The NFL rushed the Steelers and Cards onto the field after the second lightning delay, now there’s players going down every other play including Watt.

perhaps an overdue and justified Labor Action in protest of their unsafe working conditions

Tennessee/Indianaplolis may be the dumbest game of all time.  Both of these teams stink, but neither is completely incompetent, so they are playing like an opening match on an MMA card between two guys who have been around for a while, but are never going to be a contender.  Just a slugfest between two guys who know just enough to be dangerous, but have no idea how to put these skills together to string together some wins.

surely a 25-25 Tie would be a scorigami if it stands?

The announcer just yelled, the Jameis experience never fails, which is somehow both absolutely true and absolutely false.

well, from the neutral observer perspective (as the broadcasters are supposed to be) he's absolutely right.

Not sure if i have seen some rush so fast that he actually blocked the drop from hand to foot before the actual kick

Yeah at this rate the Steeler game will be finished on Monday.  And given the play that is cruel punishment

I've seen it happen exactly once, Packers did it against the Bears about 10-12 years ago, the clip was a sensation on Vine (remember that? lol)

I did not expect to ever happen again, though.

FSU made it the 1st year & played Oregon Winston vs. Mariota

Tally is pissed & some are calling for us to refuse all bowls games while others are beating the drum, we win the bowl game then crown ourselves champions.

All I have heard this week is that if the Dolphins don't hit over 40 today then something is wrong with them.  So far it is on that path

Meanwhile the Colts vs Titans look to be a shootout

"if they don't hit 40 something's wrong with them" might also apply to the Lions given that they were up 21-0 before my bagel finished toasting.

This could probably go in the media section but it works here, too.  Alex Smith calls out Tom Brady for criticizing "this era" of the NFL and then says the quiet part out loud - that Brady and the Pats benefited from "the softest division in history".  All while sitting next to Randy Moss, Teddy Bruschi, and Rex Ryan:

And on this - per almost all the reporting, Reich and staff wanted CJ Stroud but David Tepper suddenly was all NO! I WANT BRYCE YOUNG! and Reich and staff agreed as to not cause any issues.

And look what that got him

must've been one of those Vince McMahon things where the correct answer is actually to fight back against his dumb idea to show your initiative or whatever

QB coach Josh McCown was also given his pink slip.

Also, someone apparently thought Josh McCown had the ability to coach.

  10. 35 minutes left in your last chance to see some PAC-12 AFTER DARK~! as Cal vs. UCLA are currently closing down the bar for good

So far we've got 3 picks, a turnover on downs, an injured starting QB, a missed 20 yard field goal, and a 100 yard kickoff return by a guy who's been held to 3 rushing yards.  Hopefully all building to one last wacky finish for old time's sake.

So did Jim Irsay fall off the wagon, is he insane, or both?

fondly remembering that running gag we used to have hear about reading Jim Irsay statements aloud in the Macho Man Randy Savage voice and enjoying how apropos it sounded

  12. hopefully this isn't the first step of them becoming The San Antonio Outlaws or something

Yes I am aware that is a completely stupid thing to consider.  I am also aware that many billionaires are staggeringly stupid.

  13. the Sharks suck in every facet it except the new solid color home unis (which aren't even a factor tonight since they're on the road).

tonight's New Breakthrough In Suckage:  giving up a goal with .6 seconds left in the period.

    while Vancouver's shorthanded.

For 5 minutes due to a Match Penalty.

Somehow they've won 3 games this year.  I doubt they'll accomplish anything else to warrant my posting in this thread again this season.

Well at least they're not threatening to relocate if they don't get a new arena [yet] so I guess there's that positive.

  14. the bomb on 2nd down was dumb, and not just because he dropped it.

that was plenty of time left to Mahomes Bullshit their way down the field 15 yards at a time (and consuming more clock is always preferable in the modern NFL anyway).  Alas.

Maybe it’s just been a tough weekend for my football or maybe I’m turning into Al Davis but when it’s 3rd and 1 on the first drive of the game and I’ve had 2 good runs, if I’m the owner of a team I straight up ask the coach wtf he’s doing by deciding to run a pitch play to the backup quarterback. Vikings just now. Same as I’d ask Norvell about Jordan Travis running the ball for FSU.

Self-professed genius head coaches/offensive coordinators too focused on _tricking_ people to show how smart they are like a heel pointing to his brain after getting away with cheating against the babyface is my pet peeve with modern football, trying to pass (and especially throw deep when you need 2 yards for an essential first down) is a chronic problem, it has literally changed the outcome of at least one recent Super Bowl and possibly 3 that I can think of, it should have cost The Rams a win yesterday (fortunately for them Pete Carrol bailed them out by making the inverse mistake), and I increasingly find myself screaming at my TV for an independent and potent gambling commission to investigate these coaches for match-fixing.

Are the Eagles really a juggernaut at 8-1 or do they only look like one because they are the only team immune to this stupidity?
