  1. Starfield has won the Golden Joystick award for XBox Game of the Year.

To be fair, its closest competition IMO was Hi-Fi Rush.... which probably should've won.

Also, it appears that the fish-eyed stares you receive from all Citizens has been fixed in the Steam beta and might be added to the upcoming patch.

  2. I should hit the endgame with my Martian Snake Cult guy within the next few days on my gaming laptop playthrough.

Now that I finally have a sense of what not to do, i can go through my Paragon run on the X/S and unlock more achievements.

I will miss the mods though.  Managing character inventory was a breeze and it was nice to make a character with red eyes who didn't act like a moron whenever someone talked about Cydonia.

  3. I'll be the first one to say that I hated Ghostbusters Ii.  Probably the reason I did not go see Afterlife in the theaters, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed Afterlife despite wanting to punch Finn Wolfhard in the face really really hard every time he appeared on screen.

I think I was spoiled by the quality of the stories in The Real Ghostbusters, especially episodes like The Boogieman Cometh and The Collect Call of Cthulu.  The guys writing for that cartoon knew what the fuck was up.  There was some humor in the stories, but they were also as creepy as you could get for a Saturday morning kid's show.

I expected GB2 to be on the same level only to find out (like others have said) that folks were mailing it in for a paycheck.

What’s funny is because I waited to do UC missions, I actually hung up the Vae Victus posters for the guy on Wolf before I knew who he was and what he did.

But that's the fun part.  Doing things first and then having the What Have I Done? moment after gaining more context.

I was a bit annoyed by the "i don't support murderers" being in the dialogue tree when you first talk to the bartender at The Den.  I think that sort of reply would only be appropriate if you have the FC Born trait and have had anti-UC sentiment drilled in your head since grade school.

If you had a character born on Neon, you might not give a shit about what he did or might even support him like Orvell if you are a UC native and have drank deep from the Facism flavored fountain.

Did you tell his “daughter”? I kept it a secret until we were in front of the United Planets Council

    Spoiler

Nope, I haven't told anyone.  Not even his clone, but my laptop character is heelish.   If you tell the Council or let Hadrian know that Victis is alive, he is immediately executed.  Hadrian rats him out if you don't.

When I go through my babyface playthrough on X/S, I'm telling everyone.   That dude deserves death more than Benjamin Bayu does.

  6. Finished the UC Vanguard mission but no achievements yet since I am running a heavily modded game on my beefy laptop.  SPACE STATIONS~!

I chose not to rat out Vae Victis so that I could get his assassination missions but when I play the mission for reals on my X/S, he is getting snitched on.

I designed my laptop playthrough guy with red eyes and pretend he's originally from Mars.  I think he has Alien Blood, Terra Firma, and Serpent's Embrace for his traits.

Why is that fandom wiki entry on the Caller in Darkness written entirely in the past tense? Are they officially extinct or something?

Good call and i am not terribly sure why it is written that way.   I suppose they wrote the entry knowing the idea was not original, so the article is more of "here are some ideas on how you can incorporate this into your campaign" rather than writing it up as if it were FR canon.

I don't even think it fits the FR setting proper given that it appears that most of the player base hates psionics and prefer to let magic do the heavy lifting.

I practically plagiarized the HoHH reboot's plot for an Eberron mystery-horror game I ran about six years ago and like the movie, it had a Caller as the BBEG.  The Caller was a much better fit for a setting that already incorporated psionics and a good time was had by all.

Blue Thunder the film still holds up, sadly no one seemed to pickup on its theme of militarizing local police is a bad idea.

To the point where the mere suggestion of steering public safety funds towards more training for police officers or hiring specialty personnel like mental health professionals to support law enforcement, rather than throwing more money towards military grade weapons and armored vehicles, will earn you the stink eye in some places.

To this day, I am not sure if the opponents of "de-fund the police" actually understands what it really means.
