    The Atlantic Coast Conference is expanding from its Eastern roots.

    The ACC presidents and chancellors met on Friday morning and voted to add three new schools -- Stanford, Cal and SMU, sources told ESPN. It will bring the league to 18 members, 17 of which will play football full time in the league. The additions will be in all sports and will begin in the 2024-25 school year.

    But remember that Rivera's in the last year of his contract with a brand new owner who has let their team management fire head coaches (like Doc Rivers).  So what happens if, say, Howell looks lost and Washington starts 0-4?  You bet your ass that Rivera's going to turn to Brissett to save his job.

    Development kits for Nintendo’s next console are now with key partner studios, with launch planned for next year, sources have told VGC.

    According to multiple people with knowledge of Nintendo’s next-gen console plans, the company is likely to release new hardware during the second half of 2024, to ensure that it has ample stock available on day one and to avoid the kind of shortages seen with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

    Although specific details on the console are being kept closely guarded, those VGC spoke to indicated that the next-gen console would be able to be used in portable mode, similar to the Nintendo Switch.

    Two sources VGC spoke to suggested that the console could launch with an LCD screen, instead of the more premium OLED, in order to bring down costs, especially considering the increased storage needed for higher fidelity games. The current Switch comes with just 32GB of internal memory, while many current-gen PlayStation and Xbox games are over 100GB.

    Like its predecessor, the new Nintendo console will also accept physical games via a cartridge slot, the sources said.

    Other details, such as backwards compatibility support for Switch games (physical and digital), remains unclear. Nintendo has said it wants to convert as many of Switch’s 100m+ userbase as possible to its next system, although some third-party publishers are said to have expressed concern that legacy support for Switch games could negatively affect sales of next-gen titles.

    No charges will be filed following a brief investigation into the altercation this week involving pop star Britney Spears, San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama and a member of the player's security team, Las Vegas police said Friday.

    Police reviewed surveillance footage of the incident, with the report noting that Spears' hand hit herself in the face when a security guard pushed it away.

    Spears had filed a police report, alleging battery and saying she was struck in the face by the security guard when she tried to approach Wembanyama near a restaurant at the ARIA hotel and casino Wednesday night.

    So now that it's done, I'll give TWfM a solid 7.5.  It was good, but not great.  Some really interesting concepts/ideas, but it seemed too rushed towards the end (maybe cut down on the school life scenes?) and the lack of mecha action at times was a bit concerning.

    Like I've said in the past, the SRW rewrite/rehabilitation of Shinn made a lot of people appreciate SEED Destiny more.  And it took SEED Destiny out of my top 3 hated Gundam series.

    $165?  That's nothing.  I spent around $300 on the Metal Build Strike Freedom when it came out (and it's an absolute beaut of a figure especially with the wings spread out)
