  1.

    No

The only man that could defeat Hulkamania was the Immortal Hulk Hogan himself telling the fans that they could stick it, brother

    And so can youuuuuu

    Nah. It was Yoko.

And then the Ghost of Hulkamania came back to try and haunt the WWE and this guy was all like

    "I HATE GHOSTS."

    SQUEEZE! SQUEEZE! SQUEEZE!

One of my favorite matches. I don't remember if the camera got a glimpse of fans high-fiving each other like it did when Yokozuna beat Hogan at King of the Ring 1993.

  2. Jimenez is pretty bad and is going to want Edwin Jackson money, and isn't worth it. Signing Maholm wouldn't be the worst idea in the world.

Now that Tanaka is a Yankee, it's a matter of time before he either blows out his arm because of the NPB workload or gets suspended for PED use, since one overpriced Yankee is contractually obligated to be on the stuff.

  3. Everyone talking about indie wrestling is ignoring the possibility, no matter how incredibly slim, that some indie is able to get shown on the app. WWE could even do a show showing highlights of certain promotions during each month. It would help the business and give them more programming.

In the yammering thread and to the Beyond Wrestling Twitter account, I mentioned that some indies may want to become Single A or Double A affiliates to WWE, seeing as NXT is the Triple A affiliate for WWE, if we are to use the baseball model. Also, I'm pretty sure MLB offers a streaming service for their Triple A affiliates, so that may be another avenue to explore to become the real One Stop Shop for everything any everything pro wrestling.

  4. For the big shows like Mania, I don't think so since the live gates are lots of $$$ and the fan Axxess I would think would give them lucrative photo-op opportunites. For the smaller shows, maybe. But at the point that millions of viewers are also watching the PPVs with the new system, it shouldn't affect them as much as we may think it might.

  5. Reading about the Dudley Boyz story, she was even crazier about the type of spot she was willing to do:

Bubba Dudley addressed how delicately he did the move: "I picked her up very lightly, put her down very gently. After the match was over and we'd gone to the back, she came up to me, grabbed me by the wrist like only Lou Thesz could have done, 'Listen, hotshot, if you're gonna slam me, slam me like one of the boys.' You could imagine the look on my face, seeing this little, blonde lady telling me that. From there, we did the spot where I Superbombed her off the top of the stage, 12 feet from the ground, through two tables. She has since suggested to me on three different occasions that we do the same spot from the top of the steel cage.

The top of a steel cage? That would have been even nuttier. RIP Mae.

  6. I am surprised to see there isn't a thread for 2014 yet, so I figured I would start one.

To start things off, I'd like to post the Leyenda de Plata final from last Friday between Titan and Negro Casas. So much good stuff in this match. Casas busts out a DDT into the turnbuckle, which I don't think I've ever seen before. Titan gets some real spring on his dives. Loved the story they told of Titan really being at Casas' level, and Casas put over Titan like a million bucks at the end of the match.

  7. RAW and Smackdown replays are fine by me because I work evenings and don't get home until they're over. I also skip commercials to make the show go faster and FF anything I find boring or uninteresting.

The fascinating thing about the WWE Network to me is how (or if) independent wrestling in the United States is going to react/adapt to this seismic shift. If WWE is offering any and all wrestling your heart desires for $10/month, it makes it that much more difficult or off-putting to sell $20 DVDs for shows or put on $15 iPPVs that may or may not work.

Either independent wrestling needs to create their own Netflix type service, indy promotions will be forced to run more often to truly recreate territories to come anywhere close to creating a viable catalog offering to provide the IndyFlix type service, or do their damndest to try and become a Class A or Double A affiliate to NXT's AAA for WWE and get eyeballs on your promotion that way.

  8. UK version of #struggleface

Edit: Anything Nottingham Forest can do, Man City can do better. If a 5-0 drubbing cost AVB his job, two straight can't be good for Big Sam.

Are the Hammers that desperate to play Millwall in the Championship next season?
