  1.

(I've been pimping Green Arrow/Black Canary like mad) but can't find anything we both like.

Sounds like something that way too many people will think is an awesome idea for a con in Seattle.  Go as Count Vertigo and Lady Shiva and interact with them.

What else has been suggested and what is the problem with those ideas?

Leon & Ada from Resident Evil 4 (but she's not a big RE fan). Mako & Korra from Legend Of Korra (I've never seen the show and have no idea who they are). Howl & Sophie from Howl's Moving Castle (this is the front runner right now I think but neither of us are overly enthused about it).

Hawaiian shirt Joker and Barbara Gordon in a wheelchair.

Ooooh. We may have a winner. Thanks Pete. Never thought of The Killing Joke. I am ashamed of myself.

  2. My girlfriend and I are planning our costumes for Seattle's comic con next year (she wants to make them rather than just buy or rent them so we need time for that). Since it's 3 days we agreed that I could pick 1, she could pick 1 and then we would have to agree on a 3rd. We've picked our two (Darryl/Andrea from Walking Dead was mine and Peeta/Katniss from Hunger Games was hers) but we still haven't decided on a 3rd. Can anyone offer some (legitimate) suggestions? It's gonna be crowded as fuck so we don't want anything where one of us would have to wear anything that would make us hot in a huge crowd (so no dressing up as Batman, Joker, etc).

We've batted around a couple ideas (I've been pimping Green Arrow/Black Canary like mad) but can't find anything we both like. Can anyone offer some suggestions? Maybe a costume you've done yourself before or one you saw at a Con?

  3. Wait, the Freebirds had a WWF run?  When did I miss that?

Tim White told the story when he was on Austin's podcast. Basically after they showed up drunker than shit and in no condition to work to a couple shows, Andre told them they were fired. Hayes (being obviously young and VERY stupid to mouth off to Andre) told him he had no authority to fire them. Andre told them he would tell the office the next day that either the Freebirds get fired or he quits. Freebirds were fired the next day.

  4. Siberia this week:

The nomad tribe shot down a helicopter?  Ok then.

Model chick has to be the absolutley dumbest bitch in existance, not only still "playing the game", but believing that slimy insane DJ dude would be believed when it came down to the revealer key, so she let him go... AFTER HE TRIED TO KILL SOMEONE ALREADY... AND SHE DRUGGED THE FUCKING GROUP.  Mossad chick needs to start snapping necks.

And its obivious that Sam or injured chick is the one that dies next week.

Yeah this week's episode would have been much better if they had just had the rugby dude beat creepy little DJ dude into the ground until he was just a puddle of red goo. And fuck them for what I know will happen, the eventual death of my favorite character (Sam). Fuck them all. That episode had better come with Esther getting her comeuppance or I'll be pissed.

  5. So, the WHODUNNIT finale played out like I thought it would, with the killer being someone who would have never actually been able to do things the way it was supposed to have happened.I'm OK with who won, and actually feel a little bad for the one that didn't.

Yeah, he was the best player and deserved to win. Makes you wonder what would have happened if the teams constructed themselves a little differently...
I thought he came across like a smug asshole and I was rooting for anyone but him. How Lindsay made it to the final 3 (and works as an engineer) I will never know as she doesn't seem like she could find her own ass if you gave her a map. The killer reveal was very anti-climactic too.
  6.

I hope they wrap up Siberia this season, cuz it's not looking good for a season 2. The last episode had 1.8 million viewers. For comparison, Under The Dome had over 10 million.

Like Raziel said, the format of this show only lends itself one season anyway.

You could say the same thing about Under The Dome, but that's getting a second season.

  7.

if you can live with shitty traffic it's a great place to live. As far as the rain, yeah it rains a lot but it's rarely so bad it gets in your way.

My cousin has told me to just sell my car and use the bus to get everywhere.

That's actually a good idea. I have a friend who lives in Seattle and neither he nor his wife has a car. He's quite happy with taking the bus or walking.

  8. The traffic is shitty, but other than that this is a beautiful place to live (I live about 30-45 minutes north of Seattle). There's a ton of great places for hiking if that's your thing. The eastern part of washington actually has a different climate from the western part. Eastern Washington typically gets 300 days of sunshine a year (though summers in western washington are still pretty nice - it usually gets into the high 80s). As J.T. said, Vancouver isn't that far away and is an easy day trip. If you're into sports, there's the Seahawks and Mariners as well as a couple minor league baseball teams and a minor league hockey team. WWE typically comes here a couple times a year and TNA usually once a year but other than that the wrestling scene is terrible. UFC has been here a few times too. There's a big outlet mall in the city I live in, which as I said is 30-45 minutes north of seattle. Seattle's got a nice zoo and aquarium, and you'll fall in love with Pike Place Market when you go there. We also have a yearly comic-con which is pretty popular and getting bigger each year (this year's had Patrick Stewart as the marquee name). There's no shortage of stuff to do around here, and if you can live with shitty traffic it's a great place to live. As far as the rain, yeah it rains a lot but it's rarely so bad it gets in your way.

And yeah there's lots of hipsters but they're tolerable.

  9. I remember hating the shit out of New Nightmare when I was younger. Thanks to the pimping it received in this thread I gave it a re-watch and boy was I ever wrong. So a big thanks to all of you that talked it up.

  10. You know, if you look at the whole angle, Eric Young's a pretty shitty husband. Since the wedding, how many times have Young and ODB even been in the same building together? She goes months without hearing from him, he shows back up acting all hollywood, turns normal again, disappears again, shows back up, disappears again, shows up again but has more interest in a fat sweaty guy in a track suit than his wife. God damn. ODB deserves better than that.

Didn't watch Smackdown but now I want to see that main event. My jaw dropped at that gif, so kudos to two guys I'm never impressed by, impressing the hell out of me in one single move sequence. That happened before in a 2007 match you say? Will check that out. Honestly don't remember them even wrestling before.

RVD's last match in his first WWE run was a stretcher match against Orton on one of the PPVs. I want to say it's the first time (or one of the first few times) Orton used the punt kick.

*edit* How the hell do I get my response out of the quote window?

    Got it. Thanks.
