I know shitting on WWE creative is pretty fun, and often the right attitude to take. But going back a month and a half ago, before Cody was fired, was anyone thinking "You know, this whole HHH/Bryan thing would be a great gateway to put a title back on Golddust."
No? No. I wasn't thinking that. I wouldn't have thought of that in a million years. It just wouldn't have occurred to me.
Even when Cody Rhodes is all of a sudden thrown in a "you're fired" match with Orton, I'm not watching thinking "Ah...endgame for this is Rhodes brothers tag team title reign!"
Nope.
But clearly they were. This fantastic moment was planned out at least 6-8 weeks ago and unfolded perfectly without any swerves or giving up on the angle, or hotshotting it too quickly or putting it off too long.
I got to give credit...probably two months ago, the WWE writers came up with an absurd and beautiful idea that no one could have predicted would go this well...and they executed it pretty well flawlessly.
Your positive attitude has absolutely no place here ... fucking NONE.

I'm sure this has been mentioned before but Hulk Hogan is an idiot. I've been watching 1995 Nitro shows and then reading the WON stuff on them afterwards. In the September 25 issue, it's stated that Steve Austin was fired and Hogan and his crew felt he had no charisma. On what planet does Steve Austin not have charisma in 1995? Hell, in 94, he came across as amazing with a ton of potential, probably in 93 too but I haven't seen enough of his stuff from then. My rant is over

I used Chris Benoit this week, in my psych lecture on proactive vs retroactive memory interference. It has been kinda weird how so few of them knew he was wrestler ... which proved the point I made about retroactive interference.

Tears for Fears "Break it Down Again" came on the CD player on the way home from teaching Intro Psych tonight; gonna now go satisfy this sudden urge to watch KOT 2011, remember the last year I gave a shit about wrestling.

I've seen it somewhere that the Blu exclusives that are supposed to be on that Mid-South set are in fact NOT on it. Dunno if they've fixed that or not .... just an fyi.Someone help me out here. I want to get a new WWE Blu-Ray set with their sale going on but I can't decide on a second set. I'm getting the Mid-South set for sure but I can't decide on the Goldberg set or the Best of Nitro Vol. 2 set for my freebie. Which one do you guys think would be more fun? I'm guessing the matches on the Nitro set are better but workrate isn't something I want to worry about. I just want some fun stuff to watch.

Barrett and Sheamus as rowdy drunks watching footy and winning head butting competitions in exchange for bar tabs is a tremendous idea. Replace Sheamus with another Brit and give them Vindaloo as a theme song.

What's everyone's best Big Show match? Don't think there's many better than the Lesnar match at the Rumble. Guy bumps huge for Brock and they get a ton of shit in in such a short time.
The one where he did that missle dropkick ... he really showed his incredible athletic range.

Y'know what wouldst have been better? If Joe's brother Jack told Bryan to fuck off ... haw ...Edit: "wouldst?" ... damn phone, what a weird auto-correct ...I would've paid all the money in my checking account to ROH if Joe Koff had told Bryan Alvarez to shut the fuck up. You could tell that he was getting increasingly unnerved by Bryan incessantly bringing up their problems with the streams. Also, Bryan asking if they could somehow increase their budget. Then the last ten minutes or so, Koff basically turned it into an awkward shillfest for ROH and kissing Triple H's ass. That interview was just a debacle on all fronts.
