  1. I mean it could end up being OK. Part of that is because I purposely ranked a bunch of movies that I thought wouldn't get above like 35%. So I could still get the placement right

I have it 5th on my list and I remember last year the Top 5 was like

    movie in the 90s

    movie in the 80s

    two movies in 70s

    one in the 60s

I have ASM2 a spot ahead of Expendables 3 on the RT list. The second Expendables 2 was barely fresh at 65% and the first one was rotten at 41%. I'm feeling a bit more optimistic about my choice.

  2. Since I waited until after the UK release to do my list, I got a sense that ASM2 wouldn't have an upswing. Anyway, I thought it had rotten written all over it once the ComicCon footage was released. Doctor Manhattan Jamie Foxx trying to be menacing? Yeah, the critics are going to have a field day.

  3. 7 years ago when Spider-Man 3 opened, Spider-Man was THE comic book franchise.  Now it's unquestionably behind Iron Man, The Avengers, Batman, probably Superman, and apparently Captain America.  That is a long way to fall.

And it's not like they aren't more on the way. At some point, in three or four years tops, Marvel Studios and Marvel Entertainment might be having back-to-back weekends at the theater (meaning essentially going against each other). Then, you throw in DC finally getting it together. That's only going to lead to diminishing returns.

  4. Love is probably one of the most frustrating fighters to watch and probably the best TMT guy. He does plenty of things right and has a trainer in Eddie Mustafa Muhammad who gives him the confidence to do it, but he really doesn't step to the plate to take advantage. Periban is a kind of stiff and you would think Love would blow him out. Even though I was trying to watch three different things at once, it was clear that Love wasn't doing that. Should have did better against journeyman Findley and honestly should've lost to Rosado. Did what he needed to against Simon. You're basically watching him try to get better on the job and that's kinda frustrating.

  5. I had it same as Zero with 116-112. I gave Maidana 3 of the the first 6 rounds. But after Mayweather came on, I thought Maidana's work diminished. Floyd definitely tagged him with the cleaner shots in the second half of the fight. I thought Maidana had only good rally round but he didn't sustain it. Mayweather was landing straight rights, right crosses, bouncing his head up with the uppercut, and check left hooks at will in five of the last six rounds.

  6. It's harder to judge what Maidana is going to do (some in part with the glove change). The thing with Broner is once he started facing slightly better opponents (not counting the Argentinian fellow he fought for the WBO 130lbs. strap), he stopped throwing punches at a very effective rate. He made Malignaggi look like a seemingly decent boxer-puncher at certain point when he wasn't throwing. Once he fought Maidana, it was straight up Murphy's Law. Any and everything that could go wrong went wrong for Broner. This is how Guerrero got his shot at Mayweather. Berto tried to be half Mayweather, half orthodox Sweet Pea and got mollywhopped for his troubles.

  7. It's not on the strip and they're aren't as tight with Steve Wynn as Bob Arum is. Wynn Resorts has sponsored all the Top Rank shows at T&M since Pacquiao-Morales II and Mayweather vs. Judah.

  8. They're building a new 20,000 seat arena in Vegas. It's breaking ground today. Dana and Richard Schaefer were there.

Dana: Hey Rich, what ever happen to that whole Affliction thing? Oh wait...

Schaefer: Don't be an asshole, Danuah
