  1. Question that popped up in my head after seeing Sexy Rexy stink horribly again in preseason: if the Bears had a better QB in that one Super Bowl, could they have beat Peyton and the Colts?

  2. Finally got around to seeing this last night and enjoyed the hell out of it.  As a huge robot anime fan it gave me everything I expected and then some.

(Although, I kept thinking that all they needed from the start was a mad professor like Kabuto or Saotome and they could have easily beat back the kaijus from the very beginning.)

  3. Ha, I totally forgot about Rahxephon.  Yeah, 2007 REIDEEN was nowhere as good as Rahxephon (side note: Banpresto really screwed up Rahxephon IMO in SRW MX...) but it was still a pretty good remake.  Never did see the Super Sentai Reideen though.

  4. the thing is i think Evans and Froome are or did drugs to win but for some reason i don't think the same as Wiggins maybe cause im sucked in to all his strong talk of anti doping

i will say that Athletics and Cycling are better at catching stars doping than any other sport

I don't think Evans did if you look at his past racing profile.  Evans luckily won because of Andy Schleck's bad time trailing and Andy's strange behavior to always wanting to look out for Frank and vice versa, even if it's a detriment to their current race situation.  Well, and also Contador was brazenly attacking in the final week or so even if the results would have been thrown out anyway.

In retrospect, I don't think Wiggins was doping, even if some of the other members of his team were doping.  He just got lucky to be racing a TdF with an abundance of relatively flat time trialing and no strong competition (Nibali coming in second?  Oof...).  The stars may also have been aligned just right too since in 2011 there were two probably one time only Grand Tour winners (since Hesjedal will probably never sniff another podium again) and almost a third if Purito and Katusha were paying attention when Contador attacked in the Vuelta.

And I'm not sure if cycling's doing better to catch dopers when you have the UCI trying to cover up Armstrong's doping until the last possible moment...

  5. So yeah, Gatchaman Crowds...I guess they needed to renew the trademark or something.

(Side note since J.H. mentioned Raideen...did you see the 2007 remake J.H.?  Just curious what you thought of it if you did.)

And I never knew much about a chicken laying eggs until I watched Silver Spoon <shudder>

  6. Froomes came out of nowwhere? last year he could have won but stayed with the team plan for Wiggins

and yes he probably is on drugs and i think the same when Cadel Evans won to :(

Froome was a virtual unknown before the 2011 Vuelta where all of a sudden he gets second.  Sort of like Armstrong suddenly getting 4th in the Vuelta before his Tour run or Leipheimer getting third in the 2001 Vuelta.

(And for you to even think Evans was on something when he won...)

  7. I can definitely see your P.O.V and what he's said is worlds better than the "tainted beef" defense.  On a related note, I am not watching the Tour de France this year.  I used to watch it every year, but after so many recent champions having eventually testing positive-- it was too much for me.  If I can't trust a sporting event, it is pointless.

Yeah, it's the same this year because the current leader Chris Froome came out of nowhere and claims he's totally clean, yet is putting up ridiculous power numbers comparable to Armstrong in his doping prime and blowing away former grand tour winners and ex-dopers.  Like, today's stage where Froome basically powered up Mont Ventoux sitting on his bike like it was just a casual ride in the park.

  8. Braiger and its sequels are part of the J9 series.  SRW GC has a combination attack with all three of them.

Trider G7 is pseduo-linked in the SRW Z series with Zambot 3 and to a lesser extent Daitarn 3 (mostly because Zambot and Daitarn show up as toys in Trider IIRC).  They have two combination attacks in Z2.2.

There's also the Nagahama/Romance Trilogy (Combattler, Voltes and Daimos) with a combination attack in @3.

  9. I always thought the downturn of public opinion towards McNabb was when he didn't know the OT rules and that a game could end in a tie...which, honestly, I could sort of see happening since ties were somewhat rare.

I didn't like his tenure in DC, but, hey, trading him netted the draft pick that became Alfred Morris, so it turned out to be a net positive for the Skins.

  10. Is it like Gaogaigar?

It's nowhere close to being Gaogaigar.  Actually, to be honest, it's not really even a true Super Robot show now that I think more about it.  Braiger is really only there as a plot device for the good guys to win.  They probably could have had the same story layout, etc., without the robot.  I guess one could say it's more of a criminal/gang fighting show?  It gets thrown in the Super Robot genre mostly because ( a ) it has a non-real (in SRW terms) robot and ( b ) it's been in SRW games.

  11. Braiger is...good for a very formulaic Criminal of the Week show (J9 gets hired, J9 investigates, J9 brings out Braiger, etc.), although in the last few episodes a singular main villain emerges.  It's a very 70's Super Robot show, too, so unless you're used to that genre with the typical old animation and complete preposterous plots and/or a Super Robot fan, I'd probably avoid it.  There's also two follow up shows (Baxingar and Sasuraiger), although I don't think either of them have been fansubbed yet.

I still have 8 episodes of Braiger left so I have no idea how well it ends yet.  And then once I do finish it I'll probably finally get around to watching L-Gaim.

  12. Where the heck do people find the time. I started that show about the Hero and the Demon King and liked it a lot but after about six episodes I got distracted by life.

I have a hour and a half commute to and from work so I try to watch a couple of episodes each day.

Although I don't watch every new show these days; I'm tired of pure moe shows.  It's allowed me to catch up on my backlog, though.  Like, right now I've also been watching Galactic Cyclone Braiger.

  13. Probably fits better in here, but if you have a PS3 and a big Macross fan, you MUST find a copy of Macross 30.  Other than the random freezes (stupid Artdink coding), it's tremendous fun having, say, Hikaru and Alto as your wingmen while listening to Sheryl as you fly around and shoot random stuff.

As for the new summer anime season, I'd say my favorite so far is a tie between Stella Jogakuin Koutouka C3-bu and Danganropa, although I still haven't seen Silver Spoon or Gatachaman Crowds yet.
