Recon and Sniper as the Discipline Committee is probably a better idea than exhuming the Harris Brothers for that gimmick

The Lions have extra obligation to uphold the wacky QB number tradition since the guy who's still their all time greatest wore #22

It's been too long since we've had a QB wear #77, IMHO

shame he didn't get the no-hitter, of course, but in this day and age a Complete Game is rare enough to be worth celebrating in and of itself. Glad Kapler put the algorithm down long enough to let him finish (the 6 run lead had a lot to do with it, I'm sure)
In other news, I would like to make a full disclosure that my CM Punk opinions are officially bought and paid for from this point on

The only thing that I really want out of all of this is to hear Tony Khan strip CM Punk of the real world title even though it’s not recognized, after allowing him to carry it around and defend it like it was real for two months.
video-distort it every time Punk shows up on TV with it in the interim and I'm on board

we're damn lucky those goofs that ran onto the field when Hank Aaron broke the record were just high as fuck and/or wanted to run around the bases with him.

also feel like Dallas and SF doing off-season trade business is getting it's WOAH factor a bit undersold here.

There's a lot of wrestlers who you can look at and say "they should get into acting after their ring career is over." Bray Wyatt left me saying "this guy should really get into directing after his ring career is over." Bray had a really creative mind that shined through with the whole Firefly Funhouse mini-film series that had me really looking forward to seeing what kind out outside/post wrestling creative career he was going to have and it really, really, really, really sucks that we're never going to get to find out what that would've entailed.
There was some consolation with Funk that at least he lived a long, full life and got to do all he wanted in front of an audience. There is no such consolation with Bray. He was nowhere near finished.- 8

probably could've waited a month and gotten a 3rd when some other team suffered a catastrophic injury to whoever their starter is.
[or played him, when said team invariably ended up being the Niners themselves]
though to be fair Lance probably started demanding this trade internally once Darnold emerged as the #2 which would kibosh the whole Waiting A Month thing

in news of earth-stopping interest to me and slight interest to almost everyone else, Jessie McKay and Cassie Lee have restarted their Off Her Chops podcast.
While they insist they're not retired, don't expect the in-ring comeback to be happening anytime soon. -
A Pro Wrestler's Pro Wrestler.
You want to explain the conceit of pro wrestling to someone who's never heard of it before but you've only got three seconds? You show them a photo of Terry Funk.I talk a lot about how the greatest wrestlers are usually great two-way players: equally believable (and great) in both the face and heel role. Singles, Tag, Serious, Comedic, Anywhere on the card, and they will make it work. Savage and Guererro are the classic examples. Danielson's the best example in his generation. Bayley's gonna be there by the time she's done. But if "Best Two-Way Player" was an NHL-style post-season award in wrestling, Terry Funk is who that award would be named after.
Funk was forever THE two-way player. As great a face as Dusty. As great a heel as Bockwinkel. As terrifying a maniac as The Shiek. As hilarious a stooge as Jacques Rougeau.
Like with Dusty, it's bizarrely difficult to be sad at his passing because to think of Terry Funk is to, after that first moment of sorrow, be instantly entertained, remembering so many wonderful matches and moments that put a big a smile on your face today as the first time you saw them.
It's always a good time to go back and watch a Terry Funk match. But especially now. And be thankful for videotape.- 13

White Sox will beat the A's to Vegas and rebrand as the Black Sox with absolutely no sense of nor regard for irony whatsoever.

Also he was going up against the main heels and he wasn't as much of an idiot as the typical babyfaces, so?
well, now that you mention it, he was the first WCW guy to have a moment of tricking/outsmarting the NWO when he rejected Hall & Nash's recruitment (also, one of the first guys shown rejecting a recruitment in general) and that was probably a part of his popularity.
(but really, best "new" finisher since the DDT and it was supremely protected, even before he himself was)

saying Hollywood Scum Hogan over and over should have been too cornball to do anything but sink him as lame and forced.
Except, it didn't. There is a certain realness that can come from being too angry to speak straight, like "I hate this fucker so much I can't even come up with a clever pun or putdown at this guy's expense, I just want to beat his ass" and I think DDP tapped in to that. You don't deserve a cute insulting nickname. I really just think you're a fucking scumbag and I'm going to beat you up.

I don't know why, but Evans just could not connect with the crowd. Trying to turn her face was a terrible idea as well. She was never going to be the best worker, but she was passable.
the now-erstwhile Lacey Evans has a natural heel charisma. Which is quite an asset to a wrestler as long as the promoter isn't hell-bent on shoehorning them into a babyfa...
...oh.

Owen would have been a great choice for this (and depending when in the year it took place, you might already have that Yoko connection in place?)
Owen's the best choice for pre-tracing Sami's footsteps but Jacques is on my all time comedic wrestler list so now that he's been invoked I'll not settle for anyone else

[less facetiously, Evans' best match is at the 2020 Royal Rumble, wherein she's the teacher's assistant for Bayley's "How To Wrestle Like A Heel" instructional video.]
