Trailer for the Giver played in front of Divergent last night (duh) and it immediately occurred to me that everyone has read that book. It wasn't even required reading for me in school and I read it after college, but I was just kinda surprised at how every recognized right away that it was the Giver. A ton of buzz after that one aired.
I also like the book a lot, so I'll probably see it opening weekend.

I actually like T3 quite a bit. I'm not sure why it gets slagged on as much as it does, but it's a solid movie. They also had the balls to say that you can't change fate, ending with the bombs falling. Of course, it STILL doesn't make sense for how all of these machines would even survive after multiple EMPs, but whatever.
Salvation I hate. I really hate Salvation. And we had a discussion about Salvation awhile back where I took issue over a fucking nuclear bomb going off at the very start of the movie and no one is affected by the radioactivity afterwards. I believe it was FSW who said it wasn't a nuke. Well hey motherfucker, I went to the script. It's a nuke. OOOOOH WAAAAH.

Went to go see Divergent last night having no knowledge of the books. It was...
surprisingly really good. I think I'm going to head to my library after work and check out the books in the series. I liked it much better than Hunger Games, but I have not seen Catching Fire yet.

That movie was so fucking bright and my complaints remain the same. Just once. JUST ONCE would I like them to explain how humans managed to survive without any food or potable water for all of those years. India and Pakistan would end the world today with an exchange of about 20 nuclear missiles. We would be blanketed in nuclear winter and there would be an extreme famine. The only thing that would be missing is that kind of an exchange wouldn't salt the Earth with radioactivity, although my new understanding is that the half-life of radioactive elements from current weapons is relatively short lived. JT, feel free to fact check me on that. STILL, the entire planet was fucked, so how did humans even survive? And again, how did the machines survive multiple EMPs?
With regards to SCC, it's too bad that show didn't come along a little later. I could see that having a long run on AMC.
