AUD is trading at 68 US cents, I'd be shocked if the money is found to make it happen. I fully expect him to make an appearance here (he's usually here every 1-2 years filming a movie on the Gold Coast), but doubt they're doing Rock/Reigns here.
I wonder if they'd consider a tag match at Mania to cover the aforementioned issues with Rock being able to work a decent Mania standard match.

The Streisand effect of any potential lawsuit especially in the broader context of a TV rights deal negotiation would be massive, even if this guy is a hack peddling defamatory content off gossip and hearsay.
If my network wants to obtain AEW programming at a cheaper rate (or solidify my links and goodwill to the competition), why not wall to wall news coverage of the trial that exposes their top star as potentially being a monster with links to the January 6 insurrection, and subsequently protected by the wealth of one of the richest families in world sports?

I want Juice vs Roddy segment. I think you need a Jay White/Cole confrontation otherwise he looks weak AF.
Everything else is probably awful for the reasons you've mentioned.

Agreed. For all the talk about Adam Cole getting very little out of this exchange, Wardlow gets even less.
Hates MJF that much he's willing to join a faction with three goofs and a guy on one leg, while helping another guy he has history with win the title

On a positive note - I think Dustin and Swerve did an amazing job of making the crowd care about a last minute put together consolation prize. Did Dustin's comeback last too long, and the cinder block feel out of place rather than as the finish? A little. Nonetheless the audience has such goodwill towards Swerve at the moment that it doesn't matter.
There's no one I can stand less on the current roster than Edge, but that was match of the night by a fair way. A credit to them that they were able to move out of their wheelhouse and give not only something different but something that fit the storyline. I was really worried we were going to get The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever mk II and was pleasantly surprised. Now put over Nick Wayne..

I don't like Nigel's PBP as it's the majority of his entire contribution and it's just putting himself over for something that is unlikely to happen, and if it did, I doubt it would particularly resonate with the majority of the audience. The rest is just generic talking points that seem to be inserted in every match. It'd be like if Heenan doing commentary in the late 80s would talk about Hogan the entire show (and he did in later WCW which was awful).
We sort of touched on the Abadon/Julia match in the chat and how it completely whiffed on the story, on the relevant character motivations etc.
It's arguably the best use of the open stipulation gimmick that biting is legal.
And then the biting is barely referred to in the match. (with three subsequent matches that have it instead).
Surely you build a match around that stipulation and Abadon's limitations in ring, that Julia is able to avoid getting bit by any means necessary, and that if she does get bit, it's over. That maybe even the title isn't even that important here, the undead zombie just wants to bite her.
Instead you get Abadon arguing with the referee on two counts, trying to hit flash pins and out wrestle Julia. The sort of things that would ruin the suspension of disbelief when it's Undertaker, George Steele, Kamala, etc.
Julia Hart needs a new finish, not just because the moonsault looks awful, but again, is it consistent with the character and her motivations. The submission also probably needs some work around how it is applied and why. It could work if it's the sort of thing that's applied not necessarily to win a wrestling match, so much as it's seen as a brutal method of suffering being inflicted, or that she's been able to outsmart an opponent into falling prey to it. In most cases it feels a bit too Bret Hart setting an opponent up for the winning move.

They should do a bit where a heel tag team (Bear Country) are making fun of a natural disaster, and then the Hurricane comes out to confront them, gets beaten down, and then a bluster of pro wrestling storms come out (Lonce, James, Tim) unsuccessfully leading to Typhoonfred Ottman turning the tide. Then the entire locker room empties and they pay tribute to the original Quake by the Lake and Tony Khan gives John Tenta's family a sweet expensive but thoughtful gift, and then Chris Jericho (NDA investigation pending) leads everyone in a singalong of Earthquake's entrance music and Judas.

Surely they're not building towards a Blood and Guts of Kingdom/Cole/Wardlow vs MJF/Page/Acclaimed.
Kingdom being used as patsys to do the Devil's bidding only to be replaced by a stronger trio probably not only helps that match but also furthers the conspiracy theorist angle too.

I'm too much of a dork to nitpick her gear choices to notice these things.
She gets black misted and turns evil, but still has to get the Scooby Doo cosplay gear in because new gear is expensive. Then when she goes all in evil supernatural character, she still keeps the elaborate kinesiology tape everywhere because sports injury management is still important.

AEW rarely go two weeks without an unmasking segment. Good thing they drew the line at their world champion not being able to unmask hired goons.

I think it's difficult to find a happy medium between an all star goon squad (it took all four of them to take down Joe, Hangman, or MJF? Who takes the falls in matches?) and a really underwhelming reveal of one big name and like....The Kingdom, which just isn't going to work for a Blood and Guts program.
I think the Patriarchry is probably the closest to the pin in that respect.

That segment was probably the worst in AEW history from a perspective that those responsible should know better. Self indulgent and awful. At least the Brandi/Lambert segment was entertaining.
I miss Dan Lambert.
Women's match was sad to watch as Ruby just ends up a massive afterthought in a segment they could have done so much more with (nothing for Ang or Saraya? The refusal to properly acknowledge that they were a team like two months ago other than awkwardly handwave it away on commentary), instead it came off like their usual weekly ugh women take it or leave segment.
Mox flipping off Paul Turner post match almost made me think there was a screwed up finish. It was an interesting choice to have Swerve drop one here while he's hot but I assume he gets his win back in the semi.
The devil stuff feels like they're already setting up blood and guts (Acclaimed, Hangman on one side, the Devil and his goons on the other, MJF, Joe, Cole, Kingdom lurking around). Please don't be Jack Perry.
Right call made on no real Christian/Edge followup this week.
