PWI is reporting that Jelly Roll's program at SummerSlam will be with

    Spoiler

    Logan Paul.

I'm just assuming it'll be a tag match with Miz and/or Truth so JR can have his hand held throughout.

  2. I'd venture a guess that him being fired (through whatever means that takes) would trigger some kind of payment clause where they have to pay out his contract and if he resigns they keep that money.  So...   yeah.   Fire me, I'm already fired.

  3. Oh hey, NXT is having a show this weekend!  And in Atlanta too!

Surely if Mox is going to get any comeuppance, it's going to involve Danielson, right?

    Right?

I mean, this is pro wrestling.  It's a coin flip on if Bryan comes out and Knee Plus's Hangman repeatedly, costs him the title, and joins the Riders.

Is it too spoilery to ask if there is a Gunn movie moment where you will weep for an animal in the movie?

    Spoiler

An animal?  No.  A robot?  Maybe.  (Actually...  depending on how good a boy you think Krypto is, you'll definitely well up. NOTE -- He is a very good boy.)

There's report of a scene needing to be changed at the last minute because during the fight you see in the trailer, Krypto gets punched by either Ultraman or The Engineer.  Test audiences were so horrified, that Gunn changed it.  Engineer traps him with nanites instead.

Krypto is indeed Superman's dog, launched into space as a test subject by Jor-El, and arriving on earth during Clark's time as Superboy.  Lotta weird time dilation with these rocket launches from Krypton.

    Spoiler

Well... In this movie, Krypto's Kal-el's dog inasmuch as...  nah, I won't spoil it.   🙂

Dolfan in NYC, non spoiler questions:

How was David Corensweat as Kal-El/Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor?

Can't help but ask how the three compare to their predecessors in their parts?

Ditto past Superman films to Superman (2025)?

I've never been big on James Gunn as the majority are particularly Guardians of the Galaxy. I thought Gunn would do a good job but I was concerned how he'd write Superman as Superman is so different to GOTG, The Sucide Squad and Gunn has his Gunnisms. Did he manage to control those?

    Thanks, Kelvin.

Corenswet is pitch perfect as Clark. Earnest, funny, charming.  You can feel the care and love for all pouring from him. He's the best Kal-el since Reeve.

Brosnahan does a great job with Lois. I had a thought about that scene in the trailer with her 'interviewing Superman' but I was wrong about it, once you see it I'll explain. She's a strong character without making Clark look like an idiot. Her stuff with the Justice Gang, and Mr. Terrific in particular, was very fun.

Hoult... part of it is the writing, but he's the best Lex I've seen on the screen. Unrepentantly evil, deeply angry, humorless, but just enough charm to let you see how people would be drawn to him.

This is the best Superman movie since Superman I & II, easily.

This is 100% a James Gunn movie, so you see the Gunn-isms in there.  But this is an extremely tight movie. MCU movies as of late have had a lot of conversations that are just filler.  Characters quipping, arguing, and generally not moving the plot forward.  You can see how everything that's said keeps the story moving along and/or builds the characters on screen.

    Enjoy your show!

  8. Okay, had a night to think it over... here's what I thought:

    Spoiler

First off, I want to apologize to any Snyder-verse people.  You're going to HATE this.

    Anywho....

No origin story~~  Thank god.   Like Gunn says, we've all done this enough. And Gunn, god damn... what a good job he did.  This feels like a comic book (complimentary) and not like a comic book movie (derogatory).  Characters really get what their motivations are, it's shot beautifully. It's colorful, it's vibrant, and it's FULL of love.

Krypto was an incredibly good addition.  Perfect for this incarnation of Kal-el.  Because of course Superman would get really really mad if you did something to his(?) dog. Speaking of this edition, there's a rather big Kingdom Come tease, but we'd be at least 10 years before we get to that.

Nathan Fillion is great as Gardner.  He's arrogant, ill-tempered, and thinks he's more of a leader than he is.  If he's in Peacemaker for more than a scene, it's gonna be awesome.  Nicholas Hoult gets the Lex Luthor character more than, maybe anyone in a live action movie. He's brilliant, he's unapologetically evil, ENVIOUS, and will risk everything to destroy Superman.  It also speaks to Edi Gathegi's talent and performance that he gets third billing.  Who would have thought a Superman movie would hinge on the performance of Mr. Terrific.

While the movie is filled with metahumans and super-powered beings, it does not feel over-stuffed.  Luthor knows he's going to have to get outside help if he wants to kill Superman.  The Engineer and Ultraman fit that need perfectly.

Clark gives monologues that are absolutely perfect for his character.  Absolutely confirm him as the moral center of this universe and would just be weird coming from anyone else.  He's not sarcastic, he's not cynical, he's not confused, he's fucking Superman.

"I thought we could take it to a zoo."  Oh Clark.❤️

I'll leave specifics and real spoilers to other posts.   (Like hypno-glasses.) 🙂

Get out and see this on as big a screen as you possibly can.
