  1. The NBA didn't do anything earlier because the players didn't demand it.

This.  Steve Novak was talking on the radio today and said when he was with the Clippers everyone knew what Sterling was like anyone that says otherwise is bullshitting.  Now is it the players that demanded it or did the media pressure make these guys demand so they didnt look like they were only there for the money.  You just have to raise your eyebrow when you realize that Donald Stern basically handed Chris Paul to the Clippers.  It was a fair deal but still he did the Clips a solid on that one.

  2.

So according to ESPN's legal expert Silver and the other owners can terminate Sterling's ownership and Sterling probably has no chance in court to fight it.

    Sterling faces tough challenge

3/4 of the owners would have to vote to terminate Sterling's ownership.  I don't see that happening, not when a great many likely have attitudes similar to their fellow owner.

I heard them talk about this today and I wonder if the other owners would band together to get rid of Sterling in fear of owners ganging up on them if the got stuck in a Jim Irsay type situation, or a Dolan type situation with the sexual harrassment.  Still think they will go the Marge Schott route and tell him to bounce for a year and then work on him to sell the team

Intentionally hitting players, which can cause serious injuries, should be 'gotten rid of' period, it isn't the 1950s anymore.  It is a joke when a pitcher gets a five day suspension since they only pitch every five days anyway.  Brushing back is one thing, but "retaliating" for some unwritten rule by intentionally doing something that could lead to a serious injury is stupid and always has been.  I mean I know its not going anywhere, not until someone has their career ended by it anyway.  I still chuckle when I think about Greinke getting hurt when a batter charged him after he hit him on purpose, someone throws a 90 MPH baseball at me on purpose I am charging at them too, assuming I am still standing.

I think we agree to disagree on this one.  If your plunked, take it like a man, and go to first.  . . .

  4. They had Farrell on the radio in Toronto to talk about the piece and he spoke of why there are so many screwy decisions in big fights, like the judge that scored Mayweather-Alvarez a draw,  and how he figures Pacquiao-Bradley 1 was fixed and how it isn't that hard or expensive to pay off a judge.  Facinating stuff

  5. If you had "first at bat" in the Jose Reyes Injury Pool, please come to the desk to collect your prize.

Why they trotted him out to play in Montreal instead of keeping him in Florida until the season opener I will never know

  6. Bills arent going anywhere.  There are money guys willing to keep them there and they are busy trying to scrounge up 90 million bucks to gussy up BMO field in Toronto.  Dont know where they would find the billion or so dollars they would need for a new stadium.

  7. You know he is going to.  They already have the fiery torches ready to chase Reimer out of town.  At least he takes the heat off of David Clarkson for now.  Carlyle is hitting desperation mode now though.  Kessel, Bozak and JVR were on the ice for over 20 minutes against New Jersey.  May as well burn them out down the stretch

Is everyone sleeping on Derek Carr? I mean I know he's probably not first round material, but still.

My dream is Texans take Mathews with the #1 or Trade with Cleveland. Then with the 33rd Pick (First of the 2nd Round) They take Carr

    From page one

See that says to me you want them to take him to be their starter

I want it for the comedic value

Sounds like Oakland might beat them to it since sources have said they are smitten with him

  9.

Red getting Parish and McHale along with larry.

Spurs tanking the year Robinson was hurt and then getting Duncan.

Penguins getting Sid in the lottery.

Penguins getting Mario Lemieux in 1984. The Pens had one foot in Hamilton before that.
And then Mario buying the team to save them a second time.

Probably was in reality the fourth or fifth time the Pens were saved
