Sucks to be them, though they can apparently still get a bowl game if there aren't enough .500 schools to qualify.
The Tarleton State (8-3, 4-2 United Athletic Conference) appeal is weird as I don't even think they're an FBS school yet.

A Quad 1 home win? In my Bradley? Etc etc...

JMU and the Sun Belt have formally written the NCAA requesting "relief" from the bylaw that bans transitioning schools from a postseason bowl. We shall see what we shall see.

A Quad 1 win? In my Bradley? It's more likely than you think!

Sucks for Grandpa Rossy. I hope the Cubs gave him a heads up and otherwise take care of him... but this sounds like they're going all-in for 2024.

Horrific news out of England as Nottingham Panthers forward and former Pittsburgh Penguin Adam Johnson has passed away following an on-ice accident at Sheffield Steelers.
Yes, there is video. No, don't even think of posting it. RIP.

Give me more of supervillain Swerve, that was great shit.
It was fantastic, riveting stuff... to the point that I'm not sure how they can pay it off short of Hangman flat-out murdering Swerve. I love that even his heater Nana was like "dude."
Very amused at them holding a PPV called "World's End" at the Nassau Mausoleum. Been there, can confirm.

I was waiting to bring it up since it was a... thing... locally last week
James Madison is still undefeated (7-0) - that is a record for a team doing the transition from the FCS to the FBS. They have also beaten six FBS teams which is also a record for a team in year two of the transition.
The entered the AP rankings this week (#25)
Here is the.... thing
They are ineligible for a bowl game because they are in year 2 of the transition from FCS to FBS
And the kicker - they are ineligible for the Sun Belt Conference championship game because Sun Belt by-laws say a team that isn't eligible for a bowl game is ineligible for the championship game.
So right now - the only way the can make a bowl game is if there aren't enough other bowl eligible teams to fill all the bowl spots.
The NCAA already denied JMU's appeal back in April - and in typical NCAA fashion - made it harder for teams to transition from FCS to FBS
Jacksonville State is in a similar situation... they can go to 7-2 with a win over FIU tonight and there's a realistic chance they could finish with 10 wins (yes, that includes their game with the other Gamecocks next week), but they're in their first transition season so they will stay home come bowl season barring a lack of eligible teams.

Today's hilarious, unprovable Twitter rumor is that Kentucky got nuked by Chicago State 103-69 in a secret scrimmage. As you were.

So let's take a look at how Kevin Sumlin is doing as the Terps' co-OC.

Was going to post that later when I had chance. Maybe his best ever cartoon.
His obits are typically quite lovely. But I'd go with "North Bank Redemption."

It was the right call. It sucks but the rule is "An invalid signal is any waving signal by a player of Team B that does not meet the requirements of [a valid fair catch]." Iowa PR clearly waved and it clearly wasn't a valid fair catch signal (above his head). There's really no debate here.
Also, Iowa had TWO years in the second half.
I know what you meant to say but that really is what it felt like.
