With six games remaining, Bayer Leverkusen remains unbeaten and leads the Bundesliga with a 16 pts lead. Never expected Leverkusen to win a league in my lifetime. This ends Bayerns 11 season dominance. Incredible work by Xabi Alonso and the whole club.

No more Neverkusen. I remember the time years back when all they had to do was win their last match at home, they handed out cardboard replicas of the Bundesliga trophy and then went out and shit the bed.

Clash at the Castle 1 was a Stadium Show (in a city that doesn't have a Castle). Clash at the Castle 2 is in the Glasgow Hydro (also in a city that doesn't have a Castle; They're thinking of Edinburgh). But the first ever Pro-Wrestling show at the Glasgow Hydro, right after it opened, was a TNA House Show. Part of TNA's UK tour that year. There are 4 Football Stadiums in Glasgow (The National Stadium, plus grounds for Rangers, Celtic and Partick Thistle), running a building with a 14,300 capacity as Clash at the Castle just seems like they're devaluing the brand immediately.

Hold it at Firhill and main event with The Rock vs Kingsley.

Idk who that is. And it isn't a gimmick. I genuinely think it's funny that they caught a beatdown from the world's worst MMA fighter with a man advantage, and that every company they're a part of is made worse by their mere presence. If that bugs you, I'm sorry. That doesn't make them less lame.

Now have you ever heard about this thing called the Mangrate...?

Agreed with that last part. Like, I think it's hysterical that the Jacksons and Kenny caught an ass-beating with a man advantage, but there is no other industry on earth where anyone would expect those people to work together without serious accommodations...

Your anti-YB gimmick is the worst gimmick since Vince Champ's.

I know “it’s wrestling and wrestling is different from real life job environments,” such a lousy argument that excuses all manner of bullshit, but seriously…in what world should anyone be forced to work with a coworker who talked shit and physically assaulted them because “think of the money!”

The “they should have done business!” argument needs to stay in 1982.

If Punk was all about business wouldn't he have done business with the guy who everyone on Earth knows he hates and knows the story and whose sacking/demotion set everything off?

If Tony Khan blames Jack Perry for costing him CM Punk, then just fire him. Jack Perry isn't a draw, and he's not important to AEW's bottom line. If he was, we'd have seen him on TV in the last six months.

Or Tony could look in the mirror and realize his refusal to do something when the issues with Punk and The Elite started and deciding to ignore it and hope it went away is what led to everything going to shit. Punk doing what he did wasn't a matter of "If" but "When", if it wasn't Perry who set him off it would've been something else.

There are plenty of stories nowadays about fishy games in the lower levels of sports around the world, just not the major leagues. If Asian betting syndicates can make their money fixing third tier Canadian or Malaysian soccer, which goes almost everyone’s radar but Declan Hill and company, why try and fix the Premier League or nfl?

Hill's book "The Fix" is one I'd call a must read.

In the "nothing beats a good college rivalry" category, around 8 to 9 thousand pieces of Oakland University merch has been to sold in the last couple days.  To the city of Louisville 😆

But just moments after their great triumph joy turned to despair as the university announced it would soon be moving to Las Vegas.

Only problem there is the NCAA desperately wants a jobber to the #1 seeds.  And if #1 Purdue has to go against a theoretical #16 Wake Forest...  hoo boy does that get spicy quick.

My solution: make all 4 of them for the 12th seed.

  11. Something that should be instituted for the main tournament is that no conference champion is put in the play in games. Those teams earned their bid and should always be in the tournament proper, only at large bid teams should have to earn their way in via the play in.

the only teams to be D1 for 40+ years with no tournament appearances, at least on the spreadsheet I put together awhile ago:

Maine/New Hampshire (which I have back in D1 in 1961-62), William and Mary, Youngstown State, Chicago State, Maryland Eastern Shore, Army, Citadel, Western Illinois, Bethune-Cookman, Grambling, and TX-Rio Grande Valley (most of that under another name)

Grambling is the #1 seed in their tournament, so they might make it through although the SWAC tournament tends to be chaotic

Will also point out Army deserves an asterisk as in the late 60's when Bobby Knight was the coach they earned an NCAA Tournament bid but declined it to play in the NIT (which was equal in stature at that time) instead.

  13. Kevyn Adams is a clueless putz:

"Hey, let's trade Casey when he's finally figured it all out for a fucking guy whose play has gone to shit after multiple concussions before he turned 23 caused him to nearly quit the sport!"

When Crash Davis said that in the majors "ballparks are like cathedrals", I'm not sure if he meant this:

It's definitely unique, it's incredibly beautiful, but wow... I'm just wide eyed at the sight of this thing.

May I just say on behalf of all baseball fans that it's our fondest collective wish that the night before it opens the whole thing collapses into a gigantic pile of rubble with the only living thing inside it being John Fisher.

New Jersey celebrated with a 5-3 loss to Florida last night.  Travis Green, who had the pallor of a guy on death row, said it was "good we got the puck to our top guys" and that the goalie play was "fine."

I was there. Game really wasn't as close as the score would indicate, Cats were tired later in the game due to playing the night before but you knew they would win. Given they are probably winning it all I hope they pick up Girgs or KO because they both deserve it.

Also: I'D GIVE ANYTHING TO BRING HIM BACK!

My favorite random factoid about Vader everytime I think of his promo from Bash at the Beach 1995.

South Central's finest Leon "The Baby Bull" White. Now that said, I don't think he ran into many guys willing to fight in flip flops like Paul Orndorff.

Just want to point out his autobiography is one I would classify as a must read.

Back in 2012 IMPACT! Won TV Show of the year and TNA won worst promotion. Which begs the question how can the worst promotion have the best TV show?

Per Dave's notes on the best show award: Impact did improve significantly after sacking Russo but the biggest factor was 5 different WWE shows splitting the vote (remember this category is not a 1-2-3 one, only a single vote).

also feels like the officials should get dinged a little bit (not as much as Wake will get dinged) for the courtrush starting before the game ended

an absurd number of technical free throws might be more impactful than asking schools with money to pay fines

Force them to play games behind closed doors.

I think we've just reached a new level for courtstorming controversies today

By "controversies" you mean "something anyone with an IQ higher than their shoe size knew was eventually going to happen" right?

Court storming is stupid and dangerous and needs to be stopped NOW.
