Legendary horse trainer D. Wayne Lukas passed away on Saturday night at his home in Louisville. He was 89 years old.

Missed my window to buy turnips for this week. I forgot that Daisy Mae only hangs out on the island until noon. Ah, well.
Paid off my second home loan (98,000) and did all the prep work to get two new people to come to the island, which will put my population up to 6, counting me.
I forgot how relaxing this game can be.

Forbes puts the Yankees at $8.2B. All in, with the stadium and so on, I gotta think they are legit at least $20B.
I'm guessing the Cowboys would be right around that range, too.

Well the Lakers are being sold so we are all about to get a vague idea of what the Yankees would fetch
The rumored number for the Lakers looks to be about $10 billion.

"Touched by an Uncle" seems like a missed Infinite TV opportunity on Rick and Morty.
It's a TV show in a parallel universe starring Della Reese and Roma Downey.

I bought Ghost of Tsushima as the first PS5 game I really wanted after finally getting the system. But 3 partial playthroughs later, I'd only made it some of the way through Toyotama because the combat felt repetitive. But, I thought I understood the hype for the game even if I wasn't enthusiastic about finishing it.
And, until this playthrough, I hadn't done the Yarikawa quest lines in the second act.
But then I unlocked Ghost Stance.
*Now* I understand the hype.
Ghost of Tsushima is the only game that I've ever gotten to 100% on my PS account. One of my 2-3 favorite games of all time, if I had to make a list.
The only regret I have, as small as it is, was playing the first half or so of the game on "Kurosawa mode." Even though it's cool, once I switched over to color it was like The Wizard of Oz when you realize just how much you're missing out on graphics-wise.

I should note that when I eventually get a Switch 2 (which will be awhile) - there is no fucking way I am starting over
Oh, believe me, if I would have been able to find my Switch 1 I wouldn't have started fresh.
Of course, there would have been 2+ years worth of weeds on my island and probably a bunch of new neighbors, so at least there's no dealing with that.
I'll have to do a better job of keeping up with things when the inevitable next installment of this game comes out, hopefully sooner rather than later.

After being unable to locate my Switch after two years (I have a sneaky suspicion it was stolen during our move) and acquiring a Switch 2 last week, I am back on Animal Crossing.
Had to start a whole new island and everything but I'm giving it another go for something to do.
Judging from the fact that it's been about five months since anyone posted here I'm guessing the DVDVR Animal Crossing community is no more.

I can haz 2027 now, please?
EDIT: This probably should have gone in the "Upcoming Movies" thread rather than here. My apologies.

Man he did "Frankenstein" by the Edgar Winter Group, and played on "Hang On Sloopy". That's some credits right there.
And I was today years old when I learned that the only Grammy Award he won was for his collaboration with. . ."Weird" Al Yankovic.

10/2 release date
Between this and Borderlands 4, September/October is already filled for me.
The Kill Bill vibes that I'm getting from Ghost of Yotei can only mean that this thing is gonna be spectacular.

Also, the NFL has announced that they'll reveal the slate for this year's International games Tuesday morning on Good Morning, Football, the day before the rest of the schedule comes out.
There's a nasty rumor (that I hope isn't true) that the Vikings will be playing overseas games in consecutive weeks against the Steelers (in Dublin) and the Browns (in London) in Weeks 4 and 5.

R-Truth's going to need a new childhood hero.
If they want to cement this thing they need to do a segment on Raw with Truth asking Cena why he did it that ends with Cena totally destroying him.

I believe I've reached the last battle in will probably be the first of multiple playthroughs of Dynasty Warriors: Origins.
I wound up pledging to Liu Bei and the Shu clan. There were a few parts where I thought I was gonna lose my mind. . .honestly, there's a fight in Chapter 4 that's one of the toughest boss fights I've ever tackled. But, overall, it's been a pretty good return to form for the DW series so I can't complain too much about it.
There are apparently two different endings for each faction (the default ending and the "true" ending), so I don't know how deep into the weeds I'm going to get, but it might be fun to finish the game with each faction at least once.

Per The Athletic, ESPN and Major League Baseball have mutually agreed to opt out of their television deal after this season. They had a 1 March deadline to opt out of the deal, which was supposed to run through 2028.
