  1.

Talking about the first EC in the other thread...

What if RVD is a little further off with his dive onto HHH in the first Elimination Chamber and Hunter dies of a crushed windpipe?

Then there's a debate about if the first EC should be on the Network

In all seriousness, though, this would change things a lot. First, RVD would probably never work for WWE again. Obviously, everything Triple H has been involved with since that time (which is almost everything) would be different - Evolution wouldn't be the faction it was, so Orton and Batista don't get their initial World Title runs when/how they did. The Hunter/Michaels/Benoit triple threat from WrestleMania doesn't take place. Sheamus has no workout buddy to champion his cause.

And a second televised death, less than a decade after Owen's, would probably have further repercussions. Probably the EC itself doesn't get trotted out any more, and the in-ring style probably gets toned down sooner than it was.

  2. What if Goldberg had legitimately feuded with Jericho in WCW? I mean, obviously Goldberg doesn't lose at any point, but would it have elevated Jericho or kept him from leaving for the WWF when he did? And if Jericho doesn't go to the WWF when he does and establish himself there, the Radicalz might be less inclined to leave because their success if less certain.

  3. AWA didn't have the exposure WWF had. WWF would have just rolled with Snuka or someone else.

But Snuka, or Savage, or Steamboat -- none of them could have been The Guy the way Hogan was. And without the WWF behind him, Hogan would never have amounted to the same thing either. Separately, neither Vince nor Hogan would have had the impact they had together.

  4. If Hogan gets the AWA title, the WWF boom never happens to the extent it does. Maybe Vince still gets some mainstream exposure thanks to Cyndi Lauper, but as much as it pains me to say it, nobody else at that point would have had the connection with the fans (especially the kids) that Hogan did. Without him as a focal point, the WWF wouldn't be as successful, and the whole landscape winds up different.

  5. The "Husky Harris" chants didn't last long, so Bray Wyatt could count.

Do they ever talk about K-Kwik when Truth is on?

Of course, going back a bit, you had Isaac Yankem -> Fake Diesel. Kane doesn't count due to the mask.

    Damien Sandow was Idol Stevens.

Dustin Rhodes was in the WWF for a while in 90-91, I think.

    It wasn't just Kama/Papa Shango, but Kama/Papa Shango/Godfather.

I'm assuming we're ignoring guys who transitioned from enhancement talent to superstars.

  6. I'm gonna trust a wrestler who has wrestled him saying Burke is the shits in the ring over some dude saying he wasn't.

    Sorry.

Like maybe his shit just really fucking hurt or he didn't protect his opponent well.

    He was pretty charismatic though.

He and Punk had a pretty rough match-up in ECW. Didn't click at all - a chunk of it is on an early Botchamania, I think.

I think it was a mixture of stiffness and a bit of sloppy work. But I really liked Burke in TNA and hope he winds up in Jarrett's... whatever it is.
