  1. Absolutely - because I look at myself every morning in the mirror, Ii don't see much of the change. Neither wifey, nor C see much of the change either.

My mum however, when she was picking up C for a nana-granddaughter day looked at me and "wheres the fucking rest of you?" - so i assume she's noticed. either that or she's going blind.

  2. God of war.

This game, this glorious game. One moment It's DOOM rip and tear, then it's a beautiful love letter to watching your child grow, understand their place in the world, and releasing the reins of parenthood a bit. But with draugr. and tattoos on rocks.

Found my first valkyrie and got utterly destroyed, in a hot minute. One second she screamed, the next mimir was asking if that was it.

but my favourite moments have nothing to do with the action, plot or anything major. what i love most is the incidental stuff. When Kratos rows, and Mimir just chats shit. utter bollocks lore stories. I can row all the way around the central platform for a good 20 minutes and he'll still be yammering on about thor.

I'm like 5'6" myself... tall people will never understand the struggle of how quickly guys like us can put on weight haha

For me, I'll hold my hands up and say, beer, takeaways and abject laziness were major contributing factors.

So I've got three suits. One I wore to the interview, and fitted into rather well, is on this weeks rotation. The jacket is now too big and, according to my wife, "hangs off me like a sack". I'll see if i can add a pic.

comparisons to david byrne gifs will not handled well.

I cant see much of the weight loss, but the scales and the fact that clothes no longer fit me, as they're too big and not me not being too big for them, means I'm going in the right direction.

  4. Month and a half after that last update.

18lbs lost. said goodbye to 270 lbs, 260 lbs forever.

    FOREVER.

Now to start a bit of weight/resistance training as the cardio is good for a 250lb dude, but the definition is lacking a lil bit. Never going to hit sub 200lbs wihtout years and years of work. But If i can hit 210 with a bit of a gut, but upper body muscle and leg muscle, I'll be alright, i reckon.

  5. Mikey, aka red.

38 in a week and a half. grey hairs are supposed to make you distinguished, dont they? just not on the eyebrows....or balls.

Been around here since the mid 00's, I believe, in one form or another. Was recommended this site from another.

Father to a 5 year old girl who can throws a pretty decent dropkick, and who loves her some new day (daddy the big man is funny....you have no idea sweetie), husband to a scientist who just about puts up with my weird past-time of viewing men in pants hit each other very hard (why dont you train for that, babe, get in shape....round IS a shape darling, and i have a fear of people hurting me)

Started a new job recently so havent been posting here for a wee while. tend to do long story type this is my life, venting posts.

    Welcome back!

  6. Blah blah new job, check the stuff thread for the history.

So, with the new job, I am now a commuter, with all that entails. Walking. Lots and lots of walking.

Quick local geography and transport lesson for the 1776 crew.

1 mile from front door to local train station. 15 minutes walk.

I then got off the train (up until a fortnight ago, anyways) at London Blackfriars and walk to the office just by the shard. For those who have never been to London village, that's just south of the river, and a mile and a bit from the office. Fantastic walk, going past the Tate modern (modern art), the globe theatre (some bloke called Bill was a writer), the anchor pub (one of the oldest in London) the old clink (london dungeon for the poor) and the fabulous borough market (foodie heaven, 16 wings for under 5 dollars).

Downside - my 19 stone / 270 pound ass is sweating like Lebron in game 7 by the time i get to the office. and THEN i had to do the walk back at the end of the day. Deep unbridled joy. And a new pair of sneakers.

Upside - london bridge station is now open so i can get a direct train which stops pissing distance from the office. AND, I may have just said goodbye to the 19 stone bit. I can feel the muscles in my thighs more - whether due to the loss of fat around there, or increase in muscle through walking, who knows - good feeling though. Clothes fit slightly better, and feel better. The sweating still hasnt stopped, but I've adapted Big E's big wool nickname - chunky jumper - always going to be a heavy sweater.

so yeah - tl:dr, new job, lots of walking to and from, instead of driving. red has got his first milestone.

I finished Rise of the Tomb Raider over the weekend (which I enjoyed more than the first one but it has also been awhile since I played the first one) so I was looking for something simple so I tried The Witness since it was an XBOX Game with Gold

After a hour of just doing line puzzles I realized I didn't hate myself THAT much

Now trying to decide what I play next

I realised that as I got to the final section. Goddamn I hated that towards the end. Wasnt intuitive at all.

Sounds promising RID, I'm crossing all of the above for you!

Good way to finish off the weekend - get my first archery medal (>194 points at 20 yards over 3 dozen arrows)

Best way to start a post WM Monday? Getting a call from the company who interviewed me to say I was head and shoulders above the other candidates and they want me to start as soon as I can.

So ultimately this shit fest of a year is about to get a WHOLE lot better. Even if does mean commuting into the big smoke.

  9. a step up springboard ssp as your first move? Jesus H christ on a pogo stick...how do you top that?

By the beautiful velveteen dream taking that insane risk and hitting the picture perfect elbow drop.

Cole was probably the least deserving guy out of the lot to get it. But with TuE now holding a fair bit of power...it made some retrospective sense.

If Ember gets called up, she'll struggle. She doesn't (for me anyway) have that wrestler/audience member connection in the way that asuka, sasha, or bayley did. The match was fine, but I believe she'll struggle.

The multi tag was a complete schmozz. It was a mess. No real cohesion to the vein of the match. But watching AoP utterly wreck the Usos on smackdown? Count me the fuck in. Yes please.

Glad black won - put andrade and vega into the us title scene immediately. andrade vs rusev, or orton? that'll do.

And Gargano vs Black vs tomato chomper for the title at the next takeover? That'd work.
