  1. When Bully Ray was walking backstage, you see in the background Dixie and Spud talking to James Storm (I think). Dixie and Spud duck behind something, Storm walks the other way, and Angle bends down to hide sitting in a chair in front of them. I think Magnus is stretching maybe ten feet away. It's comical because it looks like they are hiding from a camera other than the one that is actually shooting.

Except for Angle, that's not an outrageous break of kayfabe --  Dixie and Spud are talking to the bitter tag team partner of the man who's going to be facing their chosen World Champion down the line.

I mean, heck, Dixie *is* the boss.

  2. Ok, so no Angle, no Styles, no Hardy, and presumably no Sting.

Is there anybody left on the roster besides Bully who means anything at all in Japan?

Daniels? Sabin (I don't know, but Shelley's doing well over there so maybe?) [[REDACTED INVESTOR NAME]]? And if Joe's going to get motivated, Japan's as likely as anything to cause it.

  3.

Following his actions toward the referee at Sunday’s Royal Rumble event, WWE has fined Brock Lesnar $10,000. The ruling came down less than 48 hours after The Anomaly delivered an onslaught to Big Show at the pay-per-view in Pittsburgh. His tirade continued the next night on Raw when a furious Lesnar attacked former WWE Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes and Goldust. -- WWE.com

I post this not because it is particularly compelling kayfabe news, but because... The Anomaly?

Where does WWE come up with these retarded fucking nicknames?

Star Trek? Just wait til the Rift in the Space-Time Continuum make their debut.

At first, I thought it was just a mis-spellchecked typo of the Authority.

  4. there'd be a solid reason to do Shield v. Wyatts at EC.

So the EC match is.... Orton v. Cena v. Bryan v. Sheamus v. Brock v..... I shouldn't blank on the 3rd heel, should I? I was thinking they'd put Bray in the EC match. They could put Bray and Reigns in the match with Orton, Cena, Bryan, Sheamus, then put Rollins/Ambrose v. Luke/Rowan. But that could put off the "THE SHIELD EXPLODES" storyline since Reigns is the guy turning face out of those 3.

Figure we might get Del Rio/Batista at EC, if Batista's caught his breath by then. I'd keep Brock out of the chamber, myself, but then they'd really have slim pickings since he's just packed Show and Henry off for the time being. Punk, maybe?

  5. Too bad HHH married the boss's daughter and became successful at his chosen profession because he totally missed his calling as a message board troll. That opening promo combining Gonzalez's mic skills with FSW's workrate was a thing of absolute beauty.

"You have reached your quota of positive votes for the day."

  6. Ambrose sold that Brogue kick like a cartoon wolf getting hit by a brick.

That's something that the Shield don't get enough credit for. They're a dominant unit, had a great run -- and they have no trouble showing ass. Just look at that Roman Reigns "falls on his butt" .gif from a house show.

  7. Everyone figured Ryback had gone off the reservation a couple weeks ago and in reality they were just using Twitter to try and enhance his character. I can't not think that the same thing's in play here.

You mean that part where he deleted his entire Twitter, then claimed he'd been hacked?

  8.

Not saying that Cena/Orton is quality entertainment. But it doesn't really send much of a message when you spend hundreds of dollars, shit all over the matches, and then keep spending money on the fed. If you don't like it, send them a actual message and stop this Cubs Fan "we'll buy tickets no matter how little the org merits our money" bullshit.

They are probably making people do six-month commitments to the WWE Network to avoid people throwing hissy fits and cancelling their subscription after a PPV that they hate. They've found a way to suck money in from people who hate how Daniel Bryan is being used.

Right, except they don't have my sixty bucks yet, do they?

Are you willing to vow never to give them money over this, no matter how awesome their programming is?

I used to get PPVs fairly regularly, once upon a time.

I get the Rumble now. I got MitB when Punk was leaving, and I think maybe the one after. I've stopped watching Raw and Smackdown - I actually cancelled that channel off of my cable package without a moment's thought.

So I'm at least one "die hard" fan they've largely managed to alienate.

The Network, when it comes to Canada, might get me to give them money again. But it might not.

Also, there's a Catch-22. If you buy a PPV, then people say you're just giving them money no matter what so your opinion doesn't matter. If you don't buy a PPV, then people say you're not a paying customer so your opinion doesn't matter.

    Didn't see the show yet. But here's Bryan's Twitter -- Daniel Bryan ‏@WWEDanielBryan 4m

Sorry guys, the machine wanted me nowhere near the Royal Rumble match. But I thank everyone for their support. YOU are the #YESMovement

He was kept out by the machine. There's an angle right there.

Now we find Junji Hirata and we kill him

Seriously though, I like Daniel Bryan, but Rey has contributed more to wrestling than he ever will, suck my dick Pittsburgh

At this point Rey Misterio has an Undertaker schedule without the mystique, he can't hit the highspots that made him famous, and he's outclassed by the half of the roster in every other area. If he has to be in the Rumble, he should be in and out early.

  10. The Bryan/Wyatt match was great.

The Show/Lesnar... thing.. was... a thing.

The Cena/Orton match was all kinds of mediocre, but the crowd made it a must-see.

The Rumble wasn't bad. The Del Rio/Santino ending was pretty weak. And I kind of feel bad for Batista to walk back into... this. It's amazing how the audience and I were in almost perfect agreement all the way through, though. And hearing Rey Mysterio get boo'd out of the building almost worth the price of admission by itself.
