  1. I think having KENTA in NXT is good for a few reasons.

    1) It will help them figure out a gimmick for him that works without throwing him out there to sink or swim (cf Husky Harris vs. Bray Wyatt)

    2) If there's any language issues, he'll have that much more time to work on his English before hitting the main roster

3)The overlap between NXT viewers and puro fans is probably decent (better than the greater WWE/puro ratio) but definitely not 100%; with luck, it will result in a) a bit of a boost to viewers/the Network; b) more familiarity with his work amongst the WWE viewership.

Sure, you could fantasy book KENTA vs. Daniel Bryan til PPV headline matches til the cows come home, but rushing anyone into a main roster debut is a good way to risk another Sin Cara or Tensai. (At least if Tensai had started on NXT they might have eliminated the fetish diaper before everyone saw it.)

  2. That top rope slam/dropkick/footstomp not being the end of the match is okay, on its own, seeing as how both guys are out of the ring and there are other participants.

I haven't seen the match (I only watch CZW in Botchamania form) so I can't comment on the sanity of what came after it, mind.

  3. I just watched Maffew's long-awaited SinCaraMania video, and two things occur to me

    1) Del Rio was decent when he was beating up Sin Cara.

    2) Sin Cara must be the biggest high-profile flop in recent memory, no? I mean, he got a press conference to hype him up, got to tag with Cena on Raw, got his own lighting -- and then just stank up the joint. He was like if you took Blood Runs Cold, the Shockmaster, and Nathan Jones in a blender and then poured the resulting grey goo into a generic luchador outfit.

  4.

Wikipedia says Finlay suffered nerve damage so bad in that junkyard match he almost lost the use of the leg - which may explain the fact that him winning the tournament was pretty much not mentioned again, since he had to rehab for months.

I thought that was at a house show where he did a table spot and it had fiberglass in it that fucked his leg all up.

Yeah, that's my bad. I skimmed the article and conflated the two incidents.

  5. Well, here you go, as per PWInsider:

Gene Snitsky and the former Ezekiel Jackson, who were brought in at the NYC tapings to be part of Dixie Carter's forces, are also already done. They were only booked for two of the three NYC tapings with the idea that Carter using them as "real" ECW guys would get heat in NYC and also showcase how far gone the Carter character had gotten. They were booked for the tapings and were not brought in with the idea that they were going to be signed.
