  1. After Dynamite tonight seems like Skye Blue will be the spooky substitute. She took the mist last week and now this week she's not all happy go lucky and had the big black eye makeup. Now do Abadon to Dark Order and Julia Hart to The Righteous when she returns. Spoky goth cult women triple threat.

I would need the qualifiers on this to make any sense of it. "Less time to throw" would read like Jones' time would be artificially inflated by all the time he spends dodging and escaping the pocket. Is it really 7 seconds to throw if he's spending 4 of it rolling to his left scrambling to extend the play while being hunted down?

Numbers don't lie, but also yes they do.

  3. Snaps the ball at 4 seconds. Has a free runner coming for him at 7 seconds. That does show a wide open crosser he should have been able to find and he doesn't even move his eyes from that first read. So it does illustrate what you're saying. And I agree with you. That's an egregious lack of finding your open receiver. But it still demonstrate my point too, he had 3 seconds. And that's more time than he's used to.

I think he's seeing ghosts and knows he doesn't have the time to progress through reads. It's first read, mayyybeeeee second read, then take off or get your head knocked off behind that line.

He sucks. If your 4th year quarterback is "much improved" all the way up to 62% as many touchdowns as he had as a rookie, he sucks. If he averages less than 1 passing TD per game over his last 46 games, he sucks. If he has *3* career 3 TD passing games - and they all came four years ago - he sucks.

Kevin may have heard some of this before 🙂

    1 hour ago, supremebve said:

I may have said some of this before. I do not understand why anyone wants a quarterback who can't average more than a touchdown a game.  Scoring touchdowns is a skill, and most players either have it or they don't. He don't.

I'm not saying he's an all time great or even good. I'm saying the takes that cast him as trash, like these, don't account for having a terrible line his whole time in the NFL and not a single top tier or even mid tier receiver his whole time in the NFL.

Put Ryan Tannahil behind that line with those receivers I think the results are mostly the same. But Baker Mayfield in this situation you get mostly the same results. Dare I say put Matthew Stafford in that situation I think he performs worse than Jones because at least Jones is mobile. Can any NFL QB average more than one TD a game with under 2 seconds per play to throw? Lots of shots at him being a first read only guy. Explain to me how there's time for him to get to another read. He was sacked 12 times last night. It was like an NFL D line against middle school kids playing Red Rover, there was zero resistance.

He's average at best but it's situational that he's as bad as he is. You drop him into The Rams or The Bucs or New Orleans or Tennessee he's perfectly acceptable as a mid tier starter in the league. The roster building part of this rebuild has not been good to him and he's just not good enough to put a team on his shoulders like Maholmes. But he's not as bad as his reputation and numbers show.

  5. 2 hours ago, Kevin Wilson said:

I dunno why people on this forum like Tabe were so positive about Daniel Jones, he sucks. He never scores TDs.

Think that's a bit unfair. He might be solid he might suck, hard to evaluate fairly with that O line play. Last year his numbers were average in passing and way above average in rushing. But he's literally never had a single year behind a competent O line.

He's clearly not a guy that can transcend that situation. But lots of good QBs have looked bad when being surrounded by poor line play.

  6. Making the playoffs last year just makes it hurt that much more this year when they are back to a bottom of the league team. Jones is gonna get dragged by sports media for this, but I'm not sure how anyone is expected to play at a competent level with that O-line play. It's 2 seconds max before he has 3+ rushers in his face. That pick six was 1000% his fault. Getting sacked 12 times and not being able to complete anything further than 5 yards isn't.

I knew after the first play of the game when I saw their starting center limping already they were about to get rolled. Sure enough he came out and a bad O-line got even worse. Defense kept them in it longer than they deserved to be.

Next up are... Miami then Buffalo. Fucking christ man.

Tony's turning into a bigger starfucker than Dixie.  It's been talked about, but what's the fucking upside with getting Edge?  A 44 year old with a bad neck that can work 5 times a year?  Finish a program 10 years past it's sell by?

It's been 24 hours and the video has 20 million views across all platforms. He's already getting more eyes on AEW than anyone not named CM Punk ever has. He's a 20 year main eventer who has never left the WWE eco-system. I didn't like a lot of his latest WWE run ether. But there are so many fresh & interesting matches for him in AEW. Christian is just as old and he's consistently the most entertaining personality in the company. Sting is like 62 and he too is also one of the most entertaining parts of the shows he's on.

All these "tHiS iS jUsT lIkE TnA" takes are wild. Again this is a 1B signing. He's one tier under the Cena/Lesnar/Reigns level. He's in that Orton/Triple H/Mick Foley level. 20 years of main events. How many WrestleMania main events? How many world title runs? He adds a ton of value. Especially to the segment that find AEW to be second rate because they grew up only knowing WWE. At least SOME of them will check out AEW once or twice because of him. And the hope would be that you convert a percentage of them to full time watchers.

I totally get if you don't enjoy him and don't want him to be on the shows because you don't like them. But to contort that opinion into a fact / shit talking in the name of that "fact" is what I find so frustrating about your post. Tony took a business risk. Not because he's a star fucker or a mark. But because he's trying to find ways to grow the audience. If that doesn't line up with your personal tastes that doesn't make it a bad business move. It just makes a move you don't like. Those are not the same things.

  8. 2 women's matches. I know the weird mixed 8 person tag is real odd, but you can't discount that match when it gets 4 women on the card.

14 matches is too many matches. It's the opposite of less is more booking. It sucks having to go out as the 14th match and trying to keep a tired audience engaged. It's hard to complain you're being given too much, especially when AEW PPVs always deliver so much quality. But I'd much prefer the card cut down to like 10. 2 pre show, 8 main show. Even that is a lot. But it strikes a better balance than doing 2.5 weeks of Dynamite in one night.

This highlights the perception (reality?) problem with current ROH.

    Reality is the right term.

I get that the talking points all push ROH is supposed to be an equal and separate sister promotion, but when you compare the 10k-ish who have the ability to see ROH (legally) vs the one million-ish (roughly) that might tune into AEW on a given week...

If something is clicking and enjoyable in ROH and you think you can draw money with it, then by definition it needs to be on AEW to do so.

  10. I am pretty pro AEW and down on WWE a lot of the time. And even I find this to be over analyzing of nothing. She put over her new employer with enthusiasm. That's not a knock on AEW. It's just ass kissing. It's working the office. She didn't say fuck AEW and their one women's match a show rule. She didn't say I'm so happy to be done training with Dustin & Danielson so I can learn from the real greats like Miz & Omos. Reading too much into nothing here.

Jades going to do really well in WWE. They lean on character & story whereas AEW leans on match quality and wrestling as art. Story & character is where she excels and she is going to be a big star make a lot of money.

So is this the start of the 12 PPV's a year rumor because isn't Full Gear still in November?

Pretty close to already being there. Counting AEW & ROH together the 2023 has 10 PPVs. Since May there's been one a month. Jan & April were only months without one this year.

    -Revolution was in Feb
    -Supercard of Honor was March
-Double or Nothing was in May
    -Forbidden Door was in June
-Death Before Dishonor was in July
    -All In was in Aug
    -All Out was in Sep
    -WrestleDream is in Oct
    -Full gear is in Nov
    -Final Battle is in Dec

You don't know that's how it would play out but if we assume it would go that way, then it's a serious systemic problem in AEW. No wrestler should ever be punished for putting their coworker's health before they do, and the fact that it's even framed as 'defying' Moxley is wild. Wrestling is a cooperative form of entertainment, you need to be able to trust your opponent and that kind of attitude flies in the face of a good working environment. And nobody can hand wave it away as 'that's just how wrestling works' anymore, getting away from that BS was exactly why AEW was formed in the first place

We probably just aren't going to agree totally on this. In no way was AEW formed as a result of a need for wrestler safety. AEW even beat their chest as being the alternative to WWE's safety practices. Openly allowing blading, chair headshots (at first) and way fewer restrictions set down by management and agents about match content / move restrictions.

I'm not even coming from a macho stand point saying oh like WWE shouldn't have ended that Danielson vs Orton match. I understood Danielson's frustration, but I back WWE stopping that one... and a lot of the other safety precautions put in place. Just like the NFL safety precautions are needed but you have to put a hierarchy in place to make the restrictions work. Yo can't be out here putting the decisions on that stuff in any of the wrestler's hands. Because they are always going to err on the side of pushing through. Just like you couldn't have a system in place where team mates on the field are the ones with the agency to pull other players in NFL games.

You can say framing it as 'defying Mox' is wild, but it's accurate. Look no further than what happened to people defying Punk. The damn head of talent relations got sent home because of Punk. In no way am I saying Mox is like Punk at all. But I am saying it's something that happens all the time in wrestling and it has to be a consideration for someone in that situation. Fenix isn't gonna take that chance. And it shouldn't be on him to do so.

If you're being serious this is a bananas take to me, especially after all the Punk stuff. You can't disagree with a punch drunk changing the finish on the fly or else, what, he shoots on you? Just roll out of the ring and take the count out, then get him fired for being an unprofessional danger to his coworkers

Except that's not how it would go down. Mox has the most pull of anyone in the company. If Fenix made a decision to go against what Mox wanted, even a not thinking clearly Mox, there's going to be repercussions. Fenix gets depushed. Less TV time. No segments with dudes Mox is tight with. That's the reality of what would happen if Fenix defied what Mox wanted.

You can have whatever take you want on if that's rational or fair or makes any sense. But that's exactly how that scenario goes if Fenix takes a count out against script. The refs and doctors have to be empowered here. You can't be advocating for one wrestler to take agency of another. Because that turns into politics. You'd have guys changing finishes and going oops thought he was hurt. It doesn't work.

Anyone giving Fenix heat here is out of touch.

Knox and Fenix royally fucked up. I'm still hot at both. Indefensible.

Knox fucked up. What did Fenix do wrong? He was working a match with someone who changed the finish on him. He was just rolling with the punches. I know the drivers looked rough, but all reports are neither one did any damage to Mox. It was him bouncing his head on the floor catching a dive. Piledrivers are a work. The head doesn't hit. He was doing what was called to him by Mox.

Now if you're saying you're hot at them for continuing the match and not stopping, fair play. But in that case how do you think Mox reacts? Noted tough guy who prides himself on being gritty. If Fenix tried to force the match stoped that's gonna get heat from Mox.

Another thing no one has considered is the language barrier. Fenix speaks English but it's not fluent. By all accounts Mox was rolling with the match script as is, he just told Knox to keep counting on something he was supposed to kick out of. It's a weird thing that never gets talked about. But laying out a match with a language barrier is not that difficult. There's usually someone who can help interpret. Wrestling names are generally the same across all language. But once you get in that ring that communication isn't really as prevalent. Like if you call Clothesline, dude is gonna know what that is. But if you call hey Fenix I'm hurt let's go home... how much of that is he truly going to understand?

  16. Man what a cursed show as far as talent health.

Mox 100% got a concussion on that opening dive catch. No amount of working a concussion can give you the kind of movements he was having there. Then he pushed through and shook it off but that Driver rocked him. I have a feeling Fenix wasn't over and Mox called an audible and just hoped Knox would do the right thing. I would say almost never does a talent make that kind of decision on their own. But Mercedes did it at NJPW Strong, and AEW social gets those graphics up quick on title changes. Kingstons went up within 5 mins of the win. Nothing was posted for Fenix.

Then you got Cole probably breaking his foot or rolling hsi ankle jumping off the ramp and falling on his landing. Just limping around like ti was something pretty serious he was pushing through too. Punk broke his foot and worked a whole match with it going mostly unnoticed. This was considerably more visible than that. Hope Cole & Mox end up being alright. But damn.

Kingston and Claudio was dope. Much better than their ROH match. I also thought the women put something very good together and the crowd into that one. Sammy vs Jericho happened and I couldn't give less of a shit about that one. Let's hope Rampage doesn't continue the curse trend.

  17. The only logical explanation for The Giants' first 6 quarters of football this year is they somehow crossed paths with a demon ghoul that put a 6 quarter curse on them. From literally not being able to get any points / first downs / more than three seconds in the pocket to throw to... like a really good and efficient offense. I don't know what was said in that halftime speech, but load that shit up on the loud speakers and play it between every play.

Saquon getting a sprained ankle or fracture in essentially garbage time is depressing. But only ut haf as depressing as that Thursday Night Massacre is gonna be. 1-1 and is lone last place in the division. Football givith and football takith away.

For a guy that has hype he’d jump to WWE, Ricky Starks also has the crappiest looking spear I’ve ever seen. That one he “hit” on Danielson was business exposing bad. I can’t believe Just Drew actually defends this bum that needs to go back to wrestling school.

I don't want to jump into the debate and pick a side here, but I do think it's worth mentioning Danielson always takes Spears weird. He did against Reigns all the time too. Instead of putting his arms up in the air and opening up his midsection for solid contact, he brings his arms in like he's trying to absorb a top rope splash. Always ends with a meh looking Spear. Not as much contact or sound because of the arms taking most of the impact.

About the sexual assault? Are we victim-blaming? Even if it's a false report, no charges have been filed, right?

Seriously, what am I missing? Cash Wheeler WAVED A FUCKING GUN at someone and is on TV every week.

I think you're misunderstanding the situation. Riddle made a claim on IG only, not in the airport or to any authorities. The authorities and those working the airport are claiming Riddle was sauced out of his mind and making a scene and the only physicality was officers needing to restrain him. The fact that he deleted his post, I take to mean he has withdrawn his claim. I could be mis-reading that part of it. But it certainly seems less like a victim making a a credible claim and more someone trying to cover for their own poor behavior.

WWE taking him off the road seems to support Riddle is actually the one here who committed a wrong, not airport staff.

  20. This weekend is a real indictment on those 'NFL is worked' people. The two biggest week 1 prime time games are a 40 - 0 disgusting blow out and the other has the biggest star of the off season leave the game after 5 plays. Even tho that catch just now was amazing and the game is tied, how many people turned the game off when Rodgers went out? Not very smart "booking".

  21. The two that came with The Bunny & Keith Lee were just in the store to buy with your AEW cash. Didn't even need to beat story mode two more times to unlock them.

So I've played two Stadium Stampedes and I have concluded that mode is some mindless trash and I'll never venture int there again lol.
