Konnan always speaks on WWE dropping the ball with Mistico. There should have been a few people brought along with him to WWE that were able to work his style. Instead of having him in the ring with people that have NO CLUE how to work the lucha style.

Seems like everyone's forgotten about Hunico.  Granted, that's just one guy.

Yeah, what with Misterio, Del Rio, Punk, Danielson, Claudio, the aforementioned Hunico, and innumerable folks far better and just on the verge of call-ups ... y'know, nowhere to be found.

I feel like there will be whole shoot videos of people who witnessed the whole mess first hand, telling the horrible tale from their perspective like a Wrestling Rashomon. And the host of those shoot videos will ask every guest how big Mistico's dong is.

I clicked "like," in the absence of a "proposed marriage to this exchange regardless of my local community's acceptance of the love I have for it" option.

  3. A nice weekend's Botchamania ep could be made comparing and contrasting Ultimo and Mistico's runs.  I'd like that very much, actually.

As far as non-injurious botches, does Shit Arsa have anything as relatively humiliating as Ultimo's slip on his own cape at 'Mania?  Having an arena laugh at your clumsy ass on THE GRANDEST STAGE OF THEM ALL has to be hard to top.

Whenever Sin Cara's in the ring, I expect one of his botches at this point to be met with a very vocal, "FOR GOD'S SAKE!" from the audience.

Edit, to mark that I've now referred to Sin Cara under three different gimmicks/names (yep, I'm counting Shit Arsa), in one post.  Surely a record ...

  4. What's up with Samoa Joe? Why is he still in TNA?

Here are the the last things I remember about the guy:

    - his match vs Kobashi, which was pretty great and the real catalyst for me getting into 90's AJPW

    - going to TNA, meh.

    - Kurt Angle going to TNA and people creaming themselves because Angle vs Joe, meh.

    - A rumour about him being up for the Umaga spot but turning it down and Eddie Fatu picking up the ball and scoring the touchdown

    -.........

    - Now

With a ton of indie dudes being in the E some way or another, I would have guessed Joe would be there being Joe Sam, the Samoan Guy.

    Um, "profit?"

Edit, to add hooptedoodle: I'm going to try to "multiquote" more often, y'all.  Shitty week.

  5. On the whole "test of strength handshake" issue a bit earlier - an opinion I kept trying to post but my phone is a piece of shit - I'm usually about as impressed when some dude tries to crush my hand in a handshake as I am some fucking fucker on a message board gloating about his post count. I actually have called a few gents - yes, even in professional settings, including, famously for me, a supervisor's supervisor - jackasses for that kind of impotence highlighting behavior.(Wow, that last bit sounded like word filtering, huh.)

In that case you should look around to the other people in the room to see their opinion and then kick him in the gut. Fans love when babyfaces do that to heels.
...There's part of me that thinks you're making fun. But then, you have "liked" posts that I have made about the wrestlings. So I'm conflicted ... perhaps I will be a better judge upon the morrow.
  6. I have the original blu-ray with Terror in the Aisle. VQ is better than my universal DVD was, but nothing notable.Sadly, I have not been able to justify to myself buying a different, one year later, blu-ray of the same film in order to compare.

I'm convinced. Just like that. Thanks, man.
  7. Just got a Highspots emailer, alerting me that $5 Wrestling's new event is ready for order, and so help me, fuck you, to whoever started using numbers for letters (I blame "Thir13en Ghosts"), because "5EVER" now either looks like "sever" or "fever."  Definitely not "five-ever," which is actually an entirely different reason altogether that I fear for the future of my daughter's education.

That would be Darren Corbin, he could manipulate time, some people were immune to it though...

And then the 1-2-3 Kid stole it from him. So I think it's a Minnesota virus now.

I have to admit, that kinda brought back the dislike of Waltman again, after giving him a pass from 2011.  Torn anus or not, you just don't steal a man's bread-and-butter gimmick.

  10. I don't know what to do with this, so I'm putting it here: Somebody guide me toward which Halloween II* Blu version is probably the better to get. I guess I must be thinking VQ, because "Terror in the Aisles" is a huge sell point for me, but not if the image is no greater than this shit DVD Goodtimes release I own.

*If you don't know that I mean the original one, please PM me your street address.

  11. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Well, no, wait a minute now.  Maybe now that we've gotten to the feud with "Be a Star" Ryback, we can FINALLY get the conclusion of what Punk was going into in that first "shoot" promo in '11, when he mentioned the anti-bullying campaign but the mic was cut off.  Now we FINALLY can know the truth!!

  12. Soup stock.mmmmm...taste the marrow.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ... oh holy, wow, that was some good shit there!......Okay, what I originally came her to post: Fell into a nap a few hours after work today, while I was watching a Kevin Steen comp, had the legit I-shit-you-not experience of waking up and thinking I was watching a Seth Rogen film.Which, now reading that, makes me ponder on the lesser of two evils: "Knocked Up" featuring romantic tension between Heigl and Steen, or Rogen embroiled in a blood feud w/ El Generico?(I'm gonna deserve this ban I got coming, I fear.)
  13. Cena should come back and save the day, then Bryan should stab him in the back, say "I never liked you" and start his heel run.

Actually, betcha Cena's tied up with Undertaker at Wrestlemania, where Bryan will get his big win over the corporation. Their paths will cross later. Then my scenario.

I seem to recall something like this exchange mentioned being the basis for a Big Show sorta-turn; they were having him work face, but then he had this weird promo where he just flatly stated that he didn't really care for The Rock as a person, but then hey, he's still Show, he's still an alright guy.  Yeah ... no, fans still booed him out his shoes, based on the simple fact he stated that he didn't like the Rock.

I was up until 3am watching the first six episodes of Breaking Bad last night. I have come out of my sequestered hiding long enough to pass along the note that BIG DAVE Meltzer keeps mentioning the fact that if John Cena wasn't injured, everything that is happening to Daniel Bryan would happen with John Cena in his place.

Better or worse than what has played out the last month?

    Worse than Walt killing Jesse.

Everybody can laugh now, but this board has A LOT of threads and a lot of people in those threads talking about TV shows they're starting to get into; book series they're starting to read, and movies they're interested in seeing.

    Notes are being taken.

    Lives will be ruined.

See you all in a couple of weeks.

Someone mentions Breaking Bad plot shit in this thread one more time and I'm going to do something drastic.

I would like to note that I consider myself exempt from these discussions of which you two speak, because my reflections on them are meant to be done in an ironic manner.  I'm like a postmodern chair shot.

  15. Why can't I like my own posts. So not fair.

Because the board has a problem with us establishing health self-esteem; it doesn't want us to "like" ourselves.

Some of you - *ahem* - would have unnecessarily inflated "board statuses."  You know I'm right.

One other thought occurred to me, as an extension of the HOSS/ possibility of Lesnar-Taker at Mania:  I may be alone here, but I have thought, since his return, that Lesnar wouldn't be such a horrendous promo, if they were to allow him to swear.  Taker comes out for the inevitable "who you got for 30;" he does the whole, "No one's left."  BWOWOWOWOWOW ... dunh dunh, dunh, dunh dunh DUNH ... Lesnar out, circles Taker two or three times, then just flatly says, "Are you fucking blind?"  Far better than any "do you feel that feeling you're feeling, 'cause I feel it too," mushmouth "heeba deeba mooba boobins" bullshit he was going for earlier this year.

Can someone tell me what the deal with Freight Train and 5 Dollar wrestling is? I checked Google and could not get a clear answer.

Im on the fence as to how "in on it" Freight Train is.  Sometimes I watch it and feel sorry for him and think Jake and Colt are dicks for poking fun at him.

Sometimes I watch it and think, Im being worked here, he's totally in on the joke. Then I cant decide if he's either the greatest actor or the worst wrestler.

Cant believe Vader Junior has been released.  Wonder if Big Poppa Vader will get a Tweet to attend Raw next week!  They also released that weird looking Irish guy after like 1 month!

I've worked with Freight Train before, and I always got the impression that he knew what was going on.  He's just so happy to be there, it doesn't really matter to him.  He loves wrestling, he's having a blast, and I never once got the feeling he thought he was being taken advantage of.  Jake loves the guy, FWIW.  He's with him at all times, and makes sure he's taken care of in the ring.

Then, there's that part where, if he ended up on Raw tomorrow, we'd all be thinking, "You sold out!  You sold out!"

*J/k; I've always hated that retarded ass chant.  "You can take better care of your family!  For that you fucking suck!"

Lil Vader needs to go get some experience in Japan. Look what it's done for Harry Smith.

He wrestled a some matches with his old man there in Zero-1 and the Vader Time shows.

I wasn't expecting much when I saw his FCW look:

He looks like a hitchhiker that's about to rape you.

He looks like a Miz cosplayer.

    Judas wept, doesn't he though?!??!
