yes, Chaos, you're most likely looking at ???/Drake/My Morning Jacket as the headliners. :P

You left off Between the Buried and Me as essentially confirmed as well. That will be a kick ass late night set if they stash all of the metal on one tent away to late night like they did last year.

One place I saw said Mumford/Arcade Fire/Drake as your headliners.  That's just a lot of BLAH to me.  I do want to see Arcade Fire again, but I want something a little more exciting. I am guessing Bassnectar is your EDM headliner since he has not played since 2011.

Some people are thinking No Doubt could be a headliner as well, which put me in the camp that would not be terribly excited by that one.

I still think we get a jam band for Sunday headliner. That hasn't happened since 2012 and Widespread is due for a return to the farm.

Also, Dark Side of the Mule late night sounds like a great time as well.

Of the semi-confirmed stuff, the only act that really interests me is DCFC and that's because I have yet to see them. I'm possibly seeing TBT at the Ryman, and I hear Houndmouth is really solid live.

I will say that there is a strong part of me that is leaning towards doing LOCKN this year instead.

  9.

Someone on this board a couple years ago brought up this "game" where you make a list of movies you've put off for whatever reason and you watch them over the year. My wife and I started playing this, so we'd pick 12 movies each that we have to watch together. We're about to finish a second year of doing this, so next year we've turned it into a kind of game, like a scavenger hunt. We still do 12 movies each but 9 of them have to fit this criteria:

    1. A film by a director whose work you've never seen before
    2. A film from a Summer Blockbuster from the last 5 years.
    3. A film from a random country - We decided to go with the Czech Republic.
    4. A film from a random year. We picked 1939
    5. A film featuring a specific agreed upon actor: In our case we randomly chose Mads Mikelson
    6. A specific genre. We decided that this needed to be particularly specific, so instead of horror it would be "found footage horror" We went with silent comedy, because I don't watch much comedy and Silent films are important.
    7. A film from the They Shoot Pictures Don't They List http://www.theyshootpictures.com/gf1000.htm
    8. The top ranked film you haven't seen from the director's Sight on Sound Poll. http://explore.bfi.org.uk/sightandsoundpolls/2012/directors/We went with the directors poll because we're working on making a film and it felt apropos.
    9. A movie the other one has recommended to you in the past

Anybody else do anything like this?

I'd love to do this, but my fiance' scoffs at the idea of me suggesting that I finally expose her to The Godfather.

  10. I've bought a few albums from this year, but I am not sure that anything has absolutely set my world on fire.

If I had to guess, "Half the City" - St. Paul and the Broken Bones would be my #1 this year.

  11. The Artist was fascinating when it came out because everyone was going crazy over it due to its nostalgia. Then everyone had to elaborate further as it gained all of its awards buzz. "Fun for nostalgic purposes doesn't mean it's a great movie, guys!"

  12. Even though I am over-leveled (21), I feel accomplished having soloed that Eye of the Gatelord mission. That thing is intense.  Thankfully, I was smart enough to try and find the gates in the distance so I could scope them out before charging in and dealing with Vex.

  13.

I'm just gonna say it: Girl Meets World Home For The Holidays is THE new classic for Christmas specials.

It was pretty good but no Eric Matthews was disappointing. However during a yahoo search it did say rumors are Eric, Feeny and a mystery character will appear in season 2.

    Minkus?

The actor that plays him seems to only show up in David Fincher films since One Tree Hill ended.

EDIT: Nevermind, I guess he already appeared.

  14. I have mentally disavowed the Matrix sequels the same way i refuse to accept that there were any Highlander movies made other than the first film.

This is how The Matrix ended:

Neo soars into the cyber sky.  Hard cut to black.

The Critics commentary on the second and third film do make a great point (albeit it's been a few years and I need to test this theory). If you cut out all of the Zion scenes and make a single movie within the Matrix, you have a pretty solid sequel. Just to prevent holes, I'm sure there's one or two scenes that you would have to throw in from Zion; however.

  15.

I think its luck of the draw.  I hate USPS, but my UPS driver is the nicest guy in the world, I've never had any issues with UPS in the five years I've lived at this address.  My only issue with FedEx is they always want a signature even if the shipper didn't request one (no idea why), so I get the package a day late.

Last time I had something delivered from FedEx I had to sign for it. I'm a night owl, so I get to bed most nights at 5 a.m. FedEx guy came between 9 and 10. No fun.

FedEX I don't mind. UPS is always the one that I've had issues with. FedEx will leave a slip on my door and tell me I can pick it up that night. I am perfectly fine with that.

If I'm not home for UPS, I basically have to call and deal with their customer service for who knows how long and how many confirmation calls to make sure I can go to the distribution center to pick it up as the trucks pull into the back of the building. The UPS distribution center here is tough to get into and even worse trying to leave.

  16. The Matrix trilogy has been playing a bunch on IFC, and I'll never "get" it.  The first one was ok at best, but the sequels were really bad.  Lots of talking then Agent whatshisname overturning plates of cookies and talking about overturning plates of cookies.  Cornel West is on some council, hadn't remembered that.  And lots of gimp suits.

I have the box-set for the Matrix movies on DVD, and it has some cool commentaries where you have a Critics commentary with Todd McCarthy and I forget the other guy. You also have a "philosophers commentary" that I think Cornel West does the Commentary.

  17. Is the Season Pass still available for purchase if you haven't bought it yet, or are they capitalizing on us procrastinators and discontinuing it?

Also, I actually had some fun in Crucible on Saturday. I played with the first group of guys ever who weren't chatting via mic and learned that you actually have to band together and swarm all three posts to dominate.

I racked up my fair share of Fusion Rifle Kills, scored my first killstreak, and even landed a triple kill out of that performance.
