6 months ago, I’d have said Dunne was a lock to stay, seeing as he’s one of HHH’s pets. But I’m not sure that’s as valuable of a position as that used to seem.

If Dunne ends up leaving, it's getting to a point where just about everyone of my current/recent favorites are gone, ruined or ruined themselves via problematic conduct. Not fun times, indeed.

Great shout., a very Midsommar vibe. Let's leave out the forced-insemination-naked-druid-spectator-sport piece of it though.

So many places in Sweden are exactly like that, though! Naah, I'm just kidding! Only one or two places!

  3. Came down with a cold over the weekend, got tested for Covid, just to be sure. Yeah, not that, fortunately, but it made sure I haven't done anything at all this week (either?). The good thing is, my ankles and calves finally got the rest they needed, as the slow, short walk I took yesterday, was pretty much completely painless, which hadn't been the case for a couple of months prior to that! I guess this was my body's way of saying: "Hey, asshole! Enough with the overtraining and drinking! Time to just lie down and sleep for a few days!"

This is right around where I first found pieces of insider wrestling news on the internet the first time. Maybe a little bit earlier, since I recall reading the SummerSlam'97 results then also, but within the same month, anyway! I was both fascinated and really bummed out at the same time! "Fuck, so it IS fake! And I've not only wasted my life, but also looked like a complete idiot while doing so! Oh well, I'm almost 20, so too late now! Let's see what else they've got here..."  Fast forward 24 years, and here we are, still!

  5. Wow, this is horrible news! Midnight Express has been one of my favorite tag teams ever since I was a teen. Bobby was the thing that held that team together. I have been aware that his health had been failing (due to the bumps he took throughout his career) for a long while now, but this is still very sad. For a guy who seemingly didn't win a match on tv since very early '92, he had a good, long run in WCW. Surely, he deserved better than he got, but he was a consummate professional when putting over who ever they wanted. Rest in Peace, Mr. Eaton.

Now, this story cannot be corroborated, since I think I read it on that fake Tom Zenk blog from almost 20 years ago, but alledgedly, Bobby had been drinking throughout the day before the US-tag title match at Capitol Combat'90. If there is any truth to that, look at his F'n performance in that match, I could not have ever guessed that to be the case! Smooth af!

Funny to think they would keep Ric on the payroll to keep Charlotte happy, but release her husband.

That's true, but wasn't it Andrade who wanted to GTFO and WWE eventually released him without a no-compete clause, possibly in order to keep Charlotte happy? I mean, I could remember wrong, or misunderstood something, but that's how I saw that situation.

About two hours. It's being edited this week and should be up on Saturday. I'll post a link, here. It felt like it's gonna be good.

Can you give us a ballpark estimation of how long the actual match will end up being, out of that 2 hour material?

Of everyone in NXT, I think Cameron Grimes is a sure thing to be called up and become an even bigger star. Fantastic in ring talent, great at comedy, and has some serious babyface fire. His feud with LA Knight is by far the best thing NXT has done in ages too.

All this is true. Too bad, that "sure thing" and "can't miss" seems like a challenge to them. NXT: "Here's a prospect that will become a huge star, no matter what!" Vince: "Hold my beer."

Shit, he really never took time off, did he?

No. He had that cast for a little bit and all those times he was out of action due to a WarGames beat down etc. were for storyline purposes, so those wouldn't add anything, so I really don't think he did. He was always there, even when you didn't especially want him to!

If this was the other fed's thread, the first statement is something you do NOT hear often! The second statement, I can see happening, however.

Jokes aside, when they showed the contract signed by Cena, I noticed it was essentially an open contract, as Finn’s name wasn’t already on it. Instead it just referred to “the undersigned.”

That's actually a pretty good little detail!

  12. There are not very many other NXT superstars that have been pushed or protected more than Cole since his arrival. Also, he has lost enough matches to show that he can still stay over and be a threat with proper booking. The odds are that the idea was for him to put over KOR whether he stays or decides to move on. Now they won't even have enough time to bury him. I'm sure WWE appreciated him telling them what the situation was and he's in really lucky spot at this point, as far as options go.

If I were him, though, I would not trust WWE not to punish me severely, if I would decide to stay and sign a new contract with them. They were exposed as completely inept and I'm afraid somehow Cole will be paying for it, even if he tried to do the cordial thing and let them know that his contract already expired.

He has been treated exceptionally well up to this point, maybe the best thing for him would be to cash out while he is ahead, and move on to wherever, with his reputation and image well intact. He could indeed show up somewhere else with a couple of tv main event victories from just a few weeks prior under his belt. Not very often people get to do that!

The “WWE Universe” can do all the wacky chants they want, at the end of the day they paid WWE to be there, I am sure they care not one bit.  WWE is making money either way!

Sure, but the shows themselves and how they come off are there to amuse Vince (he gets enough money from just putting on whatever at this point) and those chants have a tiny chance of ruining his mood for the night. That miniscule chance may be enough for those who like to purchase a ticket in order to hate-watch something in person. The odds of it changing a damn thing are next to non-existant, but maybe he could get so worked up about it, his head (or heart) might explode one of these days?

They accidentally gave Black a 30 day no compete, and famously let Rock’s contract expire and didn’t know about it all those years ago. Of course it’s possible.

And Cole’s contract expired in early July. He’s working through SummerSlam weekend without a contract, and it was noted that WWE was grateful he told them he’d do this instead of just popping up on AEW television.

One would think that a company at this level, with a roster (at least until recently) this huge would at the very least have a damn spreadsheet in which everyone's current deal's expiration dates are clearly marked and someone is getting paid to update it as needed and constantly keep tabs on it, but I see that is not the case. Or if it is, then as was noted before, someone's about to become another budget cut.

Does anyone else feel like the trials of Jericho seems kind of like a farewell tour? Matches he never got a chance to try...opponents from the past...? I don't mean to suggest that he is leaving the company permanently, but I could see him losing the MJF match where the stip was "Loser Leaves AEW".

If I had to guess, then yeah, absolutely. This is exactly what this is. Time will tell if it actually is or not!
