  2. One problem. He sells security systems but every soccer mom in America can enter their domain at will.

And his kid can just let strange guys off the street in the house easily. How was this man successful at his job?

  3.

As much as I like Hioki, I think it's time to go back to Japan and fight for Shooto and VTJ for a while before hanging them up.

Just got done watching that fight. Hioki was dominating positionally. He just got caught napping. You can't do that against a fighter who is almost a clone of your style albeit more sloppy in terms of regaining/playing guard. His chances of winning that round went from 99.9% to 0.000001% in the matter of a few seconds.

  4. Still living on this "I WANT IT ALL NOW" whining by Bryan saying that UFC Fight Pass is doing great business (debatable) and they have all the old fights while the WWE network doesn't have all the RAW and Nitro's and doing terrible business (debatable as well).  Yeah I am sure sales of Fight Pass are going through the roof because people are dying to see WEC 5 and UFC 29 and Ultimate fighter season 6.

I don't think it's really debatable. They've pretty much done all they needed to do in a relatively short span of time. Anytime you can get ANY number of people to pay for Marquardt/Te Huna (happening at an ungodly hour too), that should be considered a victory. But they also satisfied (or at least quieted them down) the number of fans who were freaking out with the "why is ___________'s fight with __________ from five months ago not on Fight Pass?". Now they've moved on to get stuff they don't necessarily own (although they could buy Invicta with two twenties and a balled up five at this point) being added as content. People wanna watch Chael Sonnen and Andre Galvao grapple for some odd reason.

  5. Jordan Breen did a press row segment with Damon Martin last week that was spot on about Demetrious. After UFC 174, Martin did an interview with DJ where he actually showed a bit of verbal charisma and said he was definitively the best guy in the world. But when the post event presser rolled around and Damon asked the same questions, DJ went into the usual "well, I don't know about all that" and "I'm just here to fight" etc etc. At the end of the day, these guys aren't confrontational. It goes back to what I said on the board a couple months ago. Why can't these guys say that they're the best? I think what alarms fighters is what has happened with Jon Jones over the last two years. But the one caveat is Jones can at least have viable foils. DJ is facing guys that are hot off the presses. Anyone who isn't team Alpha Male is virtually unknown. And the Alpha Male fighters not named Urijah Faber don't have a bunch of cache with people that spend money. That's why Sean Shelby is banking on Scoggins and a couple other people to get some impressive performances under their belt.

  6. If the Hendo that fought Cormier fought Machida, we might have something more grisly than Belfort-Hendo II. He didn't even look okay by fake leg kick, right hand standards.

  7. "some money"

I think Dan coming back at perhaps a much reduced contract says a lot about his mindset. He probably believes he can string together two (or three) wins and get a title shot just because the lack of stars at the top. Then, he gets a title shot and can renegotiate his deal for more than or about the same as what he was making on his old deal. Realistically, he won't get past the first step.

If he wanted to do "superfights" and managed to win, then I can see UFC feeling slightly compelled to give him more money and give him one last title shot. But going through legit ranked contenders? It ain't happening.

  9. Woodley ain't getting cut unless the fight with Stun Gun is so bad and he loses somehow to the point where you can actually defend him getting let go. If Guillard had a semi entertaining fight with Michael Johnson in a losing effort, he would still have a spot in the UFC.
