  1. I got past the first round of Russo Nitros and survived.  I'm up to maybe 3 shows after Souled Out and the shows seem significantly better.  That's not to say that they are good or anything but they are less chaotic and less overbooked, and you actually get some matches and clean finishes sometimes.  I guess I'd probably dislike them more if I wasn't just watching months of Russo crap.  It's pallet cleansing, to be honest.

One thing I am amazed at is Russo seemingly didn't start the Booker T/Stevie Ray/Ahmed program fighting over the letter T.  Ahmed sticks out like the sore thumb but so far, I'm entertained by the program, I have to admit.  You got Stevie Ray calling people cracker jack fruit booties, Ahmed doing a wind-up/jack-in-the-box middle finger to the crowd, and Clarence Mason, what's not to enjoy a little bit.

Jarrett's schtick got old back in November, btw.  He's like a polished Paul Roma.

We need a clip of Sid from Oct 5, 1999 Nitro freaking out because Goldberg has put his car in a crusher machine and then returned it to Sid's parking space.

Sid was maybe the worst actor to ever get multiple chances at top of the card.

I actually don't remember that.  I must've fast-forwarded too much.  During that period, they really had a ton of small segments that when you fast-forward, you might end up missing stuff.

  3. I'm still making my way through every Nitro, and I'm up to Starrcade 99.  This probably isn't news to anyone but it's really getting bad.  I'm starting to count how many matches actually end without any type of BS interference or ref bumps.  To say these shows are overbooked is insane.  I do like how they seem to be finally booking Bret Hart as a strong babyface.  Too bad it doesn't last.  I thought the Outsiders and Bret had a decent opening segment the night after Bret won the belt but then out of nowhere Jarrett pops up, levels Bret with a guitar, and steals the belt.  This led to a pretty decent match between the two until Dustin Rhodes decided to help Bret win, which is quite baffling.  Everybody hates everybody, and everybody has serious mental problems in Russo's world.  Friendships don't last very long at all.

I just want to get through most of 2000 as fast as possible, and see if Post-Russo gets all that much better.

  4. I tried giving 06 ECW some chances but I'm running thin and I'm only at the show after the Hammerstein show with Show/Batista.  Most of the stuff is just boring.  The Rey/RVD match from the Head-to-Head was pretty good and I think there was RVD/Angle.  The novelty of Flair/Show was decent and it was a solid match.  This was probably covered here even in 06 but that Show/Batista match was one of the worst booked matches I've seen in a while and I'm currently also going through 99 Nitro.  At least, they kinda sent people home happy in the end.  Didn't they blame the crowd for how bad everything was and then never run Hammerstein again?

  5. This is a bit out of left field but does anyone have a clue how the nWo Wolfpac merchandise sales were after they turned them and merged the two factions?  When I had my WON sub, I remember reading that the top merch sellers were the Wolfpac.  I'm going through old Nitros around this time and I'm a little baffled why they turned them heel and how it affected their merch sales when they were heels.  I had to cancel my WON sub recently so I can't check old issues myself for anything right now.
