I was really leery of Elysium from the beginning, but I'm one of the people that was disappointed in District 9 (mainly the second half of it where they abandon all the interesting setup to make things explode).

Not a director, and not a movie, but I always get a kick out of Patrick Stewart's love of Beavis and Butthead. I think he called it one of the most brilliant works of satire of the 20th century.

Honestly this feels like a preseason of carnage. Not so much the number of injuries but the number of name players getting hurt even in practices and scrimmages, not even making it to games. Really weird.

Yeah I agree. This really feels like a summer where "a bunch of things happened", clearly massive amounts of money were made when you add it altogether as the overall numbers have been high, but I don't know how many individual movies will go down as anyone's personal favourites.

So 13 players were using but never got caught. They just got unlucky that their dealer ratted them out. I wonder how many other players are using are somehow passing the tests like these guys were. Presumably they would have better stuff than that hack Anthony Bosch. I bet there's a real professional lab out there with top of the line advanced PEDs that can't even be detected by the current tests.
And there always has been. Drug tests have always been years behind. Why else do you think it took a decade to finally get Lance Armstrong?
Let's also not kid ourselves, if people think wrestling is the only place the line "Well if you want me to stop failing the test then stop testing me" has been uttered, those people would be wrong.

Also, pretty much every school system in America now has a pretty tough "anti-hoodie" policy these days, so hyping the fact that you can buy hoodies at K-Mart is a pretty good way to alienate every educator in the country from K-Mart.
Alienating people that make up retarded rules is the one useful thing you can learn to do in school so I approve.

This weekend seems to be setting up to be a real mess, with no less than 4 new nationwide releases on tap entering an already pretty crowded field. Seems pretty certain someone gets burned fairly badly.
Critics seem to hate Planes, though I doubt it really makes a ton of difference to the opening weekend bottom line.
