  1. Double Post. But seriously, go watch some and vote for Dragon Lee. He's really good at selling (at least in-he-moment kind of selling)!
  2. I've described Okada as NJPW's Randy Orton before. Dragon Lee is a compelling, exciting face and I think that alone is worth the nod here.
  3. One thing that strikes me about WWE humor recently is how they think that being funny means you have to be a face. Once you get over being funny (see: New Day, Santino) they start booking you as a pseudo-face. Or, potentially even worse, they look back on humorous skits or moments from heels with a face-like THEY JUST LOVED TO HAVE FUN lens. When Austin was being funny with Angle, it was because he was an unhinged, paranoid psycho and Angle was a holier-than-thou dweeb. It made sense in context. When they bring it up in retrospectives, it's always in that FUN~! sort of way. This is all just to say that Edge and Christian were over and funny when they annoying, nerdy, prima donna heels. That same schtick doesn't really work as retired babyfaces. I think both guys are genuinely funny, smart, and charismatic. But the context feels all wrong for the show; too much of a blend of schtick in the wrong context and not enough genuine moments for me.
  4. I refuse to vote against Biff. He's one of the guys that pulled me back into wrestling a few months ago after I realized how little I'd been watching. He so obviously puts a ton of effort into his stuff and is at least interesting in every match. I have no beef with the Vampire Chicken, though.
  5. I like Kevin Owens, but he came up to the main roster with an obvious formula and rarely deviates from it. Fenix has had some amazing matches in the voting period, and I feel like the strength of Grave Consequences is enough to carry him over KO here.
  6. I voted Reigns here, and not just because of exposure. Reigns in-ring peaks are high enough for me to ignore his presentational valleys.
  7. The editing is terrible and neither Edge nor Christian really know how to perform to a camera. They're both almost whispering at times. Compared to actual tv hosts it's really off-putting and comes off amateurish. I gave them three episodes to hook me and the third was, imo, the worst, so I'm done with it. I'm sure y'all will tell me if Bayley's appearance is worth tracking down or not.
  8. The Edge and Christian show is terrible. Comparing anything to that mess should be taken as an insult of the highest order. Crown EC3 NOW.
  9. I had this weird change of heart last night where I realized that given how overexposed Rollins has been in the last year, I could completely understand how someone could enjoy the limited yet quality output of someone like Emma. I think I was coming at this too objectively before, and I still think Rollins is the right choice, but I understand the Emma votes now.
  10. Girard has only had one match on NXT tv, and I already want to watch him wrestle half the roster.
  11. I voted Shibata because those Ishii matches scare me. You have to be a special blend of tough and stupid to work that stiff, and I like my pro wrestlers to be tough and stupid.
  12. Anyone else notice how all of Ziggler's offense is hope spots? Like, everything. The only regular thing he does that's NOT out of desperation that I can think of is the Heart Attack Elbow series.
  13. Emma wears tiny finger gloves. TINY FINER GLOVES! Also, no match Emma has been involved with in the voting period is better than Neville/Rollins, Sting/Rollins, Brock/Rollins, or, hell, even the long ladder match with Ambrose. Emma is fine. But she is not, and has not been, a better pro wrestler than Seth Rollins, especially not this year. But, sure, let's move Emma on so she can lose in the next round.
  14. I like Kimber Lee, but I think Sheamus is so, so good in-ring even though everything about his presentation (booking, character) is painful.
  15. I have never believed anything Emma has done. She always feels like she's "playing" what she's doing. Rollins has at least half a dozen good to great matches in the voting period. This is silly.
  16. I think ASUKA is a great worker, but I don't think she's had a great match yet in NXT. I'm voting for KUSHIDA just for his consistent goodness. I fully understand this has a lot to do with their opponents, but so it goes.
  17. EC3 is at least interesting and a much better promo. I like Ciampa, but he comes across as very indy to me in the ways I don't like.
  18. The last thing that Jericho did that stood out to me was this long, slow motion match with RVD on RAW a couple years ago where they started laying into each other and ended up having a really good match. I will say, though, that Pentagon Jr. looks nothing like Pentagon at this point.
  19. Clearly Becky here. She's been an important and featured part of her division during most of the voting period producing some great matches as mentioned above. Neville is awesome, but he's been an afterthought on the main roster despite moments of brilliance. Becky's brilliance was just brighter and more important to the overall show.
  20. I really hope Girard gets a chance to wrestle everyone on the roster, because I can think of about a dozen match ups with him that would be incredible.
  21. Pretty bummed to hear about all of this. I'm grateful I got to see maybe his last great match against Roman at Fastlane in person. People sure do love fantasy booking Owens here lately.
