Probably will be Keith Lee. Was wishful thinking from me for some crazy ass drama in the wrestling world - but I can only imagine the millions that would cost. Poor take from me.
Maybe. But it’s a fun take.

I’ve heard this was also the night that one of my cousins was really unhappy that Hulk lost in this fashion.
This was fucking HUGE for me. I came in on the MTV wave. Between that and Hulks guest spot on The A Team. I found my way in to wrestling. Hogan at the point was a god level character. Invincible.
When Andre won… for me anyway. The world became a completely different place. Hogan had been champion the entirety of my fandom at that point. I don’t recall if I had predicted a winner prior to February 5th 1988. But I had no clue what was coming. The image of the two near identical yet familiar referees (Dave Hebner was a name and face I knew among WWFs refs) gave me what was probably my first hallucinogenic experience. I would have more legitimate ones in the years to come.
Plus that Hebner bump up the aisle was Hell in a Cell worthy in the pantheon of moves where I was sure somebody died.
What do you want? I was 12.
When Hogan cried about plastic surgery? I considered this a plausible explanation.
I was pretty mad that I didn’t get to see the Hart Foundation match as the show went off the air too.

I have been watching random WWF PPVs from between 1988 and 1994 as I work in the background. I watched Summerslam '91 and then KotR '93 (my personal favorite PPV ever because I had it on tape as a kid and know it by heart).
I'm not sure which Hitman/Perfect match is better. Before today, I would have sworn that KotR was better, but man did I love the last few minutes of Summerslam's match. I really love it when someone hits their best shot, it only gets two, and they inevitably slide toward defeat. Perfect's wild bumping and growing realization that he was in over his head was capped off by the Perfectplex getting two. Everything about his facial expressions and body movements read like an athlete who basically was just playing out the string because he had nothing left for his opponent.
On the other hand, the rematch was suitably mean, built on the finger injury Hart sustained from the match against Razor, and had that fun "my dad can beat your dad" dueling promo beforehand.
I wish there was good footage of the Anchorage house show match that Bret holds in such high esteem because he seems to think that's their best bout, and if it's better than both of these, it must be something.
It's too bad that in Bret's book, he was mostly sore about not being WWF champ anymore because of the IX fuckery and Lawler being reckless with the throne because he had a fantastic night at KotR. Every match he had was fun and creative, and he sold accumulating damage so well. Tour de force performance from him, IMO.
KOTR 93 was such an anomaly in WWF PPVs at the time. It was just a straight rasslin’ show without much bullshit. Love it!

If Orton never made it to the WWF, he definitely would've been one of those seemingly 800 early-mid 00s Indie wrestlers who used Headstrong by Trapt as his entrance music.
Add a frayed visor baseball cap it’s all Dave Mathew’s Band fan.
Damn, he looks like he’d just bogart all the joints. Every time.
Somehow I doubt me and Orton could be pals. Me with all my good taste. Him with all that him. It just can’t be.

Bane showing up was such a pro wrestling introduction. Got to get the new monster heel over immediately.
It totally worked. That scene was riveting.

I think it's fine to start the show with a big segment like what they did tonight, but I don't care for opening up Dynamite for your biggest segment either. You should be building to your main event and trying to sustain your audience rather than frontloading the show.
So do I. After a few big ones starting the show recently. I really liked a different framework for this episode. Even if this one was a bit more traditional wrestling and less reflected of the needs of television ratings.

I’m really glad for the change up from doing the big match at the start of the show. AEW has a couple of formulas that they often follow. So at this point it was a wise move to change it up.
I’m somewhat bewildered by the response to the show and especially the main event. Nothing on this show got to me. I thought this might have been the worst episode they’ve done as it pertains to promos.
Brandi looked super fucking hot tonight. But man did some of her one-liners fall flatter than old gum on the pavement. Lambert tried. But I really wished he walked his suggested political line with a bit more grace. You say “conservative” on the show and it likely to distract from the point of building whatever it is they are pushing towards. I’m not saying don’t have a conservative character. Perhaps just BE IT and present it rather than LABEL IT.
I guess I’ll have to rewatch Punk/MJF. I didn’t think the match really got going until the Pepsi Plunge. I missed the impact that a lot of you highlighted with Punks selling. I didn’t buy the tape/choking gimmick at all. Though the camera trick with the passing of The Ring of Power from Wardlow to MJF was clever. Set up nicely with the big guys wavering loyalty assisting the sleight of hand.
I’ll add the caveat that watching the show first thing in the morning isn’t always working for me. At 47 years old 6:30am is blurry and sleepy. Which thinking back wasn’t much different for me at 18.
Love ya AEW.
Off to work. Fuck!

Man! And here I am and all I wanted was for Kendrick to give Moxley the Burning Hammer. A move he had no business giving Kota Ibushi! NONE!
Somebody acknowledge my anger thing!

So is it all “battle going wrong” next week with Luke and Grogu sweeping in to save the day?

Apparently everyone who signed up to appear as a Thunderdome fan might also be in the game. Because it was in the T&Cs they didn’t read.
So I guess Kenny Omega is in the game. Didn’t he show up on one of the screens on SD?

Wasn't Shane potatoing the fuck out of everyone in the Rumble? I guarantee he saw this gif a bunch of times since then and was like "I'LL SHOW THEM!"
Speaking of potatoes, can someone remind me of where this quote comes from? "Kid, just go ahead and hit me with your shoot punches because your working punches are killing me."
Ricky Morton if I’m not mistaken.

To me it looked like he was in someone's backpack. Maybe we'll have further flashbacks. Looked like he was with the other younglings and with Hayden meant to be reprising his role in Obi Wan, maybe they'll create some additional footage of Grogu escaping him.
This was my favourite episode of Boba Fett so far and top 5 even including Mando series as well. So many guest stars and live action Cad Bane looked phenomenal. So mean-looking.
I want Grogu to be a badass jedi/mandalorian so badly!
You might be onto something with Hayden. I heard that Ming Na didn’t immediately know what show she was doing when TBOBF was shot. Assuming that it was Mando season 3.
So I gather these crafty set of show runners could pull off an out of suit Vader cameo.
I’ll have my shitting pants on just in case.

That was nucking futs!!! Loved this episode.
The duel towards the end was a serious high point for me. The tension was incredible. Looks like Freetown is gonna gets pissed. Boba vs. Bane or a Bane vs. Shand rematch?
How about that cliff hanger? Grogu has a huge choice to make. I have to guess maybe he’ll choose both since they’ve been name dropping Tar Visla who was also both Mandalorian and a Jedi.
But how did Grogu survive Order 66 now that we know he was there? Maybe it won’t matter?
Great seeing Rosario again. Lukes deepfake looked much improved.-

So Lesnar knew that he would lose the title and get screwed by Heyman, entered the Rumble beforehand and drew number 30.
It’s less of a plot “twist” and more of a plot knot.

It actually came to my attention when somebody posted the cover of "Where Is My Mind" with OC in the video. Gwarsenio's cover arrangements are so good! And I loved going to see bands like Cave In and Converge when I was a teen so seeing those dudes is rad. Shit, seeing Ian from Kowloon Walled City in one of the videos - a dude I used to talk to online a ton - made me mark out.
Jacob and Kurt from Converge were a year behind me in high school. One of my favorite bands. Which basically by proxy made me a Cave In fan too. Cuz that’s how it works in the Merrimack Valley Hardcore scene.

Gwarsenio is #AllElite!!!!
Although I wish he'd had more metal/hc dudes on that song, like motherfuckin Steve Brodsky or something.
I can’t express how much it pleases me that some of you here are aware of Gwarsenio and 2 Minutes to Late Night. AEW and bedroom covers. Together at last.
It’s like that one time Mick Foley was on Kevin Smiths SMODCAST a few years ago.
”OMG! Two of my favorite things in the same place!” Lols!

I was reflecting on the Julia Black vignette. First, unlike the TNT title with the open challenge, we have the champ calling out her opponents - interesting reverse. Then Julia is now not wearing the cheerleader outfit - loving the booking here.
She even wears the eye patch when they do bits on Sammy’s vlog. Committed!

Brandon Bones is awesome. It never dawned on me that we may have just witnessed the break-up of 2 Fast 2 Fuego.
It also would not break my heart if Danhausen was restricted to comedy relief at the commentator's booth and never set foot in an AEW ring.
Thank you, brother, brother, brother.
I enjoy your posts as well.

Don’t worry. I’m taking the hit for all of us. But my take on the game will be complete malarkey since I don’t actually PLAY the game. I just use it for my sim league. But I can at least tell you not to buy it if Becky Lynch’s skull leaves her head skin again.
