AEW Dynasty didn't need Bullet Club Gold vs. The Acclaimed/Billy Gunn and Hook vs. Chris Jericho. Unnecessary filler which will pad out the runtime even more especially when it goes out in the early hours of the morning.

The trios is a Zero Hour match so it wouldn't be adding any time.

I'm trying to get reacquainted with AEW programming and I can't recall... what is the difference between Rampage and Collision? I thought they only had two shows. Is Rampage just jobber matches?

Rampage is essentially WCW Saturday Night under Jimmy Hart's booking, it's own little world in the AEW ecosystem

In other news, the announced matches over the next week are the most interesting ones in a while.

    Dynamite:

    • Copeland vs PENTA
    • Joe vs Dustin (Eliminator)
    • Jericho/HOOK/Shibata vs Taylor/Moriarty/Ogogo
    • Mariah May vs Anna Jay II

    Rampage:

    • Julia Hart vs Leyla Hirsch

    BOTB

    • Strong vs Rocky (Eliminator)

That's all stuff that I am legitimately looking forward to or are just weird and wacky enough to be interesting.

I'm excited they're running May/Jay back so soon. It sounds like a blast.

Seeing some people on Bluesky advocating for AEW to sign Motor City Machine Guns. I’ve liked their work that I’ve seen over the years (hate their theme song though). But also I feel like the fact I’ve been seeing their work since the early 2000s is a big point against them, especially with the style they wrestle. Then again, they’re both in their very early 40s. Given the already very full roster, I’m not sure if I’d sign them.

You've got to factor in ROH usage as well. Their names carry weight there too. Singles or Tag action.

Buddy has, what, twice as many years experience? And I bet Bowens can do just about anything Buddy does if he was allowed to.

Looking at Cagematch, Bowens hasn’t had a singles match in AEW (or anywhere) in over 2 years. Last one was February 23, 2022 Rampage against Orange Cassidy in a Face of the Revolution qualifying match. But one of his rare AEW singles matches (10 total in AEW) was as one of Bryan Danielson’s first matches (hand picked) on November 5, 2021.

I always thought we should've gotten a Bowens/Punk match (we got Caster/Punk once and a trios with Gunn Club/Caster).

How many times in ROH history has the Pure Champion challenged for the ROH Title?

Broke down the Cagematch title histories

Samoa Joe was Pure Champ when Punk lost the title in the 4 way against James Gibson.

Nigel beat Danielson by Count Out when both titles were on the line in 2006 at Weekend Of Champions

Danielson beat Nigel while Nigel was Pure Champ at Generation Now, then finally the unification in Liverpool.

    Post Revival Pure Title

Shibata was Pure Champ when he fought Eddie Kingston for the ROH World/NJPW Strong at Wrestledream.

And last but not least, Yuta taking on Eddie on Rampage.

Only the Nigel/Danielson series had the Pure Title on the line in addition for the World.

Perhaps we'll find out more about Joe's first challenger tonight. My gut is telling me it will be a 'lets heat up Kane again I guess'-guy, like Lance Archer or Brian Cage. I could also see them getting right to Wardlow/Joe as a sort of agreed-upon payment for the help of the then-unknown devil/goons weeks ago, but unless there's a shock Wardlow W (which I don't want, Joe deserves a real reign) I don't dig the timing.

Plus, the Wardlow/Hobbs/Joe stuff for the TNT title in '21 kinda screwed up all three and the belt for a minute there - Id like to put that further in the rearview before revisiting Joe/Wardlow singally

Edit: what do you guys think about this over the next few months?

    Joe -> Hangman -> Swerve

Brian Cage would be a great way to bring in Swerve to the title picture as it'd keep Nana and Mogul Embassy in focus.

That being said, ugh Brian Cage.

What are the odds the devil is Tully and the masked goons are all the ex-pinnacle guys coming back to haunt MJF? Would be a bit of dissonance with what FTR are doing and the guys tonight didn't look like them physique-wise, but personally think it would be a better choice than any of the obvious contenders.

Would tie in with the Mogul Embassy too as we all remember Prince Nana's return to forming the Embassy this go around was from taking the reigns from Tully Blanchard Enterprises

oh yeah... I have no idea who the woman was in the segment with Saraya and Ruby but she looked good and then randomly pulled out a knife. So I'm guessing Saraya wasn't trying to get Ruby on a date with a nice girl instead of Angelo Parker

That's Harley Cameron, formerly of the QTV Squad and the highlight of the group (outside of QT himself).

The guy playing Kerry Von Erich, Jeremy Allen White, he's in the Next Big Thing spot in Hollywood.

Much like Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher in the Reacher movies, he portrays an energy much bigger, and suits the person/character he's being despite their small stature.

Earlier today my iPad was telling me that I had been banned and I was wondering what I did given that I haven’t posted any particularly spicy takes or attacked anyone. Turns out it was an iPad issue but all the same, with Santa doing last minute prep, I’ll be extra nice. Plus I likely won’t be able to watch this week’s shows until I’m home next week.

Glad to see the situation is resolved!

@porksweats in "Honor" of some pretty enjoyable ROH PPV pre-show action, here's some olde schoole ROH full matches featuring A-Pre-W and Before They Were Superstars type interesting/unexpected match-ups. Take your pick!I

As always, no WWE or NXT for ole Gordlow, please. I am kind of in the mood for Big Meaty Men Smashing Meat Hoss Fight Kaiju Battle type action, but I am not going to insist on it, if you had something else in mind.

All 3 of these sound great! In exchange, I want to make sure I thoroughly meet the Big Meat Hoss Fight standards, so here's 3 that could fit the bill

First, Rhino in NOAH back in 2019!

Second option - One of my favorite Roadblock matches

Third Option - A Trios with some Giants on each side!
