  1. Apparently the weight limit was scrapped again when they got rid of the Triple Threat Title matches.

I think 'throwaway' match is unfair; it makes sense for someone to fail at the cash-in, Aries is a good choice - and for TNA to choose not to end the show with the heel going over. That's surely page 4 of 'How to Book Wrestling'? It's nothing WWE wouldn't do. There's plenty to rag on TNA for but there's nothing wrong with any of this. Noone knows exactly how they will sequence it for TV anyway.

Well there is no way the Dixie through the table isn't the "main event" (assuming Spike let's it through)

I get what you are saying - and I have zero problem with Aries losing.

My problem is that it is a concept that has actually worked for them in the past, draws interest and can be used to headline of these "free PPV" deals

This year - like everything else for TNA - seemed rushed. I don't think anyone would have cared if they waited and didn't do it at Destination X this year. Heck - I wonder how many people remembered it was the time for it until they ran the angle of Angle asking Aries what he was going to do.

  2. Yeah I got the actual XBOX achievements of Numero Uno and Decorated. I didn't realize that I was missing a shooting gallery win so it was a happy accident when JT threw Shooting Grid to me so I get that out of the way.

Level 98 so the grind continues.

Of course then I remember that I really need to get to 120 not 100 and I am sad

  3. Well the trading in the X-Division title for the a shot at the Heavyweight Title has been around for a couple of years now (sorta like a MITB briefcase) so I at least get that.

But I am glad I am not the only who noticed that it used to be a HUGE deal and now it is a mid-show throwaway match.

Of course Joe is qualifying as a X-Division guy again so that makes me giggle

  4.

Don't play that record, Angus. He's not waking up.

Holy Shit! Someone else watched Angus

And OMG - so no way to lose it over that

  5. And I think that said Saren fight would've been easier with Liara and anyone instead of Garrus and Tali.  I was kinda missing someone with biotics *still mumbles about failing to convince Wrex to not get killed

If you mean the fight with Saren on Virmire - I always had my Charm so high that I didn't even have to fight him.

Of course - that was also so I could always save Wrex

  6. You wrestled and didn't know what catch as catch can means.. hmm. Not talking shit but that's kind of weird. Why do I think the guys talking about punks gut aren't in half the shape he's in? And uh I'll edit and add a picture later.

Much like wrestlers say you can't judge them unless you have been in the ring - one most certainly can judge Punk's gut when they have one themselves

  7. So totally missed this a couple of days ago

CBS Sports has added former NFL official Mike Carey to its broadcast team for Thursday Night Football, which airs on CBS and NFL Network, Sean McManus, Chairman, CBS Sports and Executive Producer, The NFL on CBS announced in a statement Tuesday. Carey will also contribute to The NFL on CBS coverage on Sundays during the NFL season.

Carey's duties, via the statement, will be to provide rules analysis, interpretation and explanations on Thursday nights from the game site, as well as NFL Network's studio in Culver City, Calif., and on Sundays from the CBS Broadcast Center in New York City.

"So many times throughout the years of watching Mike officiate, I often thought it would be great to have him someday work for CBS explaining the calls on the field," McManus said. "We're excited that this has now come to fruition. He will be a great complement to our Thursday Night Football and Sunday afternoon coverage."

Carey spent 24 years as an official, including 19 as a referee. He was only the second African American referee in NFL history, and the first to referee a Super Bowl (Super Bowl XLII; Patriots-Giants in February 2008).
  8. So who do we take on next?

Whoever wins Group H - which will most likely be Belgium

It technically could be Algeria - but they have to beat Russia and Belgium would have to lose to South Korea this afternoon
