Thanks for the video, TheVileOne. Again, I really like the different look, I feel Batman: Arkham Origins has to Arkham Asylum/Arkham City. Great seeing the Batcave.
Different look? You mean the batsuit right? Because everything else looks more or less copy/pasted from the previous games. The hobo's looked pretty much like the political prisoners from AC, including the cowering animation. And that throat grab interrogation move could've been done differently in my opinion.Looks like the fighting system is pretty much one on one from AC as well. Not that it's a bad thing, but they could've mixed it up a little bit with the animations. Which were impressive the first time around, seeing it again in a "slightly" different setting just seems lazy to me.And another thing that annoys me is the ground takedown "crotch/ass punch". Funny in Arkham Asylum. Slightly annoying in Arkham City. Lazy in Origins.

Just noticed something in the mission Three's Company.
The CIA woman beating the shit out of the captive is also that same woman who betrays Nico in GTA IV... I love continuity like that.
Haven't tried online mode yet, might do it over the weekend.

From what very little I've seen of the game so far, the Franklin/Lamar stuff is an Ice Cube comedy just waiting to happen.
Seriously. One of my few complaints is that there is not nearly enough Lamar.
You need to hang out with the guy more often to get more funny shit. He definitely is a good foil to Franklin's character who seems to get lost a little bit in the Trevor/Michael relationship. And it seems like the internet is really divided on him, it's like 50/50 on people who love and hate him.

Just finished the game. Campaign was by far one of the best. Couple of things felt a bit anti climatic, but still this is a truly amazing game. One of the best I have ever played. Now for the final mission:
If you didn't choose option C you're a bitch nigga

So glad our cool, sexy, badass, ass-kicker is finally back!

The thing about Sleeping Dogs that I'm specifically drawing from is how the story starts, where there's this growing tension until the moment that everything escalates into guns, after which everything goes absolutely fucking crazy. Contrast that with GTA, which is "Dramatic intro! Flash forward! Normal life... grind a little bit... little bit more... DOZENS DEAD. Okay now go play with this dog." For $226million in production, I don't feel it's weird to be expecting more than that.
It's called pacing (and mostly tutorial).

Yesterday I switched back to Trevor only to find him on top of a mountain wearing a flower dress. I then continued to play as him whilst wearing that dress and punched one of the lovefist members in the mouth. Some Buffalo Bill levels of creepiness.
I'll join the DVDVR crew, I'm on a PS3 by the way. I believe I already have some of you (Neil Koch, few others) on my friends list.

Love discovering new music. Already got Spotify in full effect thanks to WorldWide, FlyLo and Mirror Park radio stations.
Anyone heard the whole Trevor is a hipster speech that Michael gives? Hilarious! Especially since my Trevor is rocking a huge beard with the flannel shirt and tattoos.

You guys finally realize what I have said about the Saints Row series for years.
Franklin: San Andreas fans.Michael: GTA IV fans.Trevor: SR fans. Oh and by the way:
GTA 5 does have aliens.... and monkeys

I like the shooting from what I've played so far. It's obviously cribbed from Max Payne 3, but that is to be expected. The cover and targeting is a lot better than in IV. I haven't tried to do drive-bys yet though. Overall I think the driving is better also - except for the camera lock-on when you are chasing someone, which is too confusing for me - it's just that race that sucks, probably because the car they point you to grab has crap handling and fishtails and/or spins out if a breeze goes by. I'm going to try and jack one of the good sports cars from the car lot and then retry the race tonight.
I personally love the fact we don't have that huge target lock-on thing or glowing pick-ups like guns or armour. The way they did it now is a lot more immersive. And I keep forgetting this isn't SR or GTA IV, you can actually die pretty easily in gun fights. And as far as that Street Race with the asian dude. Just use Franklin's Buffalo and use his special ability in corners to cut people off. Beat the race on my second try.

Did the first heist and shit got pretty intense pretty damn fast. What else did I do?- played fetch with Chop
- made it rain.
- tripped on weed

- marked the fuck out with dat Nico Bellic reference
- shot and killed Packie randomly on the street

I don't know whether to buy the game now as the last Grand Theft Auto game I liked was Vice City, wait as I need to save for Christmas or ask for it at Christmas as I nearly always get a game or two at that time of year. Be interested to read the reaction here to Grand Theft Auto V so far. What's the difficulty like?
A bit of a learning curve if Vice City is the last GTA you played, but the game eases you into it. And I'll be damned if this isn't one of the best games I have ever played.

This is more of a request: there's this amazing gif floating around the internet with Vince McMahon reacting to a body builder (MASTADON DAMMIT!!!). It's obviously edited, but it uses WWE footage and WBF. The last time I saw it I lost my shit laughing so hard. Tried googling it, but to no avail.

I fall in the 'students who care about school' and 'employed gamer' section and those were my litteral reactions. Uni during the day and working in the evening and I'm fully booked this weekend. Oh man, this game will either make me fail the this semester or get me fired.

Just saw some gameplay streams from people who already have the game. Nothing really spoiler worthy happened in the streams, just guys fucking around in the city, but the animations look amazing. Saw Franklin running around and punching and stomping random people and it looked fantastic. It had the same vibe when I first played GTA IV, it looks like you are on holiday in a different city. Also, not story related, but will spoiler it anyway:
Cars actually explode on impact if you take a long fall with it. It's not like in GTA IV or San Andreas where you walk out unscathed.

DVDVR has a surprisingly fun gaming forum. Some casuals, some hardcore gamers, just some decent discussion, news and "reviews".Shit, I visit this board and the movie board more often than the wrestling boards.

I barely used Pay n' Sprays on IV, on III and friends they're we're pretty essential though.
Same here. The escape system of IV was pretty good, but sometimes a tad bit too easy. Speaking of which, did that system get an overhaul for V?

I want to add HHH vs Benoit from sometime early 2000/around No Way Out (It's an episode of Smackdown where every member of the Radicalz get a match for a contract).
Solid TV match with Haitch making Benoit look like gold. Sure he beat him, but dammit for a second it looked like Benoit could beat him.

And finally, something that no one has really talked about yet, it's becoming more and more obvious that Seth Rollins is the future star out of the Shield. The fact that a Daniel Bryan main event match has only gotten 3 or 4 mentions in 15 pages isn't a good sign for Ambrose. He's kind of in a shitty spot where his biggest strengths are heel promos, heel mannerisms, and selling, while his biggest weakness is being interesting on offense. Having watched some of his FCW work, I know he can do better, but he's really underachieving these days. A 10+ minute match against Daniel Bryan is the time to step up, and he just looked really flat out there, especially compared to the last few times Rollins got a similar opportunity.
Couldn't disagree more. Seth and Bryan just play off against each other really really well. What are you expecting from Ambrose? Top rope shit? He has a decent heel moveset that works with his gimmick. And what makes Seth's offense so great? The dude can bump, but he is awful on the mic.Anyway, on a related note and it's been said a hundred times before: it's fucking insane that "our" guys like Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose are main-eventing episodes of Raw.PS: The break out star will be Roman Reigns by the way. That glorious hair.

I just finished Saints Row the Third. Only game left on my backlog. The beginning is kinda cool then it's a whole lot of nothing and then the final part starts and it's pretty cool. But the Saints Row love on this board is something I'll never quite understand.

I pre-orderded this and GTA 5 over the weekend. We can basically assume that GTA 5 is going to be GOTY, but I am way more excited for this game. More of the same, but I can't wait.

Formerly known as Dirty Janchez (with an Eddie Guerrero avatar). Never really understood why I choose that name years ago. Anyway, I'm back!
