  1. Yes, nxt having a good show is much crazier than a murder/suicide involving a legendary wrestler. Here, lemme give this a go for you:This has to be the craziest 30 days stretch in memory, that we don't try to actively ignore. There you go. Thank you. I just thought the post was silly considering the shock of that a short seven years ago. Did anything else happen that month? I think it is very clear Matt meant shit that actually happened in wrestling. Not some guy murdering his family. I know when I think of memorable wrestling stories my brain does not go to "Oh yeah that guy murdering his wife and kid. Good times." I swear I'm in bizarro world around here. I didn't say it was "good times", and almost every single thing the guy mentioned did not happen in the ring (doing a podcast?????). Are you that immature that you can't even think of a horrible act and put it in perspective? He said it was the craziest month in memory in wrestling. Unless his memory only goes back six years, I can think of a much more crazy one. I'm not sure what happened to this website, it seems to have changed for the worse quickly and become an offshoot of the horrible wreddit group. Most of the good posters that want to discuss wrestling, not fantasy book (you are all horrible bookers) and have some credibility have left. I am not the only person that has said it. All that is left are you messes, copying links, pics and ideas from elsewhere, horrible. Good luck.

  3. Yes, 2007 would not be considered recent memory. "This is the craziest thirty days in the past six years of wrestling".

  5. One of the things that I like about NXT is that it seems to be in a silo with a ton of old school influences like Dusty/Regal/Smiley/Brisco involved. Some of the characters stink and the promos shaky, but the overall gameplan is build star, build feud, blow off, on to next feud. It's all interwoven with a small roster. Feels Crocketty. Staying away from Stephanie's team of sitcom writers, the Scooby Doo crap, the egos/politics, seems to work for it. One caveat, I think it's a terrible idea for it to be pushed as a third "brand" and heavily advertised. If the model is train in NXT, go to main roster when ready with a character that feels like a debuting star, you are killing that mystique and overexposing people to a work in progress.
  6. The notion from a few pages back that Triple H embraces nerd culture is silly to me. Is it because he has an open checkbook from Vince to hire indy guys that their scouts find? The dude is constantly tweeting himself on fitness magazines, pretty much the antithesis of the pale basement dwellers. He doesn't even book NXT. Another IWC fairytale. And, besides some dirtsheet speculation (not Meltz), where did anyone say this New Day faction was supposed to be gamers? This was the plan all along, from Big E's preacher-esque promo months earlier to Xavier coming out to ringside to save them. WWE went to the lowest common denominator for their black wrestlers as usual. It's a step above Cryme Time.
  7. Watching ROH...I'd take the Young Bucks and ACH over any of the generics with zero charisma being shipped up north by NXT.
  8. Yes, they won't honor him in the picture thread because of you.
  9. Positives: not as beat up as the traditional aging mma palooka, can afford best training and methods possible Negatives: 36 years old, prior training rivals kiddie karate class, will compete with Diaz brothers for skinny fat title It's fascinating, but he would be punished by middleweights like Herman or Dollaway, much less Weidman or Silva.
  10. Good for Punk and UFC. Their numbers have been on the rapid decline due to lack of healthy stars, and Punk wants to parlay his career of being a fake shoot fighter into a real one. One tomato can to build up some interest, then a couple of real fights where he gets slaughtered. It's big money.
  11. Going to chikara tomorrow night. Anyone else heading to philadelphia? Will be my wife's first non-WWE PPV card. Expect her to be thoroughly confused and my explanation regarding the Ants and the Eye of Tyr to make me question my fandom again.
  12. Meltz reporting Mysterio is going to get a very lucrative contract to come back and wrestle a full-time schedule. Mysterio's ACL/MCL, wrist and ribs declined comment.
  13. From someone who was around "Taz" and "Raven" in a social setting at least twice, they were Pete and Scott.
  14. Just to prove I'm not Cornette, I do enjoy Kevin Steen, wondering if they will let him have a personality and legitimate chance to stand out and not be generic former indy star number 4. Certainly won't be using the package piledriver.
  15. I just think these guys are all just shades of mediocre. Nothing Sandow/Miz/Barrett does will ever make them stand out...no distinguishable skills in the ring or on the mic. At least Wyatt has some charisma and connects with people, the ring work is another story. Riley as NXT commentator is good, Riley as preshow commentator is not.
