Baron Corbin on Jinder Mahal
yeah ain't no chance I was gonna remember either of them having a major title reign without help.. although I guess I remember the Jinder reign for the amount of internet irony it generated

gonna try estimating the matchtimes for Night 2
- Rollins/McIntyre: 25 minutes
- Six Man Philly Street Fight: 10 minutes
- Knight/Styles: 15 minutes
- Paul/Orton/Owens: 20 minutes
- Iyo/Bayley: 15 minutes
- Roman/Cody: 35 minutes
- Seth/Drew 10:30
- Street fight 8:35
- Knight/Styles 12:25
- Paul/Orton/Owens 17:40
- Bayley/Iyo 14:20
- Main event 33:05
So I went over on every match. Oops.

apparently Tyson Chicken is helping to get Calipari to maybe leave Kentucky for Arkansas

I honestly don't remember all the successful cash-ins... Priest cashing in on Drew isn't technically the first time a heel cashed in on a heel, is it? I'm sure there's something obvious you're about to tell me

Unneeded alternate idea for the run-in-palooza:
Solo comes out first, then Jimmy pretending to be Jey, then it's 3 on 1 once we figure out it's the evil Uso, then real Jey comes out, and the Usos fight, and maybe that means less of Solo acting like a Bond villain assuming that Cody would just go down
If we're going with "The Undertaker can just appear anywhere suddenly" as WWE canon, that's not actually his most ridiculous kayfabe power.
Anyways... the whole Shield thing was a fun head-nod to people thinking "Hey, is Moxley working without a contract again?"

it's kinda weird to wrap Wrestlemania this early though

Things I Remember from Night 2 of Wrestlemania 40:
Former ECW owner Stephanie McMahon makes an appearance
Drew has bagpipers, Seth has Mummers
Drew is the champion for a few seconds and then CM Punk unleashes the law of unintended consequences and now Damien Priest is the champ
Bubba Ray got a paycheck tonight
A brawl I don't remember I lot from aside from a Dudley Boys spot
LA Knight and AJ Styles had a fun suplex off the top rope
Logan Paul is still champ, they did the mascot thing again
Bayley is now an Egyptian and won the title
The Main Event was Clusterfuck Rules and lived up to the stips. A brawl for a bit.
Then Evil Uso
Then Good Uso
then they do a spot cooler than what they did last night
Then Solo does stuff and walks off assuming it went to plan
Then Cody kicks out
Then Solo does more stuff and walks off assuming it went to plan
Then Cody kicks out
Then John Cena finally shows up
Then the Rock shows up, Solo takes a table spot too
Then Cena gets taken out
Then Seth Rollins shows up in Shield gear and immediately gets nerfed like a dweeb
Then the Undertaker enters like he's now Sabu. Then he takes out the Rock and disappears.
Then Cody and Roman wake up and Cody wins the title.
I think that main event could have used interference from Arn Anderson, Ricky Steamboat, Rikishi, The Barbarian, A fake Goldust, Kane, The Boys, John Kruk, and The Hulkster.
Now that some have gotten what they've wanted, it's time to find out how they're not actually happy about it.

there's rumors of John Calipari bolting Kentucky for.....
....
......
ARKANSAS
(will this get Calipari a raise from Kentucky?)

commission-wise, I guess if you're not outright committing fraud in promoting someone who was unmasked as still having a mask?
would Lucha commission work under the premise of "don't make us look bad and pay us money"?
-
looks like the sun is out in Philadelphia, so it looks less gloomy than last night
-
South Carolina beats Iowa, and now will there be an upset tomorrow night or will UConn win back to back titles
-
Atlanta raves sounds like a heck of a party scene

There might be a certain amount of Calvinball to Lucha commissions but I suspect that as long as the promotion doesn't act like the unmasking never happened, it'll pass muster. As long as they're not mad at you for something else.
I guess there is a "fuck 1999 WCW booking" exception they made for Rey Mysterio

Sami beating Gunther has the potential to get around the whole "why wouldn't Gunther just want a rematch" (or the "how to make Gunther not challenging for the IC title not make the new champ look weak/insignificant" thing) by having Chad Gable on the scene to challenge Sami while Gunther does whatever until his WWE title match.
I don't know if they would have been able to do that as easily if Gable had beaten Gunther.

I’ve talked about the shit I didn’t like, but in the interest of good faith discussion, I’ll say that someone should win an Emmy for that continuous shot of Sami Zayn backstage where he was running into his family and Gable & Owens. As someone who’s done camera work & production, that’s not easy and deserves kudos.
also good work by Sami to hit stuff in the ramp walking there without messing that up
as for Jacob Fatu.. would be wild if he got to immediately go on WWE TV when pretty much all of their new arrivals (that weren't already in the WWE) end up working NXT for 3 years or being in the Performance Center for months (Jade)

Last June. HHH gave him a belt which is the "Undisputed Universal" title, at which point he stopped carrying the two belts. This came around the same time all the top-tier champions got new belts and Raw got the World Heavyweight Championship as their main belt.
oh okay.. on the weekly TV that I haven't watched much of.. I wasn't sure if Roman was under a new directive to only carry one belt because the Rock didn't want to make 2 People's Champion belts

One thing is I don't care for plucky babyface Jade. I think she needs to be baddie Jade just in WWE.
would Baddie Jade be more effective if it comes after a turn? as opposed to if she was just bad from the start?
there's probably a generalized sort of bully storyline they could go with where when everything is going great them she's great, and then if some adversity is introduced, her mood changes?

taping after a Dynamite, if they air taped matches in order, I guess there's a case to be made for closing off Rampage episodes with that sort of sprint match to try and juice the crowd a little to close out the show. Sorta like how fireworks shows try to close out with a bang.
there's a case to be made that some of how wrestling TV shows are laid out is a little too faithful to the era of head to head competition. This is something both top promotions have sort of an attachment to upholding. I know this might contradict me thinking they should have ended last night's Collision with the House of Black/Bucks vs FTR/Briscoe/Copeland schmozz
Also, TNT isn't gonna have Saturday Night basketball head to head with Wrestlemania Night 1 every year, so if AEW is on Saturday nights for one of those years, there has to be a way to duck going head to head with Wrestlemania that doesn't look like you're totally ducking Wrestlemania ("Hey TNT, can you air some alternate feed of the Final Four so we can air the show later at night?").. especially if you don't have a Clash of the Champions level card to try and compete.

Tony Schiavone who voiced on his own podcast that he's sick of this and wants to move on and doesn't want to talk about it. I doubt he likes how this is going right now.
Yeah out of all the people working in wrestling now, I could see Schiavone being a guy who didn’t exactly enjoy 1998/99 Bischoff and would prefer TK not veer onto that rail too.
Then again Schiavone had an insane workload around that time of WCW too so he was probably gonna be burnt out even if the promotion didn’t light itself on fire.

I don’t know how much new ground was broken last night with Penta and Komander but it was a good 10 minutes or so aired in pretty much the middle of the night in most of the country.

TK just needs to find his Joey Styles who can relay certain messages. Sorry Excalibur and Schiavone, you two might have too much credibility for this role.

*checks to see who currently holds the cursed WWE Women’s tag team titles*
hey it would make sense for Bianca/Jade to win those titles because they just wrestled Damage Control last night
-
Watching Collision last night my opinion of Joe/Dustin improved once they announced it wouldn’t be for the title. I mean the match should be interesting at worst but it initially seemed like they had just realized they could do a Rhodes/Samoan title match at the near last minute. Maybe pushing the limits of how much TV time you can spend indirectly/directly referencing people who don’t work here anymore.
Instead Joe beats Dustin on Wednesday and they keep the ball rolling with the Swerve match.

yeah that almost would have been better if they had brought out a Fake Roman Reigns in Shield gear to fight Roman Reigns
