  1. Boy, that Nyla Rose/Leva Bates match was rough, from Dark.  AEW's women's division is totally awful, right now.  The only star they have is Riho, and everyone else is just there.  Nyla has a ton of presence, and in time, could be a big star.  Britt Baker is pretty disappointing, and ladies like Allie and Brandi are no good.  How is it that Impact has a much stronger women's division than this place?

  2. I really enjoyed the show.  The best match had to be Marafuji/Elgin but the Ladder match and main were pretty good.  I thought for sure Tessa was winning it especially with how all the heat was put on her and Cyrus putting her over but I guess not yet.  I hope they eventually get around to putting one of the belts on her since it'd be pretty original and fresh for a major company to do.  RVD looked to be in good shape but his HBK emotionless heel turn was puzzling.  The Shamrock match was not amazing but still pretty nostalgic which is basically what it should have been.  I'm looking forward to the AXS era and I just wish this is the kind of product we were getting back in like 2006 from this company.

  3. I'm giving this card a try since I'm in the mood for some regular wrestling (outside the WWE Universe of robot wrestlers and announcers).  This'll be my first Impact show since the old weekly PPVs and I think it'll be fun.  I really want to see Shamrock, and hopefully Tessa win the strap.  Plus, I really liked the angle they did with Cage and Callihan on their go-home show.

  4. Pretty solid stuff tonight and they finally decided to not overbook the main event finish.  The women's match started pretty rough and I really don't buy Baker as a babyface at all.  I loved how they managed to protect Pac and still have him eat the cover.  The main finish was a little sleazy but I think going into AEW, I pictured them just having all clean finishes, etc. and that just isn't very realistic.  Darby looked like a million bucks, even though he lost, which is what the WWE should've been doing in those AJ/Cedric matches.  Oh yea, and I forgot that awesome Cody vignette.  I can't wait to see it live next week too, should be fun.

  5. When it comes to Mike Kinnellis, if the guy is going to be miserable for the next five years, why not just let the guy go?  It's not like the guy has so much untapped potential that a company like AEW would benefit off of WWE's loss.  This guy isn't going to be a main guy in too many major places around the world.  To me, it seems like the guy just wants to work more, so I say let him do it.  Like others have said, if they want they can keep Maria around because it's clear she has always been the focus since they returned.  Let him go and have fun working for ROH or Impact or MLW.

  6. I don't really think these numbers are surprising since it was a curiosity show with a lot of buzz.  To parrot Dave a little, six months from now or a year from now, will it be the same?  I imagine it's going to drop off a little but not to the point of that 500K number TNT was happy with.  They seem to be good for a bit, as long as the quality doesn't go off a cliff anytime soon.  Maybe NXT can hire Russo or something to complete the trifecta of 90's bookers.  Vince will definitely throw more stuff on NXT though.

I thought Dynamite was a fun show which didn't disappoint but I was expecting some sort of wild Young Bucks/Lucha Bros. style match.  This thing has got me caring for a product again and I like that, and I'm in going forward.

  7. I promise I won't hype every single new post I make but I'm pretty excited about my new project.  I'm starting to look at who had the strongest and weakest WWE championship reigns as heels.  I really am intrigued by the dichotomy between the McMahon's booking of babyface champs versus heel champs.  I'm going to use results to look at booking of champions and see how far I can get.  I'll be looking for clean wins and losses, and who those were against.  I also have a post on AWA enhancement star George Gadaski at my page.

  8. I just got done watching most of the show, and while it might have been the company's worst effort so far, it was still highly entertaining.  My favorite two matches were Omega/CIMA and the main event.  It was good to see the Bucks forced to slow down with guys like the Rhodes.

Brandi/Allie was probably the worst match on the main card and it was about what I was expecting from the two.  I'm assuming this will build up to Kong/Allie v. Kong/Brandi at All Out.  The opening women's match was a little better but not as good as the matches from the last two shows.  They should have gotten Baker out of there right away and should have never let her get back in the ring.

Lucha Bros/SCU was fun and Pentagon has so much presence and charisma.  I enjoyed that match more than their matches with Bucks since it wasn't a total spot fest.  The three-way tag was decent and they need to push the hell out of Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus, going by their crowd reactions.

Admittedly, I skipped Sabian/Page and the 6-man tag, along with the other Buy-In match.  I enjoyed the angles with Jericho and I also thought they need to learn how to properly time these shows.  The arena looked nice but I hope they don't over-rely on the place in the future.  Commentary was good but Marvez definitely doesn't need to be there.  I'm not as hard on him as others and I do think he is the best third man in the business, if that means anything.  At least, they let him talk a little and he did have a couple interesting things to add throughout the night.

  9. I couldn't catch the show last night but watched it today and I was pretty impressed.  It wasn't as good as DON but I wasn't expecting it to be.

The 3-way tag on the pre-show was decent but the Nakazawa/gamer dude match was annoying, and I missed the women's match.

Daniels/CIMA was pretty decent and so was the 3-way women's match.  It gave me a chance to get familiar with some of the Japanese ladies, as admittedly it was hard to remember them all at DON.  Nyla really has a lot of presence and the 2-on-1 story through some of the match was nice.

The highlight, for me, was the Cody/Darby match, and from a storyline standpoint, this match was awesome.  The veteran Cody underestimating Allin, and not paying attention to the time limit was great.  Not to mention, Darby pinballing all the time with several unique sells and bumps.  I had no problem with the chairshot, as long as it was gimmicked but I did think it took away from the finish of the match.  They didn't put over Darby enough after the match was over.  I would have liked to have seen maybe like a handshake between the two or even just a couple extra moments of putting over the story and Allin a little.  However, they did put over the chairshot pretty well, which was good, and I'm guessing will lead to Spears/Cody at All Out.

The 6-man was pretty crazy and fun, and everyone looked great.  The Street Fighter stuff was pretty good.  The 4-way was good, and Page and MJF are obviously the future of the company.  MJF is basically the 2019 Bubba-Ray Dudley with his promos, which is cool with me.

Moxley/Janela was fun and Moxley really gave Janela a lot during the match.  Janela took most of the crazy stuff but Moxley still did some stuff that, being a former WWE star, he probably didn't have to take.  The brawl at the end was great and gave Omega his heat back.

Overall, so far, so good with this company but I'm sure we'll start to see a lot more bad stuff once they have to book 52+ shows a year, episodicly no less.

  10. I'm just going to put this here because I feel like it and it amuses me but I think one of the women in one of the major US companies should be obsessed with Garfield.  Maybe someone like Dana Brooke could go to catering and always demand lasagna, and she could also sleep in a box with a blanket and a teddy bear.  She would then need to be woken up for her match.  Her promos would also be just her thinking sarcastic things about her opponents, and she'd never actually speak with her mouth.  Also, she'd refuse to work on RAW because she hates Mondays.  That is all.
