I think Hardcore TV was gone from my local channel before that happened.
There used to be a sorts network out of Detroit called PASS. Late nights, it aired packages from the PRIME Sports Network and in either late 96 or early 97, I realized ECW was part of this. I think like 2 or 3 am Friday night/Saturday morning.
Then Fox Sports bought out Prime and literally the only thing I noticed change was the branding and ECW was gone.
ECW must've gotten better ratings then whatever Fox replaced it with though, because a few months later, it was back in it's timeslot on PASS, now without Prime or Fox branding.
Then one day PASS became Fox Sports Detroit and I never got Hardcore TV again.
Edit: upon looking it up, it was definitely 96 that Prime got bought out by Fox, and 98 PASS shut down, so yeah.
This reminds me of my favorite lesser known WCW C (D?) show - WCW Prime. Complete with stock matches from Disney and Dusty being completely insane every week in the best possible way.

Came here to post about the same. “Hey Joe, look into the camera and talk shit.”
Goddamn why doesn’t this company do that more often. That was fire and belongs in the Cut A Fucking Promo thread.
More that, fewer scripts please.

How about Roman vs Cena at WM? Easy enough to set up, no real story needed.
-
I was hoping they would find a way to intersect the two big stories tonight and have Batista do a shock attack on Roman at the end (jealousy over him getting into acting or some such). That’d give you a Hollywood Dave run and a great big time feel-good comeback match for Roman away from the title scene where they could throw bombs for 10 minutes and it’d rule.
Alas it’s HHH after all. Which I mean heel Dave is the shit so it’ll be fine.

Well that’s something.
Hey look over there, it’s a Big Daddy V ECW squash!
Ah, better...

If they run Ciampa/Gargano back as the Takeover NY main they have to take it to HIAC, don’t they? What’s left?
Dream/Riddle fascinated me stylistically. I have no idea how that would turn out, which is why they might be adding Cole and making it a three way.

I know several of us have been clamoring for the New Day main event title run for years. Feels like every Rumble prediction thread every year is half this and it’s universally seen as “a good idea” that will “never happen”.
Well they’ve stumbled upon it in an ass backward way and it’s Kofi and not E (the name most use when talking about this), but here we are and it’s over as shit! They have to run with this, I think. Do the obvious thing, have Harper cost Kofi the match at the PPV, have a bunch of big ass six mans in the lead up, and let New Day do this.

I thought for sure Bray Wyatt would be coming back from Carcosa or wherever last night given they were in Lafayette.

Random Note. At work tonight ain't was thinking how if I was booking in 2019 I would re-do the York Foundation gimmick, what with the anaylitics crowds in sports right now. And I would totally make WAR the primary stat the stable cared about, but instead of Wins Above Replacement as it is in baseball, it would be Wins Above Rotunda.
Who’s the most “replacement level” wrestler? Has to be mid card, can move up for the occasional cup of high card coffee. Good but not great on the ring. Just fungible as hell.
Rotunda is a really good choice as the quintessential 0 WAR wrestler. I was going to suggest Terry Taylor.
Of the current crop, maybe Alica Fox.

Thing I didn’t think I’d say yesterday:
“Tomasso Ciampa gets the hot tag”

Say what y’all want, that first shot of Mike Tarver in the crowd during the Nexus intro is a top 5 WWE camera shot for me. That moment went from “what is this?” To “Oh shit!”

Taken from No Mercy 2002 with two great matches: Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker inside Hell in a Cell with 'Taker bleeding heavy and Kurt Angle/Chris Benoit vs. Edgr/Rey Mysterio.
For the record that is the best HIAC match ever
re: Raw news- Lord knows that show needs some kind of shakeup on the men’s side. Outside of Elias and Balor the singles scene is a total black hole of suck.

I’m not that hip to BTE but if AEW really did sign The Yet-tay that’s a game changer

Fantasy booking warning.
New Day vs Bryan/Rowan/Harper at Fastlane. Kofi pins Bryan
Four way number one contenders match at WM: Samoa Joe beats Rey, Orton, Hardy
Kofi pins Bryan at WM. Bryan drafted to Raw to feud Rollins.
Joe pins Kofi at Backlash when Usos turn heel and interfere. Jealous of New Day getting the HW title when they are better than them, etc.
New Joe/Usos faction vs New Day six mans carry SD through the Spring.
Joe drops title to whoever the new Guy on SD will be in the Summer.

For the record I can’t say the name of this show without doing so in Eric Biscoff’s voice after about two decades of that same video package

Eddie is the greatest of all time. Face, heel, flying, brawling, grappling, talking. Just fantastic at absolutely every element of being a pro wrestler.

That crowd was something huh.
I mean Omega/Jericho isn't the most creative option to kick this thing off, but no denying it functions as a good main for the first show.
-
After a strong show last week, this was so bad.
Only positive worth mentioning is how much better Elias is a heel. Its a shame they don't have a TV title because his act of coming out, heeling on the crowd, facing the challenger of the week and sleazing his way to a win (or better yet a time limit draw) is perfect for a belt like that.

How can you not love this. It’s Do Fixer vs Blood Generation at a Mid South taping filmed at Irish McNeil's Boys Club in Shreveport

Side note: I thought that the Phoenix crowd was fantastic every night this weekend. Engaged and into everything and yes a little clever at times but nothing over the top like past traveling crowds.

Wouldn't it be amazing if Joe got booking which backed up his amazing promo skills and swagger? I've made the comparison before, but its like how he and Becky are both great promos, but only Becky got booking which convinced fans they were right to believe everything she says because she could be seen as backing everything up, rather than Joe's style of great promos then losing the big match.
He really should have had a title run last year.
I think they left some money on the table not running with a Joe / Usos heel stable that runs wild on Smackdown with the belts. I know Joe isn’t part of the clan technically but all three of those dudes carry themselves with amazing swagger and would have crushed promos and six man tags. Merch with whatever name they gave themselves would have sold big.
Maybe they can still do this.

NXT - March 2019
in WWE PROGRAMMING

If you really want to appease the internet fans that NXT is largely booked for you can swerve with Harper going down while he has nothing else going on and running with the belt for a few months having great matches with everyone before putting e.g. Riddle over strong at the Spring Takeover and heading back up.
