  1. I want a Legends House with:

    1. Scott Steiner

    2. Bubba Ray Dudley

    3. New Jack

    4. Jim Cornette

    5. Steve Austin

    6. CM Punk

    7. JBL

    8. Jim Ross

    That cast would produce fireworks.

Why can't Vince Russo be thrown in?

  2.

I've been on an Earthquake/John Tenta spree lately after seeing him squash some geek on one of the 94 RAWs.  There was a solid Jake/Quake match on one of the MSG shows, shortly after Quake literally squashed Damien.  I like the fact that Quake seemingly wasn't afraid of snakes, at least compared to other big men like Andre.  I searched Avalanche and only got a Macho/Avalanche match listed from 1969, which has Flair in drag.  Anyone want to fill me in on what show this is actually from?  Also, anyone got any recommendations for Quake matches?  I always liked him as a kid, especially when he was a face.  He seemed so likable.

Assuming you've seen it, but Hogan/Quake from SummerSlam 90 is very good.

I was going to watch that next, when I get some time.  I watch a good MSG tag with the Natural Disasters v. LOD.  Quake and Typhoon stood up heavy to the Warriors and they told a good story of two bohemoth tag teams (pronounced bo, as in bow, that's the VKM way to say it) going at it.

  4. I watched part of the April 1996 RAW with the Warrior return interview.  Yoko/Vader was fun since Yoko busted out a Samoan Drop on Vader.  Yoko was blown up quick though, which isn't surprising.  Vader went after the leg and they needed a forklift to cart him out, which was quite a sight.  Then, the Warrior came out and knocked the shit out of Goldust.  Warrior swore twice which was different for the time.  I'm left wondering if the Goldust gimmick would work as well today since homosexuality was more taboo in 1996 than it is now.

I'm assuming utilization is the % of seats filled, so is it surprising that a non-TV Raw live event featuring John Cena in February last year had a higher utilization than a Smackdown TV event in October without Cena?

Don't forget to read the checklists at the end of the script. "Feud" is a banned buzz word?

    "Belt" is also out?

    Fuck me...

Dude, that's old news.  Everyone knows the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Title is not meant to hold up one's pantaloons.

  6. Watched the latest episode of RAW 1993, or parts of it.  I wanted to see Backlund fight Horowitz (not Adam, but Barry), and I got Randy Savage going nuts on Crush.  This felt like a giant fight and this is the kind of thing I wish Bryan had done to HHH back in August after SS.  It's simple logic that after having been destroyed by Crush that Savage would want to kick his ass, and he did.  He didn't come out smiling or spray painting Crush's neon car.  No, he just attacked him like a man.  He even threw Vince out of the way.  Savage was intense and Crush looked like a guy doing an act though.  Also, the Backlund match was completely ignored after a commercial break.  The fans got to choose who Pierre/CPO would fight, and I vote Lex Luger, for some reason.  Although, I wouldn't mind seeing him in a match with the Kid.  We'll see in a day or two.

  7. Overall, this was a fantastic Mania, besides a couple filler matches.  Bryan/HHH was the match of the night, easily, and I knew that right away.  Brock/Taker was worse than I expected but the finale was amazing.  I imagine it was similar to Koloff beating Bruno back in the day.  I never expected him to win and I have to think Taker is going to retire now, or at least, he'll never work another Mania again.  Bray/Cena told a good story but was sluggish.  I missed the Divas shit and the 6-man Shield match, for bathroom breaks.  The Warrior coming out sans face paint was a let down.  Also, Cesaro winning the battle royal was awesome, especially with the Mania 3 slam and the really giant swing.  Here's to hoping he'll finally get a big push this year.

I couldn't get into the main event as much as I would have liked due to technical problems.  The vast majority of the PPV saw no problems but that match was skipping backwards and forwards like crazy, which disconnected me from the match.  Thankfully, the last few minutes worked fine, and Bryan had his great moment.  He seemed to actually get the biggest reaction of the night, even bigger than Cena.  It was a nice sight to see that sea of humanity doing the Yes points/chants.  I was surprised he pinned Batista actually.  I thought he'd pin Orton to set-up a Batista re-match at the next show.  I guess that doesn't mean the re-match won't happen.

The last two Mania's, for me, were one or two match shows but this was better, and some of the stuff was unexpected.  My only complaints were the technical shit but it was far less than I expected.

  8. I'm not too sure on how I feel about tomorrow's live stream.  Lately, I've had problems with VOD stuff a little and I have to imagine anywhere from 100,000 to 500,000 people will be logged in tomorrow night.  This could end up a big disaster.  MLB.tv is a good company but I highly doubt they have that many people watching a live game at once.  They probably have their most users during the free game of the day but I can't imagine it's going to be as many as Mania will have.

  9. Get Kevin Periera!*

    *Never gonna fucking happen

    Good lord no.

I'm hoping for Conan.  His contract is up in 2015, as well, and he seems like a natural successor.  He'd be good competition for Fallon going after the young demographic.  He might get lower ratings than anyone but that don't mean squat.
