Playboy does actually publish some great writing.

God, this is the best thread drift ever.

I'm having a hard time with the idea that Hogan had less than 30 defenses during his 49 month first title reign. Partly because I watched about 12 title defenses of his up through 9/7/84 a few years ago for an aborted Hulkamania project. And his reign lasted another 3+ years after that.

Shane Black being attached is the best news about the franchise since the first film.

On that tip, god I wish the other 20ish songs Trent Reznor and Zach De La Rocha did together would see the light of day.

It's just too damn easy to add color filters in post these days.
It used to you had to gel up the lights, and get it all perfectly lit with the exact right color combinations and you only did when it had a serious (at least in the minds of the director and DP) artistic reasons.
Now, you shoot it in normal light, and can just fiddle with color filters on the computer until you whatever looks cool.
Yes, I am bitching about modern technology right now. Get the hell off my lawn.

I... You mean someone might actually take Smith's contract?
And even give the Pistons something in return for him?
Seriously?
No, seriously?
Cause if we can clear the triple big logjam by moving him, then by all means resign Monroe.

Oh, shit, it was two singles. I totally forgot about Kush.

Oh shit, Detox never came out? Weren't there two singles released from it?
I believe he started work on it the first time in 2001. Abandoned it, returned and basically started over years later (there was definitely one single released during that time period, maybe two) and then it just kinda... stopped.
I loved last year when Snoop did a AMA, "When is Detox coming out" was one of the questions, and he was just "I have no fucking idea."
And... Yup, still waiting Dre.
And that was Heltah Skeltah, bro. Get it right.
I'm still not sure how it became a D.O.C. album.

If I can find them - I will try and find JDW notes from the Best of the 90s voting that can act as a guide post for at least the matches Matt mentioned.
I know it's available - just gotta find where
I wonder if there is any chance that John still has them?
I mean, I don't know why he would have kept them for over a decade, but who knows.

Honestly, I barely remember the movie except for the incredibly stupid "survived an atomic explosion in a fridge" scene that led to me making the same "Indy 5 will be Indiana Jones and the Incredibly Painful Death from Cancer" joke roughly 8,000 times in the next two weeks.
I also remember hating it. HATING it.
But what in particular I hated... Eh, it was years ago and I'm not about to revisit it.
(AND FUCKING WATCH RAIDERS, DUDE!!!!!!!)

I just watched that Indiana Jones movie with Shia LaBeouf, and it really wasn't all that bad. I really enjoyed it, actually. Why does everyone seem to hate it?
We shall now all begin shunning tristof

I feel like this promotion is going to become the wrestling equivalent of Duke Nukem Forever or "Chinese Democracy."
I think Dr. Dre's Detox album is the new go-to example for this.
(We're still waiting Dre. Right here. We know it'll be brilliant. Just waiting. No hurry.)

Thing about TMNT is, it works best (and I am going to flat out say the original comics are the best it ever worked) when it's completely absurd, but presented completely straight. Giant anthropomorphized turtles who are A.) Teenagers and B.) Ninjas is an incredibly ridiculous idea, but it should never be laughed at in universe. Play it perfectly straight, and let the humor come from the basic premise.

Predators was a sequel, not a reboot.

I hate to agree with the Waiter, but, man, if I live to be 150, I'll never understand the appeal of police procedural shows.

WOJ!
Also, I am now wondering how amazing Magic would be in the modern NBA with no hand checking and zone defenses now being allowed.

"I'm the guy who does his fucking job. You must be the other guy." Remains the best line of both The Departed and his career.

Marky Mark is very hit or miss for me.

Didn't one of the Reggie White/Jerome Brown/et al Philly defenses lead the NFL in both rushing yards allowed and passing yards allowed, but miss the playoffs anyway?

Interestingly enough, despite being out on blu-ray/dvd/streaming/etc, The Lego Movie is still selling tickets, and actually went back ahead of Winter Soldier for #1 on the year, by a little less than 20,000 bucks.

Human Torch was left out of the Seventies FF Cartoon because of the idea that kids might try to set themselves on fire, not because of any copyright issue.
AFAIK, that's an urban legend, and Torch had actually been optioned for a movie that never materialized.

Dragon has a pretty steep drop for an animated film.

It's not as good as the career best for both guys at No Mercy, but it's good.

According to Wiki, he did release a solo album (Hittmanic Verses) but I've never heard of it, much less actually listened to it.
