at the risk of guessing, the Mulkey thing and her response has to be something where she's gonna be accused of using a bunch of racial slurs or something, isn't it?
There's apparently a bunch from former assistants. I imagine there will be stuff trashing her for how she handled the Britney Griner legal stuff along a myriad of stories detailing her as an arrogant POS.
I thought her quotes from the press conference were hilarious. She simultaneously complained about not having time to respond while also saying she'd been refusing to talk to the journalist for two years.
She's a piece of garbage so I'm eagerly awaiting the article.

Gonzaga has led Kansas by as much as 27 in the second half.
Kansas led at halftime.

funny, even as cynical as I am I never thought Eric Gregg was doing anything more than punishing the Braves for some perceived disrespect of his authority.
standard bad umpire shit.
or in this context, the perfect alibi.
Sure, that's a good explanation. But if you found out he was paid off, would you be all THAT surprised given how one-sided and blatant his favoritism was?

I absolutely love the first movie but I hate this news.

didn't know that they could have a college basketball game with both teams over 100 points these days
How I long for the days of Loyola Marymount vs Michigan.

No sport would survive a crooked ref scandal.I guarantee you he was not alone. But you already think that way, too.
And it wouldn't shock me if Eric Gregg was on the take during the Livan game.

I continue to maintain making a team that earned an autobid play in the First Four shouldn't be allowed. It should be the last 8 bubble teams.

Depends on how much of that 40% was from three
They played UConn twice and lost both times. The game in question, UConn shot 40% but was 4-23 from 3 and 18-32 from 2.

Me, seeing several (NL) teams repped by pitchers on that list, and shedding a wistful tear for what once was
Detroit, too. Earl Wilson was a power hitter who hit 7 homers in a season twice. His 7 home runs in 1968 were 9th on the team for the Tigers.

"We played at Connecticut, and they shoot 40% from the field. We're a good defense. They won the game. They should be credited for winning the game."
That's an interesting take, Coach - the other guys shot poorly and STILL beat you. You must be awesome!

Cam and Andrew Luck are pretty much the only two who were good immediately and "successful" (insert your own definition for that word here)
Luck for sure - pretty good numbers and 11-5. Cam was good and improved the team a lot.
I'll agree with those two.

Mixed reaction for me. It was absolutely the right move to fire him, between the off court issues and the absolute cratering of the team this year, and hell even his own health.
But it sucks seeing a childhood hero flop so bad when I had such high expectations a few years ago.
So many issues that weren't game results. From constantly wanting to fight people to ACTUALLY FIGHTING people... good grief. He was given so many chances and still managed to blow through them all. Screw him.

Man, I forgot just how bad the shooting in that title game was. UConn only shot 34.5% from the floor and that was still 14.7% better than Butler.
Though Butler's 27.3% from three was sizzling compared to the Huskies 9.1%.
I think I had legit blocked that game from my memory in remembering Walker rampaging through the entire tournament.
Still the greatest run ever for a mid-major - back-to-back title games and a banked-out 3 away from beating Duke to win it all. Or just shooting... terribly instead historically awful...from beating UConn and winning it all.

Successful immediately, or just had a successful career?
Immediately, obviously. Plenty of #1 overalls have been successful - Peyton, Stafford, Aikman Palmer, etc. - but all of them sucked out of the gate. I'm just wondering if anybody was successful immediately.
-
Has there ever been a #1 overall QB that started right away AND was successful? I can't think of one off the top of my head.

i don’t think Russ Wilson is washed up. Maybe he is, but I’m willing to see what he can still do. Also hoping the Steelers can get Fields relatively cheaply too. Market for him doesn’t seem to be what Bears hoped.
He's not washed up, he's just not good. He's never been as good as the perception of him but he's declined a lot. He runs off it off gas mid-season and pads his numbers against bad teams while not doing much against his ones. He did manage a combined 5 TDs against KC & Buffalo last year in consecutive weeks - while averaging 153 yards and 24 points. He had 2 games all season where he threw for 200 yards and 2 TDs and threw under 200 yards 8 times.

There is something perfect about the way Stockton and Malone run the pick and roll for each other for the title of most unlikeable NBA Hall of Famer.
It's like Stockton got CTE after he retired. I don't remember him being a whacko while he was playing. Fewer opportunities to express it, sure, but he's gone completely off the rails the last 5 years. I worked with his sister for a decade and she's awesome. Super nice and kind.
Karl, on the other hand, has been known as a POS since Day 1.
Even a dude like Ja who seems like he might shoot somebody or have somebody shot on his behalf somehow seems more likable than these two clowns.

Yeah, I don't like this rule change. And, like you said, I'm sure it'll be enforced in an "interesting" way.
