His 14 yr old daughter just attempted suicide via sharp object.  I'm going to assume you were not aware of this.  The asshole who made the sign clearly was.  Fuck that.

    Spoiler

I'm totally aware of it. If he was a decent father and human being he wouldn't have led her to that, hopefully she gets the help he needs and gets away from him as soon as possible.

During the Acclaimed entrance they lingered a little too long on a "Ted Cruz fears scissors" sign.  Not cool whoever made that sign.

    Spoiler

If anything, they should have shown it longer. Albeit we don't want to give Fled Cruz more TV time, but he deserves a lot worse. Give whomever made that sign an award.

They could just as easily have had Regal self-record a video where he says MJF offered him more money than he could realistically ever turn down but now he can't look himself in the mirror after selling out people who were like family to him and that it would be a long time before you'd see William Regal, if ever again.

This wouldn't really make much sense as there's no precedence regarding Regal being motivated by money. It would be out of character. I liked that the interview was a little ambiguous, as it could lead to different outcomes.

and with the way AEW is set up, this basically means Miro has no ideas for himself besides “put me on TV”.

Then they shouldn’t have re-upped him.

    Spoiler

Is it possible he's going to be Kip's pick for Friday?

Laredo, Texas is an interesting one, but that or McAllen/Harlingen are about the closest cities to Monterrey that they could run.

There's no word for the amount of rage I'm feeling. First El Paso, and now Laredo?! But still no Houston?! This is truly, truly insulting.

So.....I was going to come here and make a lengthy post about how the death of the BCC was basically akin to the BCC becoming AEW's Nexus: a stable filled with amazing people, doing amazing things, but not living up to it's true potential, and dying before it's time even arrived, and then that video with Regal comes out....and I have mixed emotions. I'm sad, but I want to know more, and I'm genuinely curious as to how they're going to proceed with it.

Otherwise, that was a fairly amazing episode of Dynamite. MJF/Starks was great, "You come out here smelling like paint thinner and ass", really excited that The Captain got a little push, loved "JAKE HAGER and His Hat", loved the callback to Claudio and the beach ball, "Ted Cruz hates to scissor", etc.

  7. I had an AEW-related dream last night that's bothered me all day.

I had to go get Hook. He was at his house. I don't know why I had to get him, or where we were going. Hook owned several vehicles, but apparently he decided we would travel in an old 80's C-Body Chevy pickup truck. You know the kind that a professional mechanic has? The outside doesn't look fancy but under the hood it's a beast? It was that kind. Hook opened the passenger door for me, and I climbed in, and before he started to drive, my wife woke me up.

    Where were we going?

  8. People on Reddit seem to think this means Regal is going back to WWE. I think they're being hasty; this was the perfect way to get a Regal-Mox split. I'm interested to see how they'll explain Regal doing what he did and how the BCC will be going forward from now on.

Good riddance to Rosa. Glad they finally did the right thing, she's dead weight.

(Mother and I watching the Top Flight/FTR promo)
(Mom) "Darius, don't get hurt before Friday"

  9. (wife and I watching tonight, Acclaimed music video comes on)
(Me) "See, they're making fun of Keith Lee because he's frequently eloquent"
(Her) "Why is that a reason to be made fun of?"
(Me) "......cause he hangs out with that jerk Swerve?"

Thank goodness that Britt/Saraya bit was short. Britt again proved that she's the face in all of this and that Saraya is just selfish.

I am all for the hoss battle that's going to be Hobbs/Joe/Wardlow, but interesting how it's only going to be for the TNT Championship. When this thing started it was looking like it might have been Wardlow vs. Cage and/or Joe vs. Hobbs, not sure how they decided it would come to this.

Not happy The Elite are coming back. We had a good run for a while, but it's time has come to an end.

I’m with you here. I feel like Saraya is being presented as way bigger of a star than she is/was. That promo got way too close to straight-up burying Britt for my tastes.

I feel like almost everything she said about “superstars” would make sense coming from like Sasha Banks, but from her it’s a little eye-rolling.

Saraya’s story (imo) should be the comeback. “I’ve been through hell, and now I’m back on track and no one’s getting in my way!”-type stuff. She really has a very inspirational story built right in. Don’t have her big-timing the people you’ve spent the last couple years building up. You don’t have Bryan Danielson come in his first week and say, “None of you would be wrestling if it wasn’t for me! You’re all not on my level and I’m going to show you what a real star looks like!” Have her say she’s got her second chance and she wanted to prove herself where the best competition is.

The (big) problem was that her speech wasn't motivational, if you think about it. Pretty much every sentence in the first part about how she mentioned she's been in the business for so long and wrestled despite other issues stopping her could have been post-faced by "...because your family ran the company" or some variation thereof. It didn't make her sound sympathetic at all.

  11. I saw that Joe turn coming a mile away, whenever you see someone standing behind someone like he did a heel turn is coming!

And woof, that Britt/Saraya segment....why exactly is Britt the heel if she's speaking the truth? Saraya's speech didn't help her case at all, she pretty much proved everything Britt said and in no way did it sway my opinion on her.

Having a storyline where a heel manager raided the stables of other heel managers would hit a little close to home if it was done in the mid/late-1980s.

I can remember something slightly akin to this in the WWF when Freddie Blassie retired and Slick took most of his men with Bobby Heenan and Mr. Fuji getting others.
