  1. I really love how Orton has been written over the last month or two. He went from being boring to pretty funny at times saying shit we all know is true about Batista.

HHH has been just as good, if not better, though. Basically everything Jae said and then some. I don't give a crap about "the ass kicker." I want the Cerebral Assassin. My only fear now is that with two weeks left, they shot this big angle too soon and now we'll get some mundane crap the next two weeks.

And I felt like a kid again marking out for the Lawler/Kane/Shield segment. Creative did what most people wanted and that was a face turn for the Shield. Last night solidified that. So everyone wins. The Shield stays together, they turn face, they stay badasses, and they don't smile all that much for WWE faces. Oh, and Reigns' OOOOOOOOOOH WAAAAAAAAAAAH before the triple powerbomb was awesome.

Fuck it. I've changed my mind about the Undertaker. I want a new streak started with Reigns as the heir apparent.

  2. Man, I just don't know which way to vote. At the start of this thing, I was firmly aboard the Cesaro train, but the more I think of it, Cesaro just started heating up within the last 3 to 4 months and prior to that he was just a tag team dude with Swagger. I mean, he was a good tag team dude, but still, it was a little bland.

Reigns has been consistently good and has even gotten better throughout the year. His highest highs may not be as good as Cesaro's, but I think Reigns has had the better overall year. Everything he does is so f'n good, especially that Superman Punch. His OOOOOOOOOOOOH WAAAAAAAAAAAH trumps Cesaro's neck crank. Cesaro, however, did have the brilliant one on one interview with Zayn from NXT, but I don't know if that fell in the voting period or not.

I think I have to change my mind here and vote Reigns, but I feel like doing so makes the finals completely one-sided. It's a tough vote for me. I'll think about this a bit and vote later.

  3. Craig, when you recover from the stroke, I want to tell you that it's a beautiful post.

The phrase "siphoning-of-heat segment" needs to catch on, big-time.

The closest personal approximation was when I had to hold an open gallery to display my artwork before I graduated and a friend and their fiancee came and the discussion became about their engagement. Motherfucks siphoning my heat.

  4.

The legend of HHH is such that people who hate him will fear he will find a way to go over even if him losing is the only outcome that makes any sense. He's done it often enough to make people think he might, but doesn't do it all the time so, unlike TNA, people don't approach a promising angle with the dreadful certainty that he will ruin it.

TNA would give him the belt because they want to swerve all the people who expect them not to give it to him. But then they would decide not to because we figured they might decide to give him the belt to foil our expectations of them not giving them the belt.

Then at the last minute, they would run a staph infection angle and keep him off the PPV completely.

TNA-style booking would swerve things by having HHH beat Daniel Bryan clean, giving us six more months of Randy Orton as champion, and trying to turn Daniel Bryan before Orton loses the belt, and sidelining him in an extended feud with Kane .

You're all fucking up. TNA booking would mean that Bryan has HHH beat, but out comes the NAO to break up the pinfall. DB fights them off, but then there's a ref bump. Steph comes out in a ref's shirt, HHH hits DB with the sledgehammer, but out comes DB's Bella to take out Steph to prevent the screw job. The original ref comes to, but eats a Pedigree from HHH. Why? WHO CARES! THAT'S WHY! HHH confront's the Bella and DB makes the save, which brings out Kane. DB has to then fight off Kane and HHH, but out comes Reigns for the siphoning of heat segment and he helps DB even though those two have had no previous allegiance to each other. This draws out the Wyatts, which draws out the rest of the Shield. Those teams brawl into the crowd and DB hits the knee on HHH, but there's no ref until HBK comes out in the sleeveless ref shirt with the way way WAY too short of shorts. DB just flat out takes him out with a knee before anything can happen. HHH is bloody as shit at this point because he's the boss and is the only one who can blade. DB grabs the sledgehammer to steal HHH's spot, but HHH instead steals DB's spot with his own dumb running knee. Now we need the big surprise finish. Out comes Shane McMahon, who makes the fast count on a DB who has stayed down way too long. HHH's music hits while the fans shit on the entire thing.

And then No Chance in Hell starts playing and we revisit the whole HHH vs Vince thing that was teased months ago that every fan has forgotten about and is now confused about. Vince re-starts the match, takes out Shane, DB hits the knee, and Vince makes a 1-2-3 count and DB wins. The crowd is totally burned out at this point and DB's heat is ruined.

THAT'S what would happen if TNA booked this shit. I wouldn't at all be surprised if that happened anyway, but HA! HA! Fuck you WWE Creative! You can't steal my ideas! Now they have to book this straight.

  5. This pretty much solidified Carol as my favorite character. She's probably the most well-written one of the bunch and thinking back, it feels like she has been written as the most tragic character who has to go through this insane journey. I know for sure that if the spin-off were about Carol and a new group, I probably wouldn't watch OG Walking Dead again.

  6. I'm so happy you've completed the journey. I'm actually really excited because my girlfriend has only watched the pilot and that was a long time ago, so now I get to re-watch the entire series. At the very least, I'll get to watch a number of episodes with her when I'm hanging out with her.

So, it's been awhile after the finale, but I still get goosebumps whenever I THINK about the end of Granite State. Walt going though calling Walt Jr. and having that blow up in his face, then sitting there, watching Elliot and Gretchen on Charlie Rose. And then maybe one of the best moments in TV history happens when the full theme music starts to play and you see a Walt who was completely defeated have his moment where it's like he hears Mickey saying "I din't hear no bell! GET UP YOU SON OF A BITCH...because Mickey loves ya." The county cops roll up and all that's left is the glass and shit. is. on. Goddamn that's awesome.

At some point, I need to go back and make a list of my favorite Breaking Bad moments. I did get a chance to re-watch an episode recently it was the one that starts out with another amazing moment where Walt demands to hear his name and when what's his nuts says "Heisenberg," Walt comes back with "You're goddamn right." I remember when I first saw that thinking that it would be insane if that's what Walt would say, and then he said it, and my mind was blown. However, it got me wondering what movie I saw that from to think of that line and for Walt, who was very impressionable, to repeat the same thing.

Anyway, such an amazing series. After some time has passed and after re-watching the Shield, I now think it's probably my all-time favorite. I don't know if it's the best, but it's definitely my favorite.

  7. Are we talking about this post? Because it's all I could find in this thread with a phrase similar to what's being mentioned. I ask because Craig is clearly not making it about himself, and is just saying that surviving family members probably cling to hope, because it's all they have.

A litmus test to see how attached to reality you are is your disposition regarding whether or not they're still alive.

It isn't entirely out of the question though, that these people are still alive. I think as a surviving family member, that's probably all you could latch onto at the moment.

It's actually pretty obvious. So stop being a carelord about who is carelording.

And more talking about Illuminati please.

Thanks Jae. I knew that the comment was directed at me, but I kind of took a WTF approach to it and just moved on.

Also, FWIW, Carelord is a really, really dumb Internet name to call someone.

  8. Yeah, make no mistake about, the Cubs will probably be dogshit, especially so because it looks like the starting pitching got worse.

So the Cubs sucking + Baez dominating = There being something to watch the Cubs for in or around the June to July range.

Maybe they'll be .500, who knows.

Also, Dan Vogelbach, who was ginormous when he was drafted, like, Prince Fielder big, is down to something like 230 lbs. He looks like he could be an honest to God every day 1B instead of a DH.
